Just curious as to why Jean Casarez always throws on a Hispanic accent when pronouncing JM's name. Seems unnecessary. Is this something she always does with Hispanic names?

I think she was born in Mexico..

The car would have been cleaned and vacuumed upon return. Then probably rented out to someone else so any evidence would be destroyed or contaminated anyway.

But as memory serves, they did find the 9MM hidden in between the seats or something like that. If there was a gun, there could have been dog hair. Anyway, it doesn't matter, we don't have to prove she was there or killed JA. I'm pretty sure there was dog hair on her socks, and pants. Whether a dog is in the area or not, the hair will still be there. No way around it unless your OCD like Howard Hughes was.

Se does it with most Hispanic names.

Well, we know her cat hates her. Animals do have that sense about a person's character. Somehow they seem to know immediately, too.

My pug would give the Elvis looking lip if someone did anything to hurt her feelings or did something to injury her. Hurting her feelings usually involved someone wouldn't share candy with her. :) Seriously, pugs have a mind of their own and if they don't like someone, there is a good reason.

Yes, Jinxasaurus ALWAYS always always does this and yes, it is quite annoying!! I believe she does it because she claims to be hispanic herself.... I'm pretty sure that's why.

I don't believe the children's name conversation happened as JA claims it did.
I think it may have gone like this~

JA- Travis,,,,what do you want to name your children?
TA- What?
JA- Your children's names?
TA- ???
JA- How about ______, _______ and ______?
TA- Whatever

Excellent summary! Thank you for taking time to summarize that.

I wanted to add about Jodi's claim of receiving a cash refund from Wal Mart. In my area, a purchase made with a credit card is refunded TO the credit card; there is no cash refund option for cc purchases. If you paid cash, and it is within a certain time (30 days, I think) you can get a cash refund, but there is still documentation of the return, and you have to fill out an address and phone number, also. I remember doing a cash purchase return once recently, and instead of cash back they gave me a WM store card. And still completed paperwork. I don't remember if they gave me a store card because the amount was very small, or why exactly, as I have never done a return greater than 30 days in my life.

The point is that WM has very narrow circumstances under which they will give a cash refund, and there is always a record. Years ago, there were problems with people smuggling items out of the store, then carrying them back another day without a receipt to ask for a cash refund. WM is pretty specific about return policies, and I suspect cashiers have exactly zero independent free judgement in deviating from these policies.

So from where I'm sitting, it doesn't matter whether or not Jodi claims to have received cash back in her return process. There still would have been a definite record of the return process, whether cash, credit, or store card. At ANY WM store, not just the one she bought the gas can from. Jodi was stupid enough to think that if she lied and said she got a cash refund, that it would minimize the transaction importance, and eliminate the record of the return. Juan nailed her on that.

You're very welcome!

Thanks for all the info about Walmart and return policies. I don't know anything about Walmart myself since we don't have one around where I live. I did pass one on a road trip once if that counts. ;)

Something that struck me about the hair thing. I know she has changed her hair in the past but I did wonder if some motivation for changing her hair back to her original colour was that Mimi Hall is also a brunette.
I remember when I saw Mimi Hall on the stand, how similar they looked.

Perhaps another way to try and keep Travis, emulate a woman who he had a current interest in and also saw as a prospective future wife.[/QUO

She always has at least two reasons for everything. Its Jodi's multiple answer quiz.

I'd love to know the jurors' reaction as Jodi described cowering in abject terror when, mired in LA traffic, TA's uncontrolled fury resulted in his yelling at drivers and rapidly escalated to the maniacal fiend actually pounding his hands on the steering wheel!!! Oh to be a fly on the wall in the jury room when they can finally speak together about the case.

I don't know when Travis moved to Mesa, but he was born and raised in Riverside, CA. He still has relatives in Riverside. Surely he was used to the usual gridlock in both counties! It's not like he was born and raised in Yreka which has a population of around 8,000. I bet it was more Jodi's reaction to the big city traffic - not Travis.

Yes and from what I know, she's either Hispanic or part Hispanic

I think she was born in Mexico..

I figured she was Hispanic based on her names and appearance, and it's just a small pet peeve. I just find it odd to hear her speak without the accent then to throw it in there and then back to no accent.

First of all, OBE, another thanks for performing the experiment of dragging your DH as you did -- and a BIG thanks to him for being your "accomplice" (what a guy!).

No, you were not pumped with adrenalin as she must have been, nor did you do it with the help a very powerful boost of *rage* that she certainly must have had. And this rage had been building up for quite some time, IMO. She prolly could have jumped tall buildings with a single bound. Further, you did not have the additional help of the lubrication of blood and water on a tile floor to lessen the friction.

And as for this fog of not remembering hardly anything about the details of the killing x3, I feel certain that she still goes through it in gory detail when she reflects on her handiwork of that day. Yes, she showed him, didn't she? "Nobody calls me a wh*re and gets away with it. Nobody breaks up with me. And nobody turns down the thrills that only I can deliver in all kinds of sex." Yes, she remembers.

JMHO.

She's like, "I'll show him what a sociopath is".

I think she's Hispanic. I noticed when Det. Flores was sworn in he pronounced his name Es-TAY-ban FLO-res iirc.

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: haha! Unfortunately for me, I think my boyfriend and I have had this exact conversation!

Juan did it too, I noticed at some point in the trial. Can't remember which day..but he did do it. Then he stopped. Weird

It was when he was talking about Bobby Juarez. Did he stop? I didn't notice, but you may be right. At first I had a hard time understanding what JM was saying, but I assumed it was a microphone issue. Perhaps someone pointed it out to him.

I live in the land of 90% Hispanics. I'm not but I'm fluent in Spanish. It's a bit irksome when someone who does not speak Spanish mangles a word. Like Jalapeno. It's HA-LA-PAIN-YO.
Not JALAPANO.

I wonder if any members of the Jury has seen a recently released movie called "Side Effects", where the main character murders her husband with a knife while sleepwalking. Her Defense is based on the antidepressants she was prescribed by her psych. (Jude Law) because she felt a "fog" rolling in everyafternoon.
