(only took 44 days)

International Committee of the Red Cross President met with Hamas' political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Qatar, demanding the "immediate release of hostages. The ICRC is insisting that our teams be allowed to visit the hostages to check on their welfare and deliver medications, and for the hostages to be able to communicate with their families."

In a delicate process, the troops watch as throngs of Palestinians pass through the humanitarian corridor – all the while soldiers try to extract Israeli hostages who may have been forced to blend in with the crowd. The residents who disavow the massacre carried out by Hamas on October 7 don’t dare to speak up. The few who do will just say something like “We don’t condone what happened.” https://bit.ly/49HDh3R

IDF: We questioned 300 terror operatives, others from Gaza willingly providing intel on Hamas

The IDF’s Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 — which specializes in HUMINT (human intelligence) — has questioned a total of some 500 Palestinians and has made millions of calls to civilians to evacuate northern Gaza since the beginning of the fighting in the Strip.

Dozens of Arabic-speaking Unit 504 soldiers are on the ground in the Gaza Strip, alongside the combat units, carrying out field interrogations and providing intelligence to forces. Unit 504 has doubled its personnel amid the fighting, and established a new sub-unit specifically for southern Israel.

[...]

It says that the terror operatives and suspects provided the interrogators with the locations of Hamas tunnel networks and weapons depots, as well as detailing the terror group’s methods of operation, including their use of human shields.

[...]

The IDF publishes three videos showing detainees detailing to Unit 504 interrogators Hamas’s use of hospitals for terror purposes. The men describe how they hid at Shifa and Rantisi hospitals, the Red Cross building, and other medical centers, while Hamas used the sites to fight against the IDF.

Unit 504 also has sources in the Gaza Strip that have been providing information that is translated into intelligence for the ground forces.

We received thousands of phone calls from [Palestinians willing to provide information] at a magnitude never before seen in the unit. It is evident that the residents of the Gaza Strip are not satisfied with the barbaric behavior of Hamas, the ordinary citizen understands that Hamas is bringing a disaster on the residents of Gaza that will be difficult for them to recover from,” the senior officer adds.

As part of the IDF’s efforts to evacuate Palestinians from northern Gaza amid the ground offensive, Unit 504 has made more than 30,000 calls, sent more than 10 million text messages, and more than nine million recorded messages to Gazan civilians. The IDF has also dropped some four million leaflets warning Palestinians of the dangers of staying in northern Gaza.

I'm seeing Red Crescent when I read the article, NOT Red Cross

(We gotta enough agencies to be mad at! - MOO. Although the ICRC somehow failed us too.
However, I am waiting for details)

On August 6th, 2001, President George W. Bush received, in his PDB, (the Presidential Daily Briefing), information entitled “Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in U.S.”

This information was not completely disregarded, as U.S. intelligence knew somewhat about him and his maniac group called Al-Qaeda.

They knew Bin Ladin was an Islamic extremist, but most of the PDB was determined to be “historical information” and not an imminent threat.

He was seen as a rich Saudi who chose to live in caves with his followers, and who had participated with the U.S. in fighting in Afghanistan. Not much credence was given to the videos he had made threatening the United States.

I don’t know where you are located nor how old you are, and it’s not my business.

But, if like me, you live in NYC…if, like me, you had a then 19-year old child working a few blocks away from the World Trade Center…, if, like me, you knew 10 people who died there…you might feel differently.

These terrorists mean what they say, they are determined and patient, and as long as Hamas’ charter demands the death of ALL Jews, then all Christians, then everyone of any other religion…plus the destruction of America…IMO believe them when they tell you who they are.

Yes and his son hamza, was on the same path.
Thank goodness he was taken out. Hate must run in the family.

Glad to see pressure is now on from within Israel.

Rights group urges IDF to end curfew in Hebron, as it applies only to Palestinians

The Association for Civil Rights in Israel has sent a legal correspondence to the IDF’s Central Command urging the army to remove the curfew it has imposed exclusively on Palestinians — and not on settlers — in the West Bank city of Hebron since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war.

Palestinian residents in the H2 area of Hebron, encompassing hundreds of families, are only allowed to leave their homes on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, for a total of six hours per week.

“Individuals from the Jewish settlements [in H2] take advantage of the forced absence of Palestinians from public spaces to seize control, damage property, break into and harm homes and shops,” ACRI says in a statement.

