From MW's statements, it's obvious that he was expecting RCCL to just offer a generous settlement to make this case go away and take it out of the headlines - that also explains the never-ending publicity tour by MW and the family. They were hoping to put pressure on the cruise line to settle, thinking that people would feel sorry for the family and vilify RCCL. However, just the opposite has happened; the overwhelming majority of comments here and elsewhere show that people feel the cruise line is in no way responsible for Chloe's death. That also explains why the parents are so upset that SA has been charged and that the video of his actions has been leaked: it really torpedoes their narrative. MW must be dismayed that instead of getting the easy payday he expected, he actually has to prove his case in court - and if SA is convicted of negligent homicide, his case is that much more difficult.

I thought they all got off the ship after she was dropped and the ship ended up leaving around 8pm or so? I’m sure it’s in the media thread IIRC
I read that the ship left around 10:30 p.m.

Until that entire video was released, the family was getting some public support. We saw that here and in comments on articles, that there shouldn't be windows in play areas, and poor grandpa was upset enough, no use charging the poor man.

But after people saw that longer video, and saw him looking out the window, and grabbing up the baby, hoisting her up and over the guard rail, onto that window ledge---the tide changed.

I cannot imagine how KW could have gone back to the scene of the accident to sit down and discuss anything. Even medicated, this would be an impossible and unrealistic expectation for any parent to do. IMO.

IIRC, mom did go to the 11th floor upon hearing what happened. I don’t recall where she was when she heard it, but to me, going to the place of the accident immediately sounds like a natural response.

I just can't imagine. It is surreal. Things like this, happen in an instant, and it is like slow motion.

This whole situation, makes me want to find my daughter and hug her so tightly to me. Although, she is 28.

Yes I recall this too - especially reporters that interviewed them - noticeably absent? No new interviews or commentary since this has come to light that I have found - I keep waiting for Gayle king and the cbs morning crew to step up and admit they were wrong in their comments after airing David’s interviews

And mandatory mediation IMO
How could I forget mandatory mediation??? Did three. My lawyer and stalker’s lawyer. A professional mediator *I* paid for. And lastly, another judge in the courthouse.

Guess who refused to settle? Crazy stalker!

Boy, that federal judge was angry every time my nonsense popped up on her docket. Again.

I can't zoom in but here is more of her face.

It is interesting in the photos released by Winkleman that the unidentified woman (mum vs witness) is “masked” by the yellow tape or obscured by the body of what appears to be PR LE. Coincidence?

In this specific photo, it appears almost as if the unidentified woman is glancing at/towards
the photographer. It could just be another coincidence.

Working on my dinky iPad this morning. For those with better eyes and equipment, what do you think?

I was mentioning to my DW the other day the same thing, I would like to see the British reporter who interviewed Prince Andrew about his ties to Epstein interview SA, she would have ripped his sad story to shreds! IMHO
Remember DB meekly asking MW why they were leaning out the window? “I think that’s *obvious* - to get a better view.” And....no follow up at all.

ChrisPBacon, I was talking about when they all went to what was, I think, a police station, perhaps the next day. I don't remember all of the details, but it was reported that neither mother nor father would speak with investigators, on the advice of their lawyer. The article was talked about here on WS. I'll look for it to re-post.
And who was that lawyer? Winkyman!

For sure, No concerns about law suits or TV interviews. No thoughts at all. Nothing but the pain of unextinguished anguish, loss, and grief..... for a precious child forever lost to us.

Not purposely trying to be narrow minded... I just can’t understand anything other than that. It’s painful to even think about.
IOW, this Circus of theirs is a disgrace. IMO
People interested in this case have put forth the notion that the”Circus”(appropriate description, IMO!) is a coping mechanism for the family. IMO, that is hogwash. I could understand retaining a lawyer for a potential lawsuit AFTER an appropriate grieving process and AFTER all or many of the facts were presented.
The Wiegands first action, however, was to retain a civil lawyer(lol!). If they were concerned at all about DA and potential legal ramifications for him, a criminal attorney would have been retained.
There is SO much that is bizarre about this case, and that is why it has captivated us all here on WS and other forums.

When did journalists stop being journalists and become stenographers instead?

In order to get the interview first, they make concessions to not ask certain questions, provide all questions up front, etc.

If they spoke to investigators, they were probably told to zip their lips, until the trial is over. JMO
You are probably right. I guess I’m being impatient! It would be nice to know that a witness saw a particular view of the incident.

DB from CBS had so much sympathy for SA he had none left for little Chloe.

Chloe was running way ahead of SA in the video. Was she trying to run away from him for some reason? Just thinking out loud, wondering.

If anyone has time to go through the videos to see if this woman appears at or near SA - that may help us narrow down if that’s a witness or the mom - based on the several images I googled of that photo and her very straight long ponytail I do not think it is the mom and I also do not think she would be sitting there after this horrible event ...

I'm curious about something and I hope someone can help me out. I've never been on a cruise and I wonder just how much this family's cruise cost, for a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) and two sets of grandparents. I'm asking because I took another look at the crowdfunding sites for SA and the rest of the family, and they give the impression that these people don't have much money.

Sure, but DB’s mealy-mouthed deference to SA and MW was gross. And DB is still doing the same.

My husband who drives for a living heard on the radio the first reporting that Chloe had accidentally fallen . He had only sympathy for SA. He had heard nothing since. He had not heard of the lawsuit against RCCL. The news outlets don't follow up on their work. Beyond lazy. When I told him what I had learned through this site he was appalled. MW is looking for the uninformed juror.
