Besides, how many suspects are there???
1. A man on the bike
2. A man in hospital

Is it the same man or 2 different ones?

At the moment I am thinking they are the same man.

I see.
Maybe the Police want the public to identify him and find more witnesses.
If he is the same man, then they have their perp.

That is surprising . In England, after a murder ,it can sometimes take months for a victim to be released for a funeral.

Funerals happen very fast in Ireland, usually within around 3 days. With a murder autopsy will usually be carried out within 24 hours so no need to keep the body.

In England the defence have the right to ask for their own autopsy .

I am not sure he is the one we are discussing when referring to the cyclist and man in hospital. Those are the ones we are considering to be one and the same person in relation to the murder.

Sorry I misunderstood.

He’s in hospital in Dublin, which isn’t the nearest to Tullamore. Allegedly, he got a taxi to Dublin and presented at a hospital there. He couldn’t explain his injuries, but the Gardaí cannot interview him until he is discharged. They have just removed a recycling bin from the area, to look for possible clues.

The taxi to Dublin would explain why Gardai are specifically looking to speak to a person who might have given the suspect a lift. But if I understand correctly, he didn't go directly to the hospital from Tullamore? He used a knife to inflict further injuries on himself once in Dublin and presented at the St. James' Hospital accompanied by a family member?

Terribly sad case...

A taxi to Dublin must have cost a fortune!
It is over 100 km, no?

Absolutely.. it would cost a fortune- unless he knew a driver in Dublin? I don’t know the details- but the Gardaí were checking houses in both Tullamore and Dublin.
It’s just been a horrible week for her poor family- all hearts are broken for them.

Maybe his family member has a taxi in Dublin?

My God!
If he is a perp, and somebody helped him, this person will be charged as well and ruin his/her life.

The taxi thing is very strange!
I mean, the perp was bloodied,
what taxi driver would take such a passenger???
Besides, didn't Police say he travelled by train?
Oh, well...

Yes… that’s why it seems he must know the taxi driver, if that’s how he got to Dublin. There’s no way he could have taken the train.
