Brown has no major criminal conviction history, with records showing four civil infractions and one misdemeanor, a 2013 bust for possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid.

Cannabis won't cause this kind of violence but a synthetic will.

I agree. If what the passenger/witness told the police is true -- that he suddenly began speeding and weaving in and out of traffic out of nowhere -- it's possible synthetic marijuana is the cause of his erratic behavior. It's bad, bad stuff. Crazy, stupid, and dangerous stuff.

From this article:

"...police in Washington state reported that another NFL player, Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman, admitted to smoking synthetic weed in October before getting into a hit-and-run car accident. After the accident, witnesses described Coleman as acting “delirious and aggravated.”

And it will not matter if MJ is legalised, some people will always want a bigger an better hit and if it is legal it is more interesting to do illegal stuff.

Like with other police shooters. Where did they go to school? What are their interests? Why is there a lack of money for a car but money for drugs and guns?

Anyone have scary experiences with him? Why all of the guns? Was he in a gang that sold drugs? Did he feel that LE was a threat? Why would he kill an officer coming to help him?

Because he's psycho? Just because he's white and has tattoos doesn't mean he's a white supremacist. GMAFB. He's effing psycho as most people who kill regardless of the color of his skin.

This is really sad and I have only heard about this here. Sad that our LEO are getting slaughtered at an alarming rate but don't get much press. Add that it's a white on white crime and no one cares because it's not sensationalism.

RIP

Huh? I think it's just as reasonable to wonder if he was involved in gangs as it is in any other case. Have you seen the pictures of him? I don't know if he's in that particular gang, but he seems to fit the profile of a gang member. Why do people jump straight to gang activity in one case, but in this one people are basically defending the guy like for some reason it's difficult to believe he was living an unlawful lifestyle at best.

He could not afford a car but he had guns. What was he doing with the 13 bags of mj? Sounds like dealing. I doubt if he was growing it. Who did he get it from?

Is there a bigger component to this story? Online presence in hate LE groups? What is up with the drug dealing possiblity? How big is he in the drug dealing world?

Court date postponed to Thurs

"Jason Brown, the man accused of shooting a Southport police lieutenant 14 times and killing him, will be in court Thursday afternoon.

Brown's court date was initially scheduled for Tuesday, but he was not medically cleared to be in court, a representative with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday."

Fourteen shots inside a car is close contact.
:gaah:
Brown must have been a poor shooter or the hanging upside down in the car, if he was on a drug, certainly messed up his eyesight! Fourteen is overkill!!

This report refers to the affidavit

But a probable cause affidavit filed with the charges states that other officers and witnesses said Allan approached the overturned car, stuck his head inside and told Brown "to be calm and that help was on the way." The Indianapolis man became "hysterical," it states, before allegedly grabbing a handgun and opening fire, shooting Allan 11 times, including in the heart.

Not much info at all on Brown except he would never do anything like that, yet he did.

He had 13 bags of mj in a quart bag. What is that all about?

The reporters (per video) have tried to make contact with the passenger HL, but evidently he's staying quiet.

http://www.theindychannel.com/news/...n-death-of-southport-police-lieutenant?page=2

And, on another (less reliable) site the passengers name was mentioned in a comment... and it does appear that person has a FB page. But, nevertheless, LE considers him nothing more than a witness... and I will just trust their judgement.

He is not medically cleared? I wonder what that's about.
I wonder if a head injury has him out of it.
Or is he still coming off some really bad drugs?
Has the local news mentioned the perps injuries?
Just looking for an explanation for such illogical behavior.

It is interesting that one of his past charges was for 'spice.' I think his irrational behavior during the shooting sounds more 'spice like' than regular pot.
