Israel and Poland’s Under-21 players held their own unauthorised minute’s silence immediately after kick-off on Friday for the victims of the 7 October Hamas attacks.
The gesture in Lodz came after football governing body Uefa did not approve a moment of remembrance for the game for those affected in last month’s attacks.
Both sets of players stood in silence after the referee blew his whistle to start the game and no action took place for the opening minute. The players remained in their formational positions rather than congregating in a line for traditional pre-match tributes and there was silence around Stadium LKS.

Hamas health ministry says 24 patients dead in two days at al-Shifa

The Hamas-run health ministry has said that 24 patients have died over the past two days at al-Shifa hospital due to power cuts caused by the lack of fuel.
"Vital medical equipment has stopped functioning because of the power outage," explained ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra.
Al-Shifa has found itself on the front line. The Israeli military launched a raid on the facility on Wednesday after insisting Hamas' headquarters were located in tunnels beneath the hospital - something Hamas denies.

No humanitarian supplies were confirmed to have entered Gaza on 17 November, as of 18:00, for the third consecutive day. This is due to UNRWA’s inability to receive and distribute additional loads, because of its lack of fuel, compounded by the shutdown of telecommunications. However, one truck carrying a small amount of fuel is said to have gone in, pending confirmation.
