Good point!I wonder if the intended audience for that state department tweet is not domestic and not Israel?
( It's a few posts back on this thread. Could it be a smart move for the ME audience?)

I'm not sure which people you're talking about. I'm not sure what you're referring to, as being hate.Do people just want to be oppositional? Is this why I see so many people against Israel? I know we’re watching the same stuff? We’ve heard the same stories. We all know who started this on October 7, 2023. For the life of me, I cannot understand why Israel is being hated so fiercely right now. Their response is BECAUSE war came to them from hateful, soulless terrorists who are not for anyone but themselves and to feed their evil. Where’s the worldwide hate for Hamas? For the disgusting, cowardly, evil things they’ve done to innocent people. It’s just not adding up for me except that people just want to be oppositional or controversial.

“As they probably told you I was very blunt with the Israelis,” Biden told reporters on Air Force One. “Israel has been badly victimized but the truth is if they have an opportunity to relieve the suffering of people who have nowhere to go, that’s what they should do.”
“If they don’t,” he continued, “they’ll be held accountable in ways that may be unfair.”
Oh you’re right. I’m so sorry. I ranted after scrolling social media. Not here. I haven’t seen any hate here.I'm not sure which people you're talking about. I'm not sure what you're referring to, as being hate.
It would help if you were more specific.
Personally, I'm not motivated by hate. I think hatred is like gripping a handful of hot coals that you'd like to throw at others, meanwhile you are burning your own hand.
Hamas cares not one whit whether I hate them or not. They will not cower or feel pain because I hate them. They won't do anything differently.
Also, the world wasn't created on Oct. 7. There is a past, especially in this region, and even more importantly, there is a future.

Israel’s foreign minister, Eli Cohen, hinted that Israel may annex part of Gaza in a radio interview on Wednesday.
Cohen was reported by the Times of Israel as saying:

unfortunately I can't find any polling for other nations at the moment. ( Canada, Aus, rest of Europe) will try again another time
BBM. What an absurd and incendiary comment for a reporter to make! She should be fired.Biden visit boosts Israel, but also reinforces Arab anger

Even more than Joe Biden’s emotional words of support, the photo of him hugging the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has placed him solidly in Israel’s corner at the most explosive moment in its war with Hamas.
No matter who fired the rocket which killed hundreds of people at the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, this image will reinforce Arab anger not only towards Israel, but the United States.
Even though the US president has negotiated access for desperately needed aid into the besieged enclave, his visit will tie him to the results of Israel’s military campaign there.
Protesters in Arab capitals have already accused Washington of giving Israel a green light.
Some are chanting “Death to America,” including in Bahrain, a close American ally and one of only two Arab states to explicitly condemn the Hamas attack.
Idk Every single Israeli official has said the complete opposite. Why is this not being discussed more in the news? Seems like a massive development, doesn’t it?

thanks, you've prompted me to do a quick searchThe Aussie public been busy polling (voting) in a referendum on a potential change to our Constitution. (It didn't pass.)
But Australia has for the last 20+ years listed Hamas as an entirety as a terrorist organisation, and participates in sanctions against Hamas. Link

Australia stands with Israel, and always will.
Just as we always remember the thousands of years of persecution and atrocities perpetrated against the Jewish people…
The six million European Jews killed in the Holocaust…
We must maintain mutual respect for each other here at home – we must preserve our uniquely harmonious multicultural character.
It is why people come to this country.
It is who we are as a country.
Who are you talking about, that supports these attacks? Such a generalized statement about 'people'. Which people? It is something I also cannot understand.
I understand having the position that innocent civilian lives need to be protected as much as humanly possible.
I understand being sad that innocent lives are being lost in this.
I even understand those that support some type of resistance because of the living conditions that Palestinians have been living in.. (for whatever reason)
I do NOT understand supporting the types of attacks that happened Oct 7th. They didn't come in and immediately head to military bases, they didn't plant IEDs at military bases, they didn't target servicemembers or government buildings, or any other "understandable" target in a resistance type attack.
They chose to walk into homes where moms, dads, children, babies, grandparents, were having breakfast and massacre them, they went to a music festival where everyone there was an innocent person just participating in a festival.. WHY? HOW does anyone support THAT? Raping and torturing and beheading, and all of it.. it cannot be accepted as the price of war.. it is NOT war.. that is inhumane and barbaric and NOT a result of "war"
Ummm....Why is this not being discussed more in the news? Seems like a massive development, doesn’t it?
