I still can't get over how lonely that trail is - my parents would never of ever let me hang out somewhere like that at 13. Anything could happen and nobody would see anything (and that day it did)

It's a predators jackpot- two girls out alone with nobody around.

I agree.
I'm not so sure the parents knew they were out there.
Were they even home?
Or at work.

And our parents must have gone crazy because if it! Sorry mum and dad! I was a silly teenager. 😎

The above is just my opinion.
Yes, I have apologized to my parents for my behavior especially now that I have a teenager.. I couldn't imagine and I try not to think about my teenager doing things I did that I know now were dangerous and know why mom and dad said I couldn't.. How did I ever make it to where I am now... Lol... Luck and Jesus..

I am not a parent.
But young women have gone missing hikingwalking/running in parks that were much more crowded than this one. They have gone missing in crowded mall parking lots in brought daylight!

Let's forget the monsters under the bridge and in the woods.
What about your child falling off that bridge?

I don't think he left Websleuths. I think he's taking a break from a frustrating case of which things have been regurgitated over and over and over to the point that sometimes it gets to where you wanna shake your arms (sorry I picture Casey Anthony right here, NO ONE WILL LET ME TALK!) and scream profanities. I've stepped back quite considerably myself.

I was thrilled that he and his wife went to the trouble of driving to Delphi and trying to estimate BG's size and hope he will join us again. His guesstimate of 5'9" to 5'10" is slightly higher than my own guesstimate of 5'8".

Maybe they were to stay on the trail. I don't know, but if the families were familiar with the bridge they may have figured the girls had enough sense to keep from falling. It sounds as if a whiff of blame is on the parents or guardians. Those people will probably live with the guilt for the rest of their lives. Catching the guy responsible is what's important, IMO.

MOO - all cities and towns now have these kinds of open space - Indiana has lots of Rail Trails - there is nature reserve right there're too - this is as traveled as most parks, maybe more -

Does having a heinous crime happen on or near your property reduce the value of it?

Perhaps Otto will remember this. In the case when Douglas Garland murdered 3 people on his parents acreage I think they got $1,000,000 for it when it was worth $1,500,000.

How Serial Rapists Target Their Victims

"Around 7:15, he approached her and asked when the next bus was coming. Before she could answer, he said, "I have a weapon. Follow me," and led the terrified woman down the street ....."

"Some rapists target women they've met (even briefly) and commit a single crime with little premeditation, but serial rapists are another breed. Typically intelligent, normal-seeming men, who often have a wife or girlfriend and a demeanor that lets them blend into their communities, they're known
for their methodical preparation, their practiced ability to hone in on vulnerable strangers, and the compulsive, recurrent nature...."

".... this kind of predator: how he meticulously plans his attacks, waiting for the brief window of time when his victim is isolated and often distracted or focused on what she's doing. Serial rapists, they taught me, often operate in a comfort zone — some preferring indoors to out, daytime to night, but establishing an area and approach they tend to stick to that assures them of both access to victims as well as an easy escape."

'.... dangerous criminals like these, your best weapon is awareness: The more you know about how they work and who they look for, the better your chances of staying out of their sights.'

Whoever BG is, he has a thick head of hair and also facial hair similar to a goatee.

Whether we see hair or a hat on his head, you can make out very thick hair.

So we go back to what LE originally said: Has someone changed their appearance?

If he's local, someone has to recognize a man with such thick hair suddenly went to a buzz cut and removed facial hair.

I know this is a hotly debated subject that most long time posters are probably sick of, but I don't see any hair at all. I only see a hoodie that covers all hair and possibly a hat. Either the hat is camouflage or the hoodie itself is. MOO

The link doesn't work for me. What am I missing?

Isn't working for me either but it did earlier. The biggest take away for me was the "optimism is not real high" statement by the ISP Captain. moo

These girls were said to be religious, so I imagine they were praying to Jesus. I guess luck was what you had that they didn't. Poor girls!

Excellent point. We need to focus on BG!
And back the the dangerousness of the bridge: anything can be to dangerous both both kids and adults. And, in fact, L and A met their demise from BG, not from a fall off of the bridge itself.