A cease fire is just not in Israel's best interest right now. They have Hamas on the ropes. Yes there are 200 hostages. But Hamas murdered 1500 and have said they will do it again. So, if you compare 200 to 1500 in the next slaughter, it makes no sense to cease fire. That sucks for the hostages and their families. But it is reality. Hamas must be destroyed.
It's also difficult to negotiate when the fate of the hostages already taken has not been shared. Anyone seen proof of life for any of the hostages? We've had 3 released, 2 found dead, and I believe some videos early on, but anything since?

Hostage deal getting closer:

1h ago14.46 EST

White House: 'Closer than we've ever been' to hostage deal

Joe Biden’s administration is “doing everything we can” to achieve an agreement to free hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, strategic communications coordinator for the national security council John Kirby has just told reporters at the White House.

He said the president was hopeful a deal could be reached to release all the hostages, “including young children, and of course Americans that are in that pool”:

We’re still working this hour by hour … we believe we’re closer than we’ve ever been.
So we’re hopeful. But there’s still work to be done. And nothing is done until it’s all done. So we’re gonna keep working on this.

I believe they are the same thing. I recently had a class where the role of Red Cross/Red Crescent was discussed. Some countries do not want the symbol of the cross so they have chosen to be Red Crescent. If I understood correctly, it is the same organization just allowing individual chapters to choose to be Red Cross or Red Crescent. Maybe the difference in names in this article is based on where it's from? I wasn't aware of any agency being called Red Crescent until I had the class. It makes sense why it is like that.

I don't believe any of the IDF media propaganda.

Do you consider these photos propaganda?

I must have watched this 36 sec video and looked at the screenshots about 50 times yesterday. You can also watch it in slow motion. IDF must have a s___load of info from these CCTV. I'm sure they have many, many more hours.

Someone is cooperating.

It's too bad that it took all that bombing to gain access to the video. Shifa could have released it earlier.

I think this might be another reason some of the Hamas captives are starting to talk

It's from the exact same article that Pommy Mommy linked. When I clicked the link it said Red Crescent. It was not a different source.
The local Red Crescent operates a bit like a local Red Cross. It does run the ambulance service. Ambulance drivers have been known to be affiliated with Hamas. I don't believe there is a local Red Cross chapter in Gaza.

The International Committee of the Red Cross - Humanitarian Help for People Affected by Armed Conflict

(Should be present in Gaza during a war situation)

However, in the article the Hamas guy was talking about going to the Red Crescent, which would mean ambulance services, community services etc. They are always present in Gaza 24/7/365 Palestine Red Crescent Society

There is a difference between the two agencies.

There are three parts of the global Red Cross network. Each has its own individual status and exercises no authority over the others. Learn more below

They’re cornered. They could have avoided a lot of destruction and devastation If they gave a poop about the Palestinians Of Gaza. We know how they feel about Jews. But for their own people’s sake, they could have avoided all of this. No one to blame but Hamas, everyone who enabled them and everyone who is making excuses for them.

Hamas torture and kill Gazans if they are deemed "collaborators" with Israel or supporters of Fatah.
It is no wonder the Gazans don't speak out against the terrorists. And is a reason why Hamas can go where they want and do what they want in Gaza. They rule with terror. imo

For whatever reasons, the U.S. is refusing to comment on the CCTV videos.
JMO

National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said Monday that negotiators are “getting close to the end” on the release of hostages held by Hamas – but he declined to elaborate on the details of a potential deal.

He also declined to comment on CCTV footage that Israel said shows two hostages being moved through Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza on October 7.

“I know that everybody's interested in the numbers and who they're going to be. We're working that through literally in real time with both sides. So, I think it's better if I just don't speculate about what that pool is going to look like. Obviously, we are laser focused on the American citizens that we know are being held hostage and we want them out, all of them, everybody should be out now,” Kirby said, when asked by CNN’s MJ Lee asked if any of those that might be released would be American citizens.
When asked what level of confidence the White House has that the American hostages are alive, Kirby responded, in part, saying in part: “I would say we have no indication otherwise.”

:confused::confused::confused: RIP Tiger

Tiger, an IDF dog from the Oketz canine unit, who was trained to find hidden terrorists, was killed doing his job yesterday. He revealed the location of a five-person terror cell that the IDF was able to eliminate but not before Tiger was shot multiple times.
