It's a foregone conclusion that anyone educated by the Hamas government during the past 17 years will rebuild Gaza exactly as it is today. That cannot happen because it is a threat to all civilized societies.

The US funds 29% to the UN for Gaza. The US has supported them for years.
Moo, I do think the US has a dog in this race. If not, we need to take a serious look at the future.

As we have learned, much of the monies have been abused, funded terrorist and funded schools promoting war and hate. Are we not aiding our enemy?

I mean they were to scared to go outside to pick up fuel, but not to scared to dig a mass grave.

About 300 US citizens have left Gaza - state department​

Some information now on efforts to allow foreign passport holders wanting to leave Gaza to exit through the Rafah crossing into Egypt.

The US State Department says nearly 700 American citizens, legal permanent residents and family members have now left the territory, of which around 300 are US citizens.

Speaking at a press briefing, spokesperson Matthew Miller says there are around 900 others still remaining in the Palestinian enclave.

Hostage found dead was a 65-year-old grandmother and cancer patient​

We can bring you a little more information about Yehudit Weiss, the hostage whose body the Israeli military say they have recovered from a structure next to Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza.

She was a 65-year-old "cancer patient whose husband Shmuel was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7", the Israeli foreign ministry said.

The Bring Them Home website about the hostages held in Gaza describes her as "a loving full-time grandmother" who loved culture, sports, travelling and baking.

WHO says 'perfect storm' threatening Gazans' health​

"If the bombs don't kill people in Gaza, the diseases will," Dr Margaret Harris, a spokesperson for the World Health Organization (WHO), has told BBC Radio 4.

Harris says Palestinians in Gaza are facing "rampant gastroenteritis", limited clean water, pouring rain, a sewage system that doesn't work, with huge numbers of people living in tents.

"You don’t have to be a public health expert to realise how disastrous this is," she adds, calling the situation "a perfect storm".

The Gazans elected a party that had built NO infrastructure, that has stolen billions of dollars of aid, whose leaders all live in luxury hotels and yachts in other countries and who demand war AND recently came out and said they are not interested in ruling Gaza. And yet the people of Gaza still are behind them. It/when there is be a cease fire, I don't think the people of Gaza get a say. The Japanese after WW2 didn't get much say, the Germans didn't get much say. Were they all responsible for the horrors of the war? It didn't matter, they were held to account and there simply was no other way. Same here. there just simply is no other way. Gaza's surrender will have to be unconditional.

You're right, it isn't for any of us to decide. The U.S. goal is for Gaza to become a State which will mean Palestinians will be in charge of its government. I seriously doubt the other Arab countries will allow Hamas to continue to exist. Not after the war crimes they have committed.

Finally. The arrest should have come earlier:

The police stated that their investigation was greatly hampered because of the very contradictory statements (no surprise there) made by the opposing groups regarding who crowded whom, who said what to whom and who approached who aggressively.

But.... one undsputable fact was that Kessler was dead. And.... the police knew who threw the megaphone. I am sure that the investigation also quickly revealed that:

- Kessler was elderly. He was not say, 35 years old with a history of seeking out and confronting pro Palestinian protestors or people expressing support for Palestine.
- He was unarmed.
- There was no evidence that Kessler had been involved in a mutual brawl with Palestinian supporters.
- Pretty sure a search of his social media would not have revealed a willingness to provoke Palestinian supporters until things escalated.

So, Death + Identity of the megaphone thrower should have led to a speedy arrest and charging.

Negotiations started with 240 hostages in exchange for 6000 criminals. That changed to 70 hostages in exchange for a 5 day ceasefire. Then it was 50 hostages for a 3 day ceasefire. It doesn't sound good when the number of hostages they negotiate with is reduced over 5 weeks.

I think hope will be restored when a living hostage is found.

I guess the hostages are kept in groups.

I would be amazed if terrorists decided to free ALL at once.

They need these poor people for MANY reasons.

Does that include funding themselves and providing for the citizens? Then I'm all for it. But....to turn over keys to the coffers to the same group or without control, will result in the same outcome years from now.

'Strong indications' hostages were at Al-Shifa hospital - Netanyahu​

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says there were "strong indications" hostages held by Hamas had been at Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital.

It was "one of the reasons we entered the hospital", he says in an interview with CBS Evening News.

Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of housing a major base underneath Al-Shifa - which Hamas denies.

Forces entered the hospital on Wednesday, but Netanyahu says that when they arrived, the hostages were no longer there.

"If they were [there], they were taken out," he says..

He says his government has "intelligence about the hostages," but adds "the less I say about it, the better".

Over the last 24 hours, we have been asked every which way about the initial find of Hamas weapons and explosives found in #AlShifaHospital. Too many journalists jumped to the conclusion that if we can’t immediately show the entire fortress of terror to the world, then it doesn’t exist. Someone once said that patience is a virtue. It’s a shame that the world media aren’t willing to understand that over the last 16 years Hamas built the terrorist infrastructure, and terror tunnel network. Since they launched the war on Israel on October 7, they’ve been planning for the day IDF reached the hospital. The IDF since the beginning of the war has been encouraging people to leave the hospital premises, basically announcing our intended arrival (potentially putting our forces at risk). We know that Hamas’ concept of operations is to use Hospitals, today we revealed another layer. Hamas denied using hospitals. Hamas denied killing civilians. Hamas denied abduction of hostages.Why does anybody still believe anything Hamas says?This terrorist army butchered babies in their bedrooms, we can’t believe a word they say. Everyday we are one step closer to a world where #Hamas doesn’t hold the powers of government to recruit, build, equip, train and execute attacks against Israel.
