(Wow that got me teary when they hugged)

Any chance they were waiting for Biden to arrive before moving tanks in? (Kind of like we’re going in, AND we’ve got the US behind us with the President on the ground…extra show of solidarity kind of thing…just a thought :)
snipped

yesterday a link stated that ground invasion expected once Biden has departed, not while he's still there ( unfortunately that link is probably back on thread 4)

fuller statement
Biden has said Hamas has “committed evil atrocities that make Isis look somewhat rational.”

He said “We have to also bear in mind that Hamas does not represent all the Palestinian people, and has brought them only suffering.”

The US president also said “I’m deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday. Based on what I’ve seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you. But there’s a lot of people out there not sure, so we have to overcome a lot of things.”

He said the US would give Israel what it needed to defend itself. He finished by saying the bravery of the Israeli people was stunning, and he was proud to be there.

This enraged world is full of so-called refugees, mostly young men who the world leaders let in, in millions, without any adequate vetting. Now the world, of course, is afraid of own newcomers because, as this very summer has shown, they can burn cars and make explosions in own quarters.

Tomorrow there will be more shouts of enragement.

Consider this, not only Jewish people travel to Israel. Lots of Christians do, to follow via Dolorosa. My husband and son, not ethnically Jewish, once went to Israel (I refused - we already had the previous experience of buying tickets to Israel and canceling them due to Hamas-organized "election war". But this time, my guys wanted to "swim in three seas", so they tried again). They rented a car and drove all around. Met a lot of Americans on their way, befriended some guys from Utah. Not every traveller to Israel is Jewish. Not everyone comes on "birth rights", not everyone serves in Israeli army. It is a popular tourist destination. And how many go to Israel and then, to Petra? I was trying to imagine my family choosing to do it today and God forbid, some jihadists abducting them because little do they care? My point is - we forget how many foreigners have been kidnapped, too. How much pressure on Israel comes from the relatives, from the international community... I wish the Israeli intelligence could trace the money paid to Hamas, by all interested parties. And - one stray rocket can fall everywhere during the war, regardless of who launches it. But who started this war? Hamas, and those standing behind it.
I think almost every church in the US has a Holy Land tour. My daughter almost went with unknown, random church because the price was so cheap. We talked her out of it because they group had a very different lifestyle than her and I don't think she would have had much fun.

What you need to know about Biden's wartime trip to Israel (NPR)

“What does Biden hope to accomplish in Tel Aviv?

Biden has taken a strong pro-Israel stance after the Hamas attacks, saying that it was the most deadly attack on Jewish people since the Holocaust, and that Israel has a right to defend itself. Kirby said 31 U.S. citizens were among the dead and 13 Americans remain unaccounted for.

Biden wants to get an update from Israeli military officials on their strategy and the pace of their operations when he meets with Netanyahu and his war cabinet, Kirby said. The trip comes as Israel prepares for a ground offensive in Gaza, and Biden wants to learn more about the objectives and plans for coming days and weeks, Kirby said.

"He'll be asking some tough questions - he'll be asking them as a friend, as a true friend of Israel but he'll be asking some questions of them," Kirby said.”

Right, in addition to everything else, let’s not forget this involves American citizens too!

Biden could face physical risks in flying to war-torn Middle East

President heads into area subject to rocket and bomb attacks, though experts say he will be heavily protected

“When President Biden arrives in Israel on Wednesday, he will be flying into an active war zone where hostilities are high and the course and breadth of the war between Israel and Hamas remain extraordinarily unpredictable.”

[…]

“Adding to the risks of Biden’s trip was a deadly airstrike on a Gaza hospital on Tuesday that killed at least 500 people, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. Palestinian officials say an Israeli airstrike hit the hospital courtyard where displaced Gazans were taking shelter, while the Israel Defense Forces blamed an errant rocket from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group, saying “a barrage of rockets” was passing near the hospital when it was hit.”

[…]

“A White House official said Biden “looks forward to consulting in person with these leaders soon, and agreed to remain regularly and directly engaged with each of them over the coming days.”

Some security experts said the physical risk to Biden would be relatively small despite the chaos in the region. Biden is one of the most protected people on the planet, they said, and Air Force One is equipped with sophisticated air defense systems that can thwart incoming rockets and missiles.

