Well it's easy when the agenda being pushed is nothing to see here.. Israel is attacking innocent civilians.

It's funny how the narrative changes... no wonder Israel just can't win no matter what they do.

There is no fuel, it's dire.

Israel- he's some fuel

It's not enough we don't want it.

Here's a lot of fuel

Still not enough.. all while media reports there is no fuel and things are dire.

At the hospital it was all about patients dying because there wasn't fuel or supplies
IDF brings fuel and supplies.. yet they didn't take the fuel and there's still no supplies. We've seen the supplies going in??

There's no terrorists in the hospital.. nothing to see here.
They find terrorists and dead hostages and weapons and tunnels..

Sounds like IDF knew what they were talking about, but yet some still say nope that wasn't enough to prove anything.
I'm concerned about UN and hospital demands for more fuel. As soon as Hamas knows the location of the fuel, they will take it. No one will stop them, and those responsible will claim it is out of their control.

The current situation is a continuation of the hostilities not a separate item IMO.
That doesn't seem like a normal way to look at life. Imagine that everyone around the world stormed around angrily massacring people because something happened to our ancestors 80 years ago. Is that what we should be doing?

This would not surprise me at all. It's been proven that Hamas indeed has been present in the hospital(s). No doubt "the walls have ears".

I have to admit, this "he said, she said" gets really old. And journalists/media are playing it safe saying "they can't independently verify" one or the other. So we're left to doubt everything. :(

I wonder what other buildings HAMAS has "booby trapped" and then blown up? It would seem to benefit them when the media only reports that Israel is the cause of every explosion in Gaza.

Hezbollah says it fired on Israeli barracks; IDF says it retaliated with artillery fire

Hezbollah targeted the Ramim military barracks in strikes with rockets and artillery shells, achieving direct hits, according to a statement released Saturday from the Lebanese, Iran-backed militant group.

The strikes were "in support of our resilient Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip," the group said in a statement.

Separately, the IDF said in a statement that 25 launches had been identified near Kibbutz Sasa and Moshav Shtula in northern Israel, and that they were retaliating with artillery fire. No injuries were reported, the statement added.

International officials and experts are concerned that mounting tensions between Hezbollah and Israel could culminate in a wider regional conflict.

Landlines and cellular services surely aren't the only method of communication possible for humanitarian workers. Is the use of battery operated two-way radios (aka "walkie talkies") not an option? If they're concerned about Hamas monitoring channels, use a code. It's been done before elsewhere (quite successfully, I might add). jmo
Can't figure out why no satellite phones?

Every disaster I've ever been involved RC, hospitals, medical providers, media had satellite phones. Yeah, expensive like a dollar a minute. Google says, some iPhones have capabilities, with certain software.

I'm wondering if *some" were available. We heard from media and the medical director, (media interviews/updates)at least daily.

*Google has lots of information and providers

At rally, relative of hostage accuses PM of pushing goal of release further away

At the rally in Jerusalem, one relative of a hostage tells the crowd: “Fourty-three days after the pogrom, it seems the goal that is so important to us and the entire country is moving further away.”

She slams the premier for allowing fuel into Gaza and allowing humanitarian pauses, thereby “pushing us further away from the goal you yourself set.”

She adds: “The only victory photo you must seek is that of all hostages returning home to their families safe and sound as soon as possible.”

IDF starts moving ground forces into Gaza’s Zeitoun, Jabaliya

In a statement, the IDF says the Southern Command “continues expanding its operational activities in additional neighborhoods” and is working to “target terrorists and strike Hamas infrastructure.”

It says the 36th Division is operating against Hamas’s Zeitoun battalion in the Gaza City neighborhood.

The military publishes footage showing troops of the Golani Infantry Brigade — subordinate to the 36th Division — fighting Hamas operatives who fired RPGs at them in Zeitoun.

