I think it was JennyM who put up an article earlier that mentionned that the IDF took away four bodies.

I'll have to scroll back ... this thread is mooooovvvving quickly!
Quoting mself:

It was from one of JennyM's earlier posts:

Not four bodies though as I thought the link in the post stated. So much info flying in. The article stated:
He says Israeli forces had removed some bodies from the hospital – where four dialysis patients are now in critical condition.

So, not four, but more than one. The recently identified now-deceased hostage + ???

Hamas (who is in power only in Gaza) is trying to draw the West Bank (under Fatah control) into the war.
I would add settlers to the mix.

Perhaps there is more evidence that hostages were terrorized, tortured, maimed (like Noa Marciano), raped, beheaded and murdered at, or beneath, the hospital.
I could be mistaken, but I feel not all captors treated their hostages the same, just as soldiers sometimes treat POW's better or worse than they're ordered to. jmo

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh says in a televised speech (he’s not in Gaza), that Hamas “is rooted in its land and all those who try to change that will fail.” Haniyeh also thanked the other “hot resistance fronts” and says he “salutes the free people of the world who fill the streets and pressure on their governments.”(Yes, Hamas leader “salutes” all those liberals marching in western capitals).

Well here's your sign.. if the leader of a terrorist organization is applauding your actions, then you are on the wrong side.

They need the hostages alive. I believe many/most are alive.
Negotiations started with 240 hostages in exchange for 6000 criminals. That changed to 70 hostages in exchange for a 5 day ceasefire. Then it was 50 hostages for a 3 day ceasefire. It doesn't sound good when the number of hostages they negotiate with is reduced over 5 weeks.

I think hope will be restored when a living hostage is found.

I'd like to think the number of hostages was decreased in proportion to the number of days of ceasefire. Hope I'm right about that...

That can all change now. The Gaza strip needs to be rebuilt after the war. There will be more jobs than people to fill them. Gaza needs new post secondary schools to train people for full time jobs and good pay cheques going forward. There's no excuse to allow Gaza to return to a dirty, garbage and graffiti filled State where young men live in tunnels and play with their weapons.

No Gaza government should be allowed to manage funding that is designated to rebuild.
I agree completely. The question of course is who will be in charge, who will oversee the Gaza reconstruction? It clearly can't be the UN.

And no fuel, no 6,000 prisoners.

I agree. But I also think Hamas is making it as difficult as possible to get to them.
Of course.

Hostages are their ''card" to get prisoners "comrades" set free.

And these poor people of many nationalities might be used in deals with their countries of origin.

I don’t think it was from me but I’ll go through my posts to check.

ETA: can’t find it in my posts.

That is true. The UN, WHO and other organizations that refuse to condemn the October 7 massacre cannot have anything to do with the rebuild of Gaza.

The first thing the UN will do is pick up the "kill Israelis" curriculum and educate another generation of terrorists. That cannot be allowed to happen again.

Hamid, a resident of Arara in the Negev, hid in the bushes with his infant son. They weren't there alone. Nearby, terrorists also hid in an ambush for IDF soldiers."I won't live." Now I have to choose how to die.' When he heard the terrorists next to him planning the ambush on our soldiers - he chose. With his baby son in his arms, wrapped in the clothes that Hamid took off from him - he ran out of the bushes, under the fire of the terrorists, to warn the soldiers of the planned ambush - thus saving their lives.Hamid's wife did not survive the murderous attack and left behind 9 children, and one hero. All Israel brothers and sisters. This is the Israeli spirit. That's why we will win.

NINE children!

This is all coming from Hamas, through Qatar. I don't think Israel is contemplating any offer right now. At the very beginning there was a brief discussion of all hostages for a cease fire. But "all hostages" in any deal is not mentioned anymore. I assume that is two fold. The leadership still alive will need to keep a few to try to get their own last ditch attempt to get out. Second, many of the hostages are dead, one way or another. But regardless, Hamas can't be trusted so there simply is no reason to negotiate. Lets say Israel agreed, 50 hostages for three day cease fire. Then Israel stops, and Hamas produces 20 hostages. Israel knows full well they will be criticized when they then resume the assault. There simply is little to be gained by this. Hamas, the PA, Arab league, the UN, none of them have any credibility left.

Ummm...

I don't think it is for us to decide about future government of other nation.

I pray they are. I became concerned when the hospital dug a massive grave the day before IDF entered.

I mean they were to scared to go outside to pick up fuel, but not to scared to dig a mass grave.

The taking and holding of civilian hostages is a war crime. It is a new crime every day they hold them. Hamas is apparently acknowledging they hold these hostages. There is nothing to negotiate.

It's a foregone conclusion that anyone educated by the Hamas government during the past 17 years will rebuild Gaza exactly as it is today. That cannot happen because it is a threat to all civilized societies.

Translated from Hebrew by Google
IDF forces continue to operate and locate terrorist infrastructures in hospitals used by the terrorist organization Hamas; at the Shifa hospital, terrorist infrastructures, an operational tunnel shaft and a vehicle prepared for a massacre on 7/10 containing many weapons were uncovered. The full article >>

Hopefully this tunnel connects to the rest of the tunnels under Shifa.
Glad they were able to find a shaft that appears to be accessible from what was an outbuilding or something like it. MOO
