Part of my astonishment is that a partner of the firm did the stand in as opposed to say, an associate or clerk. Maybe he was the only person close to SA's height and build though I don't quite see that. What I mean is that partners usually have their own cases to deal with and wouldn't take precious time off to do such a re-enactment. MOO.

Maybe tax deductible??? trip to Barbados? Maybe a couple extra fun days tacked on???

In one pic, I believe I saw Winkleman, w the doll partially tucked into a case/wheelie bag.

Since there was discussion earlier about the cruise contract, I thought I would pull mine for my upcoming cruise. I had to convert the pdf to Word and then divide it into two documents, so there may be some spacing/punctuation errors. The picture here is how this looks when you check in on the RCL website.

They might have spoken with LE
Mum is reading or filling out paperwork and it could be her statement as it appears 2 cops standing there.
@they'll get you :)
Oh, I had not realized that Mum/KSW was in the pic. Not much of her face is visible.
Not doubting you, just curious as to how she was identified. In MSM's pic caption? Or?

I do not recall having seen this pic, until it was discussed until the last day or two, re the 'prison bar window' / maintenance hatch / scupper / grid window as various ppl have called it.

Are you sure that’s mom? I thought they went to the medical part of the ship. And that lady doesn’t look like some one that just lost a child. I’d be on the floor in a ball

At least in federal court, the vast majority of cases never get to trial, they are settled or dropped.

It is that way in most jirisdiction, covil and criminal - judges want people to drop silly cases, take the settlement, take the plea...

Judges hate to make decisions at trials that can be appealed and reversed. They prefer people “decide” on their own to do whatever.

It’s not that a judge can stop frivolous lawsuits (that would involve making a decision they have to own). It’s that they can encourage the officers of their court to communicate to their clients their chances of winning. And the judge will remember the idiot lawyer that came before them (or their judge buddies in the office next door) with nonsense. Next time that lawyer wants a favor from the judge whose time was wasted by nonsense, how do you think the judge will lean?

There is a literal formula they do and they
blather and come up with some percentage, and remind you you could lose. And wait in silence and stare at you.

If the judge wants the case to go away, defying him will only annoy the court.
And mandatory mediation IMO

Wow. I didn't know 4 grandparents were on this cruise. And yet poor CW winds up with SA and is dead within 15 minutes. Even in the video before they get to the window, he's leaning down against a column. She's not even within arm's distance of him. Then he's lagging behind her a good 10 feet or more as she approaches the window. And he doesn't have the reaction time to grab her when she starts to fall out the window. She started to fall immediately, his hands were inches away. You reach out, grab clothes whatever. There is no reaction from him to grab her as I can tell from the video. And the entire family watches this video and supports him? Honestly if it was me and she fell I would be 5 seconds behind her. And I would have a very hard time forgiving anyone who did something so stupid and reckless. Wait until the eyewitness reports that he was playing a "game" with her and part of the game was he let her go for a split second not expecting her to panic or jerk and fall. Unforgivable.
From the very beginning I thought he tossed her up (not high -just enough to let go) and she slipped (he did not catch her) falling to her death IMO I think it will be crystal clear on the video that’s in evidence (or soon to be) as played on their proprietary software exactly what his hands were doing and how far his upper body was across the plane of that window - jMO

Truly competent investigative reporting, and journalistic integrity, are nearly extinct, I'm afraid. For example, David Begnaud: recall how meek and accepting he was of Anello's ridiculous claims - never a hint of a challenge. In referring to online comments, did Begnaud mention the overwhelming rejection of the family's stance in the comments? Nope, DB tells SA that comments are mostly against him being charged. Which is flat out untrue. Journalists are basically unthinking parrots these days. There are still exceptions, but they are getting really hard to find.
I was mentioning to my DW the other day the same thing, I would like to see the British reporter who interviewed Prince Andrew about his ties to Epstein interview SA, she would have ripped his sad story to shreds! IMHO

Hopefully so. Is anyone surprised that we haven’t heard anything from any of the passengers that may have seen the incident? I haven’t noticed any information from a witness yet. I’m kind of surprised; usually you hear a few things in events such as this. JMO

Yeah, and I wouldn't be on TV so soon either. Or be so very concerned with $$$ right away..or...you get the idea. JMOO

ChrisPBacon, I was talking about when they all went to what was, I think, a police station, perhaps the next day. I don't remember all of the details, but it was reported that neither mother nor father would speak with investigators, on the advice of their lawyer. The article was talked about here on WS. I'll look for it to re-post.

Just holy crap if that's her.
She looks very composed and ready to get on with her lawsuit, doesn't she ?

Agreed with above poster I'd be in a ball on the floor. And prob. screaming. Either that or ripping S.A. to bits.

RCL Cruisers: Check-In/Boarding Procedures?
RCL has an app I’m checking in tomorrow -(March cruise) checked in early Dec for the Christmas cruise - you just check boxes the whole way through and upload pic and passport info - the whole process constitutes acceptance of the cruise contract IMO

Yellowbeak, the below is from an article on Nov 21,2019 from News.Au and it's in the media timeline for this case, here on WS.
On October 29, a judge ordered the arrest of Mr Anello, who was to front court facing the charge of negligent homicide. Prosecutors told the court they have witnesses from both on and off the island that they will call to testify.

@JulieBEMT :) IIRC, you said you've been on RC cruises before. If you - or other RCL cruisers - could explain about check-in /boarding procedures, I'd appreciate it.

A couple specific points:
----Is each adult passenger required to sign any/something before boarding?
----If so, hard copy or digital?
----What is the content?
---------Repro of cruise contract? (agree to abide w? no-sitting on railings, etc., like your link)
-------- Acknowledgement to pay for what-ev services, not already pre-paid?
-------- Or?

Thank you cruisers for enlightening us landlubbers (as we envy you w your umbrella drinks):D:cool::D

In a fetal position and catatonic. Or dead. Even now, almost too horrific to think about.

Boarding is just a scan of the ticket in the app - expedited is bypassing all the lines - hoping to get that for March - dec we had a guest with no passport but it still was just a scan of the app and our carryons went through the X-ray
