Precious and fragile things
Need special handling
My God what have we done to You?

We always try to share
The tenderest of care
Now look what we have put You through...

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we'd manage
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

Angels with silver wings
Shouldn't know suffering
I wish I could take the pain for You

If God has a master plan
That only He understands
I hope it's Your eyes He's seeing through

May you finally find peace Christian!

Here is the charging document and the Lead Detective's summary of witness statements. It will leave you forever haunted by the sadness of his life......
My God, there needs to be another level of justice in this country for the evil that exists like this. We have failed as a society to protect our children...see Casey Anthony.

I sat here and sobbed while watching the you-tube video bessie posted. Only two photo's of Christian. :( While watching the video I realized as horrific as the abuse little Ethan Stacey endured for a few days while visiting his mother and step father, little Ethan only had to endure that abuse for days -while Christian endured this abuse for years. It makes neither of greater or less importance than the other...... it just made my heart so much heavier to fully grasp just how many years Christian endured this abuse.

How does this happen?

I pray this is a fairly speedy trial. I don't think I could handle any more of those lengthy 'no end in sight' trials such as that of Christopher Vaughn for murdering his wife and children.

I find some peace in knowing Christian is no longer suffering and am so deeply saddened by the loss of such a beautiful life.

I pray in addition to justice coming for Christian by way of his father and step mother EVERY agency from CPS to the school etc. are examined with a microscope to ensure another child NEVER EVER falls through the cracks the way Christian did. Heads should roll in this case just as they did in the Caylee Anthony case with the officer who blew off the tip from Kronk regarding finding her remains in August of 2008.

MOO

I know what you mean, Cubby. Only two photos of Christian, and the person who made the video had to use all sorts of creative ways to make them look different. Otherwise, it would have been a very short video. That just kills me. :(

I sobbed too, Cubby, and I am at work. :(

Hopefully someone will tell us some good memories of Christian, and share some more pictures of the sweet child.

That document was poster here back in May along with this one.

Both contain the horrific details of the crimes committed against Christian by his own family.

Only one adult claims to have brought her concerns to law enforcement. The rest appear to have kept silent -- some claiming fear, others because they allegedly were the ones hurting the boy...

Belinda Bradburn lived in the trailer next door as Christian's life came to an end. Bradburn, who is Kimberly Kubina's sister, initially told police she believed Christian had run away and denied she ever saw the boy being abused, according to records in the case.
Later, she told investigators she could hear the sounds of Riley Choate punching and slapping Christian.
And this from the neighbor who called DCS referring to the DCS worker's visit to the trailer:

"She never even stepped foot in the house," Wingard said. "Kim came out of the house and stood there at the sidewalk and talked to the lady, and I just remember thinking, 'Go inside.' "

Two step Aunts from KK's side knew and said nothing. What if it were their child? They KNEW and didn't say a word. :furious:

:( I am so sorry Christian that you had to go through this....I hope that he can see us from Heaven and know that many of us love him and will see that he gets Justice.

What a bunch of cruel people! I will never understand how people can hurt children. JMO

This is a little encouraging. We'll have to keep an eye on this and see what comes of it.

US probes underreporting of child abuse deaths

"After his death, police found letters he had written about how he wondered when anyone would check on him or give him any food or water," US Congressman Geoff Davis said Tuesday as he convened a hearing on Capitol Hill into the under-reporting of deaths of US children from abuse and neglect.

But our job today is to make sure that all deaths of children due to maltreatment are recorded, so we can learn from all of them and use that knowledge to work with state and local partners to prevent more of these tragedies from occurring in the future," Davis said.

I read about this poor little boy a few weeks ago . I literally had to stop and then go back after I calmed down .
That poor kid ..just breaks your heart that this can happen .

RC, KC, DCS, and any other adult in the house who saw what was going on should be prosecuted for this young boy's murder. No time off for good behavior, just the rest of their lives locked up....and even that is not enough for justice to be served. The mental anguish this child felt was unforgivable, let alone the physical torture. I need to pray hard for the ability to understand and forgive. I am just sick. Blessings

Updates from the bond hearing held September 8th. It was continued until October 17th.

Bond Hearing for Choate and Kubina Focuses on Daughter
Attorneys for the defendants focused their questions to Lake County Detective Jeff Minchuk about statements from Christian’s family members about his sister Christina hitting him and about whether she withheld information from police.
Coroner: Blows Fatal to Teen
Testifying at a bail hearing Thursday, Dr. Young Kim, of the Lake County coroner's office, told the court the remains of slain Christian Choate weighed a mere 28 pounds. While he could not pinpoint what caused the blows that were still seen on the remains at autopsy, Kim said, "Something happened."
Whether that "something" were blows from a fist or an instrument, Kim said the boy died of blunt force trauma to the head and chest. His skull was fractured at the back of the head. Bruising and internal bleeding were evident on much of the boy's body, including the chest, abdominal area and both arms.

Oh my it just keeps getting worse and worse!

My DGS is 17 months and weighs just about as much as he weighed at his death!

I still follow this case and will until those two are convicted and put away forever, but its hard to even stomach any more of the details. I just cant believe anyone would treat another human being like this; especially a child.

I feel the same. It's extremely difficult to read about what this precious child endured. And even worse to see his sister tossed under the bus by the two monsters charged with this crime.

God Bless you Christian, you are no longer in pain, nor will you ever be again. Run, laugh, play and feel the love you never felt while on earth in heaven precious one.
