I'm not sure which people you're talking about. I'm not sure what you're referring to, as being hate.
It would help if you were more specific.
Personally, I'm not motivated by hate. I think hatred is like gripping a handful of hot coals that you'd like to throw at others, meanwhile you are burning your own hand.
Hamas cares not one whit whether I hate them or not. They will not cower or feel pain because I hate them. They won't do anything differently.
Also, the world wasn't created on Oct. 7. There is a past, especially in this region, and even more importantly, there is a future.

It is something I also cannot understand.
I understand having the position that innocent civilian lives need to be protected as much as humanly possible.
I understand being sad that innocent lives are being lost in this.
I even understand those that support some type of resistance because of the living conditions that Palestinians have been living in.. (for whatever reason)
I do NOT understand supporting the types of attacks that happened Oct 7th. They didn't come in and immediately head to military bases, they didn't plant IEDs at military bases, they didn't target servicemembers or government buildings, or any other "understandable" target in a resistance type attack.
They chose to walk into homes where moms, dads, children, babies, grandparents, were having breakfast and massacre them, they went to a music festival where everyone there was an innocent person just participating in a festival.. WHY? HOW does anyone support THAT? Raping and torturing and beheading, and all of it.. it cannot be accepted as the price of war.. it is NOT war.. that is inhumane and barbaric and NOT a result of "war"

Palestinian Authority leadership held an urgent meeting Wednesday “to confront ongoing Israeli aggression” following the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital blast in Gaza City, official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
The meeting was headed by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, the news agency reported.
During the meeting, the leadership emphasized the need to prevent the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, which they considered a "red line" that cannot be crossed.
The leadership also underscored “the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves” while taking into account "international legitimacy and international law," according to WAFA.
The news agency reported that the Palestinian leadership announced their intention to follow up on legal cases alleging "war crimes" that have been filed in international courts.
The leadership also resolved to work with “all concerned parties” to provide “medical relief supplies, food, water, and electricity” to the devastated areas of Gaza.
The Palestinian leadership decided to remain in permanent session in order to follow up on developments in the situation around Gaza, WAFA reported.

Israel’s foreign minister, Eli Cohen, hinted that Israel may annex part of Gaza in a radio interview on Wednesday.

The Aussie public been busy polling (voting) in a referendum on a potential change to our Constitution. (It didn't pass.)
But Australia has for the last 20+ years listed Hamas as an entirety as a terrorist organisation, and participates in sanctions against Hamas. Link

A greeting between two world leaders--a Christian and a Jew--also DOES MATTER because it is a sincere gesture of mutual respect for religious diversity.
Any Arab who gets angry about it is likely a member of the Hamas regime who thinks it is a'okay to slaughter innocent human beings.

The world wasn’t created on October 7th, true.
But IMO the future will be different than what would have been presumed on October 6th.
The multitudes of people worldwide who are supporting this attack on Israel gives insight into the future. Right now there are protests and some violence, especially around U.S. and Israeli embassies
There have been several murders since the attack outside of Israel, on random people and one child who had nothing to do with this.
I am certain that plans are being made by Islamist extremists even as I type. Long-range plans for revenge. Plans that will come to fruition without us knowing where or when.
People like me, a lifelong New Yorker, know that we are a target city.
We all know what countries were the “Axis of Evil” in World War Two.
IMO the Axis of Evil is now Iran, Russia, North Korea and likely China. Iran is the financial underwriter of what we see happening.
Putin is buddied up with Iran. Obviously Putin is another despot who started a war in which Ukrainian civilians have been slaughtered at home, and he’s also one who will patiently wait for payback for anyone who objects to his leadership.
If Iran becomes a nuclear power, I fear for the future of all of us.

re recent opinion polls on the Israel-Hamas conflict ( there must be more than this one but regardless...)
Poll by Essential 16th Oct:
A majority of respondents want the Australian government to remain in the sidelines of the conflict (63%).
More voters think Australia should render any assistance to Israel (23%) than to Palestine (13%) – but less than half of Guardian Essential respondents (42%) think the Israeli response to the provocation from Hamas has been proportionate.
Voters are also concerned about the escalating war in Israel which was triggered by a shocking massacre of civilians by Hamas militants just over a week ago.

Who are you talking about, that supports these attacks? Such a generalized statement about 'people'. Which people?
If you're talking about Palestinians, IMO it's very unlikely they have heard or read any details of the attacks. Pretty sure they don't watch western media. They probably only heard that people in Israel were killed. And since Israel is their enemy, they don't mind.
This is just human nature during war.