Deaths reported at UN school-turned-shelter

We are getting reports that a UN school-turned-shelter in northern Gaza has been hit, with many casualties.

The Hamas-run health ministry in the Gaza Strip told the AFP news agency that at least 50 people had been killed in an Israeli strike on the UN run Al-Fakhoura school.

The IDF says it is looking into the incident.

The BBC cannot independently verify what has happened, but we have verified footage that shows many people injured at the site, which is located in the Jabalia refugee camp.

IDF investigating reported blast at UN school in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is investigating unconfirmed reports of dozens of deaths at a UN-run school-turned-shelter in Gaza.

Footage from the scene appears to show several casualties in the Al-Fakhoura school, which is located in the Jabalia refugee camp and has been used as a shelter for displaced people.

IDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner told the BBC: "I can’t confirm this incident is IDF, but we are seeing the images like you on social media. We are looking into it.”

Asked about the evacuation at Al-Shifa hospital earlier, Lerner said the IDF has "been encouraging people to leave” for several weeks, and has been coordinating departures this morning.

He said the IDF has facilitated the flow of supplies into the hospital, and military doctors would be willing to offer medical support to injured people inside if requested.

Describing the military situation on the ground, he said: "It is a huge challenge for any professional military operating in such a hostile environment where terrorists use tunnels to come out and launch RPGs - and they do it from places like hospitals, schools, mosques, wherever they can take advantage of the humanitarian and civilian arena."

Jason Burke

Tamal Sikurel pats her belly, swollen with her sixth child, and smiles. “It is part of the war effort,” she says. Behind her is a school empty of pupils and homes empty of their former inhabitants. Beyond the buildings are dry hills sloping down to the Jordan valley.

“For thousands of generations we have always had to fight to justify our existence … I feel the power of that history every day. We have all the biblical rights, historical rights and moral right to keep ourselves safe here,” Sikurel said.

The 35-year-old and the other 500,000 Jewish settlers on the West Bank are now at the centre of a growing storm of violence and controversy as the war between Israel and Hamas moves into its seventh week. Some are motivated by religious or nationalistic reasons, and others by the cheaper cost of living. What was once seen as a pioneer lifestyle is now often very comfortable: some early settlements, once tiny rudimentary “wildcat” outposts, are now well established and wealthy, with security guards at the entrance and fences topped with cameras and barbed wire. Their population has surged 16% in the last five years.

Israeli human rights groups say settlers, already empowered by the most rightwing government in Israel’s history, have exploited the conflict to pursue their own agenda, intensifying efforts to force Palestinians out of their homes on the West Bank.

The head of the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) said on Saturday it had received “horrifying” images and footage of scores of people killed and injured in an attack on an UNRWA school in the north of Gaza.

“These attacks cannot become commonplace, they must stop. A humanitarian ceasefire cannot wait any longer,” UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said on social media platform X.

The Israeli military did not immediately comment, Reuters reported.

Al-Shifa evacuations: Several doctors from Al-Shifa told Al Jazeera on Saturday morning they had left the hospital after the IDF ordered them to evacuate – a claim the IDF denies. Dr. Munir Al-Bursh said the hospital director had received the order over a phone call when he was told to evacuate the entire hospital and instruct those leaving to wave white flags or handkerchiefs. Six doctors will stay behind to take care of 120 patients who cannot move due to poor health conditions, the Head of Plastic Surgery Ahmed El Mokhallalati wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday.

Calls for investigation: Volker Turk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, has called on Israel to grant his team access to Gaza to investigate competing claims about the Al-Shifa Hospital. Turk told CNN the situation needs an “independent international investigation because we have different narratives.” While Israel’s attack on the hospital does not necessarily breach international law, a lot rests on the accuracy of its intelligence, which has claimed Hamas is using the hospital to house a command center and military equipment. The IDF released a video showing a tunnel shaft in the grounds of Al-Shifa but is yet to offer clear evidence that the shaft has a military purpose.
