So, I’m thinking, the hostages that they may want to keep alive for bargaining/propaganda (etc.) purposes, may be in the tunnels where supposedly these Hamas militants are.

Idk maybe the hostages are being held above ground, but above ground they could be killed by Israeli air strikes, that’s why I’m thinking maybe they’re in the tunnels.

I wonder if these tunnels connect to other countries, etc.

Also, I’ve seen reference to the hostages’ cellphones tracking in Gaza. I wonder if IDF knows where they are.

And if so, is Hamas constantly moving these hostages….

So many questions.

This is what I’m trying to figure out, process, how and what exactly they mean by “intervene.” What does this look like. In what form, by what “tactical” means…

The words “far-reaching consequences” and “earthquake” was used.

I’m afraid they’re hinting at missiles.
Unfortunately, I'd say that's a good possibilty...

Israel will start "significant military operations" once civilians have left, IDF says

Israel will start "significant military operations" in Gaza once they see that civilians have left the area, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson told CNN.

"The important thing here to focus on is that we will commence significant military operations only once we see that civilians have left the area," Lt. Colonel Jonathan Conricus said.

"It's really important that people in Gaza know we've been very, very generous with the time. We have given ample warning, more than 25 hours... I cannot stress more than enough to say now is the time for Gazans to leave.

"Take your belongings, go south. Preserve your life, and do not fall into the trap that Hamas is setting up for you."

More than half of Gaza’s 2 million residents live in the northern section that Israel has told to evacuate. Many families, some of whom were already internally displaced, are now crammed into an even smaller portion of the 140-square-mile territory.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians have been fleeing south through the battered streets of Gaza after the Israeli military told them to leave northern areas of the densely populated strip.

Parts of the south are becoming even more crowded and overstretched, Gazans say, as waves of Palestinians abandon their homes in the wake of Israel’s statement, ahead of an anticipated ground assault by the IDF.

According to Conricus, the area around the Gaza Strip is densely packed with "hundreds of thousands of Israeli reserve units" that are preparing for various missions.

"The challenge and the mission is to have all of those more than 360,000 reservists both in the south and in the north, get them mission ready, equipped, prepared, task-forced, and ready for any assignments they will have in the future," he said.

US announces deployment of fighter jets to the Middle East

US Air Forces Central on Saturday announced the deployment of F-15E fighter jets and A-10 ground-attack jets to the Middle East region.

The movement of the warplanes from the 494th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron and 354th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, respectively, “bolster the US posture and enhance air operations throughout the Middle East,” an Air Force statement said. It did not specify the number of warplanes involved.

A US Central Command social media post said the A-10s will join another squadron of the aircraft already in the region.

“By posturing advanced fighters and integrating with joint and coalition forces, we are strengthening our partnerships and reinforcing security in the region,” Lt. Gen. Alexus Grynkewich, 9th Air Force commander, said in a statement.

@justtrish, you called it (other assets in the area). See BBM above.

Early info suggested that the hostages are kept in small groups in the tunnels. <modsnip: no link >

What were they thinking? The journalists were broadcasting a live feed of Israeli activity during hostile bombings at the Israeli border. That is an obvious threat to the Israelis. Was this the journalists first time in a war zone?

More than just another round of fighting in Gaza, Israel spokesperson says

Israeli’s military action against Hamas in Gaza aims to “dismantle” Hamas as both a military and governing organization, a spokesperson for Israeli’s government said today.

“This is not another round of fighting in the Gaza Strip, this is not another round in which Israel is aiming to deter Hamas or degrade Hamas,” spokesperson Eylon Levy said on MSNBC. “This is a war in which Israel’s aim is to dismantle Hamas.”

Hamas controls Gaza. It was elected in Gaza in 2006, and there have not been elections since. It has a military arm and a political arm.

Do you guys think Israel will be able to get any of the hostages out of Gaza alive?

I’m assuming they’ve kept at least some alive for bargaining/propaganda purposes.

I honestly don’t know what to expect as far as the hostages go.
Except for fleeting "happiness" at defeating Israeli security, is Hamas benefiting in any way from this chaos, destruction and more deaths? Is it just valuable to them to destabilize the world?

(WARNING: Graphic content) #Hamas murdered over 1,300 civilians and soldiers and kidnapped over 150 people during its attack on #Israel last week. These are just some of the horrific scenes from the assault. Watch and Sharehttp://bit.ly/3FhZh

Thank you for sharing that and for prefacing it with the graphic content warning.

I force myself to watch the graphic videos because it is the truth. I need to feel I am a witness to the victims because of the deniers out there.

This one was particularly terrible in that they desecrated the bodies so violently, but I need to feel they did not suffer and die with only Hamas to see it.

I do hope though that the family members do not see this. It is unbearable for me, a stranger, and I can’t imagine that a family member will be able to endure what happened.

I don't know how anyone can look at Hamas atrocities and view the society where they were raised as something separate. The men who did this did not wake up at the age of 18 and decide to hurt people while they are dying. This must be something they learned throughout their lives, to the point where so many young men from one society can slaughter others without conscience ... where torture is something they enjoy.

We keep hearing on the news that the people of Gaza are innocent, good, suffering people who would never harm anyone, but the brutality that we see from this generation of young men from Gaza did not happen overnight. They are a product of their education system, culture and society. I'm not convinced that the siege should end because it's uncomfortable. This isn't a gang of murders. This is a generation of men from Gaza who think like ISIS.

Iran can "hint" at whatever they like but they are also well aware of the capabilities of the U.S. aircraft carriers that have been deployed in international waters as well as how much damage U.S. sanctions have done to them in the past.

"I have directed the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (CSG) to begin moving to the Eastern Mediterranean," said Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in a statement confirming the deployment. "As part of our effort to deter hostile actions against Israel or any efforts toward widening this war following Hamas's attack on Israel."

"These posture increases were intended to serve as an unequivocal demonstration in deed and not only in words of U.S. support for Israel's defense and serve as a deterrent signal to Iran, Lebanese Hezbollah, and any other proxy across the region who might be considering exploiting the current situation to escalate conflict," a senior U.S. defense official said Monday. "Those adversaries should think twice."

Israel-Hamas war live updates: Israel says it’s preparing Gaza ground attack (nbcnews.com)

Finding hostage locations will be the priority for special forces, analyst says

Special forces are most likely heading into or are in Gaza to identify areas where hostages might be held, a retired admiral and MSNBC analyst said tonight.

“What is happening is special forces are flooding into Gaza City, They’re attempting above all to find and fix the location of these hostages,” James Stavridis, retired admiral and MSNBC chief international analyst, said on the network.

Stavridis said that Israel’s military, which has ground forces around Gaza, could also go in by the sea.

Bragging rights.
Thats why they had GoPro devices. To record their accomplishments.

And to kill all Israelis and Jews.
