Lee sounds to me like he thinks he's much wiser than the police. I guess the Anthony's are consistant at something :p

Has anybody in that stupid family shed ONE tear for poor Caylee????? It sure doens't seem like it. They all seem to be so non-emotional about her!!

I'm sure they have all shed oceans of tears for baby Caylee. Just because we do not see them a mess on national TV does not for a minute mean they are not hurting. These people are living a nightmare and nobody here should speculate on how they really feel, because nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. Casey has put this family through hell for many years. They have admitted that on numerous occassions. Why kick them any more while they are down? I just don't get it.

Everyone is looking to blame somebody else or connect somebody else to Casey killing Caylee. This whole family has grilled Casey and she will not talk. They are frantic and praying that just maybe this spiteful b!tch might tell them the truth. Lee is not on her side. He's playing the spiteful B!tches game!

i dont think lee sounds older than his years, i think he just sounds like a member of law enforcement, just like casey does. they both use "official" and investigative sounding words.

vehicle instead of car, residence instead of house, conveyed instead of said, etc.

it makes both of them sound detached and somewhat rehearsed, in casey it makes her sound guilty and insincere, with lee it makes him sound detached and somewhat inappropriate. but i dont think he is lying or involved.

Well, well, well.....isn't this a prediciment for the Anthony's! I haven't heard the tapes yet, I'll wait for NG then I'll listen to them again later

As for sounding official - that won't be too significant, all the law and CSI shows on TV, thats where a lot of people get terms now - PLUS because Casey is lying and we all know that, she uses these terms to sound like she is telling the truth (does that make sense?)

HMMMPH am I the only one that thinks A and J are initially trying to deflect attention to the "new" boyfriend?

Curious, I read some of Jesse's interview on one of the Orlando websites - he said that he thinks that Casey would have put Caylee in the playhouse - didn't the cadaver dogs hit on the playhouse or right next to it?

And a clarification - my thought does NOT pertain to Casey at all. Not showing emotion when your baby is gone is completely different than Lee (seemingly) trying to compose himself and give clear answers on tape 8 days after everything went on. I know if my family needed me to give a statement I'd try to summon up every little anger and strength to be as clear and concise as possible.. IMO

Remember: this is July 23rd, probably the 4th or 5th time LA was interviewed. Reading thru the interviews, the detectives often say, "okay point 8, we talked about x y z..." I am pretty sure this is after they get their initial interviews and they want clear, recorded answers to their questions - if you did this the day of an event and the person was super emotional and crying, you wouldn't be able to hear what the person was saying.

Also its much more helpful to the prosecutor and detectives if the person thinks everything through and talks everything through before they record / sign / enter this into public record. Wouldn't want someone getting accused of perjury because they were crying and said saturday instead of sunday... IMO

Yeah but isn't it the night that they learn for the first time that Caylee is gone that Lee goes to get Casey's belongings at Tony's.

if I had a missing toddler in the family , I would be running through Tony's, tripping, in a hurry, FRANTIC TO GET IN AND OUT, and grabbing stuff if I had to. I'd probably be tossing loose unpacked stuff into my vehicle just because I would have to get back to the house where I could question and interact with the last person who saw the toddler, i.e.Casey.
I find the fact that Lee stops and turns on any computer at Tony's, and fiddles with it, analyzes it, somewhat odd. I don't see the tears and emotion. It seems very methodical.

Anybody think Lee laughs too much? This really isn't a funny situation you know

  • #90
THAT is definately NOT a nervous laugh !!!! errrrrrrrr

  • #91
Also, how does she say "we could have found her a month ago" before she knew she had been missing a month?

Yep. Carts before horses. I'm re-listening and also reading and making notes. It's out of whack here.

We don't know how forthright he is, yet. Not enough facts...

I am having a hard time with something in the interview of Lee.
Cindy and Lee are relatively knew to the nightmare of Caylee being missing, no arrest yet or anything, Casey's in a room with Lee. Cindy enters ...

How they get from Cindy asking Casey, "What have you done"

to Cindy asking Casey, "Who took her?"

without stories and explanations to swing Cindy and Lee from 1 thought process off in another direction.

I am really puzzled by this in Lee's accounting still.

It is like we go from point A to point C but we are not privvy to whatever is point B.

Lee didn't buy it either. That's when he looked at Cindy and said I'm with you, go ahead, call the cops.

I am still into the first round of listening but I will listen again of course.

It is hard for me to believe because:

1.Cindy speaks: "Casey, what have you done."

2. Cindy speaks: " Who took her?"

There is , if I remember, no time that is filled in with explanations, theories, or things being heard.

It is a gigantic leap from Harm Avenue to Kidnapping Lane without an interconnecting street to get us there.

I therefore think some things may have been said which have been omitted on purpose. I will definitely listen again later.

Either way it's all hear say and it will never be allowed at the trial. Before we all jump to conclusions maybe we should hang on and wait for Cindy's audio to come out. JMO

Because she was listening at the door and heard Lee and KC talking while sitting on the bed. KC told Lee "to tell you the truth, I haven't seen my daughter in 31 days".

That's one that I hope doesn't come out. Reason: I want that one used at trial.

I think it's a habit with a tad of nerves incorporated into conversation in general. I have a cousin that does the same thing.

Hey, and what about him 'offering' to go get C's phone from Tony? Of course they said no and that they would get it. Then they take Casey out to drive around and look for things and Lee slips out and goes to Tony's and gets the computer and her stuff....lying with a cover story that somebody tried to delete stuff off the computer! And he doesn't come back for 2 and a half hours!!! And Edwards tells him that the cops did NOT know he was going to get that stuff...and Lee LAUGHS and says then that would be false?! WTH??? He is in this up to his eyeballs. He decided before the cops got to that home to help Casey cover up and lie. IMO