“Perhaps the safest plane on planet Earth is Air Force One,” said Bilal Saab, senior fellow and director of the Middle East Institute’s Defense and Security Program. “Air Force One is perfectly capable of handling any kind of missile launch or rocket launch inside Gaza.”

Still, it’s a rarity for a president to travel directly into a region where hostilities are intensifying, with an Israeli ground incursion into Gaza expected within days and fears that the militant group Hezbollah might enter the fray. Biden faces at least some risk when he is on the ground in Tel Aviv, a city Hamas rockets are able to reach. In Amman, which Biden had planned to visit after his stop in Tel Aviv, the situation remains combustible.

“Being in an active area of hostilities, they have to look very carefully at the threats that Israel is facing now, understanding that the president will be on the ground,” said Jonathan Lord, senior fellow and director of the Middle East Security program at the Center for a New American Security. “So they’re definitely thinking about Israel’s air defense capabilities and protecting the president from Hamas rockets.”

I always dream about visiting Israel, back in the 1980's my High School Teacher visited it and talked to us about Masada and the places. I wanted to visit for history so many eras of culture been there over the centuries walk among the history. My Understanding Partner thought it be interesting to see me visit Masada as I have a fear of heights.

It saddens me with what has happened .
I in a private Social Media Group(regarding photos) through this we have a few people who are Iiveing in Israel, we are keeping tabs on them One who I named A, woman with two young children she is or former home is right there she showed us the fire in her area. She been told to go home but she deems it no safe for her children, the Bomb shelter is so old where her old home is, she had been staying with a Host Family but was told to leave as the Host Family needed room for their family members who are now seeking shelter. Herself and Children are now moving house to house the last few days. She does no care about religion or Politic, she just wants to go home ,be safe with her Children have a routine, many are like they are confused in what happened and in deep fear. Our group has ask them to check in each day, so we know they are okay (okay is not a good choice of words in regard to the situation)but it is only a small way we can help.

There are currently foreign nationals from more than 40 countries being held hostage by Hamas

A British teenager missing and feared kidnapped after Hamas targeted Israeli kibbutzim was murdered during the attack, relatives have confirmed.

Yahel Sharabi, 13, was originally believed missing and possibly taken hostage after the raid on Be’eri kibbutz two miles from the Gazan border in which her Bristol-born mother, Lianne, was killed.

Her sister Noiya, 16, who is a British citizen like Yahel, and their Israeli father, Eli, are still missing.

Yahel was described as “full of adventure and mischief”. In a statement to BBC News on Tuesday, relatives said:
Beautiful Yahel. A bundle of unbridled energy and joy, with a cheekiness that you could not help but smile at and a brain which was sharp as a tack. Full of adventure and mischief, we will forever miss her, but are grateful for the light she brought into our lives in the too short time she was with us.
Two British teenage sisters are among those missing after last weekend’s Hamas attack on Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to US President Joe Biden: "Mr. President, Joe, I want to thank you for coming here today and for the unequivocal support you have given Israel during these trying times, a support that reflects the overwhelming will of the American people."

Thoughts? anybody?

Do the deaths at the hospital change the calculus for Israels' offensive?

Secondly, has it also made Iran's proxies more likely to get more involved?

Regardless of the facts, the region is now red-hot ( protests over night at various locations as we've seen & several ME leaders not waiting for facts & attributing blame) Also, nations more friendly to Israel - like UAE - calling for a ceasefire

Islamic Jihad can go on TV and admit that it was their error and the world will still blame the IDF. Hate is hate. When people look for reasons to hate, they will find them.

President Biden is probably wishing he stayed in Crete.

Israeli @N12News exclusive:
The moment a misfired missile from Gaza goes off course and explodes next to Al Ahli Hospital. Video was taken by our news channel’s camera stationed in the city of Netivot. Notice the time stamp (upper left side), the bottom left arrow points to where the missiles were launched from, the right arrow points to the hospital. The evidence is overwhelming. Share the truth.

I’m feeling a little nervous about both foreign and domestic threat escalation in the US.

But I’m finding some comfort in how much we have learned and improved after 9/11.

Hamas must have some insanely advanced technology. They “knew” it was an IDF air strike within 5 minutes. Yet, the IDF investigation took hours.

Ok this is troubling. According to this video, The Butcher/Sinwar is really tight with Egypt.
