From this morning:

The Israeli Air Force once again dropped Leaflets over the Northern Gaza Strip today with them stating:

- Urgent Warning! -

To the Residents of Gaza, Your Presence to the North of Wadi Gaza is putting your Lives at Risk. Anyone who chooses not to Evacuate from the North of the Gaza Strip to the South of the Gaza Strip may be Identified as a Partner in a Terrorist Organization.”

leaflet 1.jpg leaflet 2.jpg

PS: The restraint that Israel has shown also highlights the vast difference in HAMAS and Israel. Warning after warning after warning. Did or would HAMAS do that? Not a chance.. they came like a thief in the night and celebrated the shock and awe if it while they committed the worst offences one can commit on another person, even recording the carnage.

It’s baffling to me that the world does not distinguish between Israel and the terrorists.

There’s no mystery here, though. Despite the fact that Israel is only trying to extinguish terrorists, despite the fact that they’ve given multiple notices in advance to protect civilians, despite the fact that the terrorists‘ game plan depends upon surprise attacks, the Arab world is far more populous than the Jewish world and their people hear what they want to hear. They are not interested in the truth. Not all…I have Muslim friends…but those in Arab lands seem to close their eyes and ears, gaslighting the rest of the world.

How can they be taken seriously when they declare they didn’t hurt civilians?

IMO

Rumors are that the Crew onboard the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) in the Eastern Mediterranean have been served Steak & Lobster tonight for Dinner which is usually reserved for either Holidays (Which today isn’t) or News which is expected to Lower the Crew’s Morale like a Deployment Extension or possible something else.

is it propaganda or if you run a hospital and you're running out of electricity, might it be true?
We did hear, for days last week, that there was a great number of pregnant women due to give birth imminently

Doctors in Gaza have warned that 130 premature babies are in “imminent danger due to a lack of fuel”.

“The world cannot simply look on as these babies are killed by the siege in Gaza,” Melanie Ward, the chief executive of Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), said in a statement.

“We call on world leaders to demand that Israel urgently allows fuel in to Gaza’s hospitals,” she added.

According to MAP, there are only six neonatal units at hospitals in Gaza, including Shifa and Nasser hospitals.

Investigation documentation of a terrorist who participated in the attack: "The Hamas leadership deceived us"

Video at link:

(Ch13 is Israel is one of 3 of Israel’s news television)

I truly hope Israel can gather actionable intelligence from captured terrorists, but IMO he is in strictly CYA mode.

”Oh, I’ve been deceived!”

”Hamas leaders live elsewhere and we are just guys following their orders.”

I hope there are repentant terrorists but I just don’t believe him. What is he telling the IDF that they didn’t already know? All of Hamas knew their leaders live plush lives in other countries, and Israel knows that as well.

I hope to be wrong and he gives helpful information. I hope.

Quick question for those members who follow the IDF and government comms closely.

Do you think that Bibi believes that if Hezbollah gets drawn in, that USA and allies are going to be actively involved in conflict too?
replying to self so as to bump up the question again & leave it hanging before I sign off

War cabinet tours south to see ground offensive preparations, Netanyahu booed

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of the war cabinet toured southern Israel earlier today to see the military’s preparations for the expected ground offensive into Gaza.

The top security body consists of Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister Benny Gantz.

With news of Netanyahu’s arrival at the southern command in Beersheba, several Israelis turned up to protest against him and called on him to resign.

“These are the last days of your corrupt regime,” one man called out to him.

A spontaneous demonstration a short time ago in front of Netanyahu who arrived in Beer Sheva: "You piece of zero criminal, these are your last days in this regime... a corrupt prime minister who abandoned us all, the three fighters from my settlement who are kidnapped, the six dead from my family..."

Sad, but their is political division in every country, and it is always amplified when there is a crisis.

Hamas now says it will release the two hostages tomorrow. Can't tell if more psychological warfare or if they are just indecisive

For those who can't view the tweet - this is an update to an earlier tweet which read:

Hamas military wing spokesman Abu Obeida claims the terror group informed Qatar yesterday that they would release two hostages held in the Gaza Strip, but that Israel refused to accept them. No immediate comment from Israeli officials.
Me thinks Israel did not accept Hamas' demands!

Who is Orley Barlev anyway? Her X (twitter) account says he is an independent journalist and activist with an interest in government corruption. So I guess this post fits her narrative.

Anyway, she is not MSM and has an agenda.

JOINT STATEMENT BY UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP AND WHO ON HUMANITARIAN SUPPLIES CROSSING INTO GAZA

NEW YORK/GENEVA/ROME, 21 October 2023 – “A first, but limited, shipment of life-saving humanitarian supplies from the United Nations and the Egyptian Red Crescent entered Gaza today on 20 trucks, passing through the Rafah Crossing.

“It will provide an urgently needed lifeline to some of the hundreds of thousands of civilians, mostly women and children, who have been cut off from water, food, medicine, and other essentials. But it is only a small beginning and far from enough.

[…]

Children, pregnant women and the elderly remain the most vulnerable. Nearly half of Gaza’s population are children.

“With so much civilian infrastructure in Gaza damaged or destroyed […] including shelters, health facilities, water, sanitation, and electrical systems, time is running out before mortality rates could skyrocket due to disease outbreaks and lack of healthcare capacity.

“Hospitals are overwhelmed with casualties. Civilians face mounting challenges in accessing essential food supplies. Health facilities no longer have fuel and are running on small amounts they have secured locally. These are expected to run out in the next day or so. Water production capacity is at 5 per cent of normal levels. Pre-positioned humanitarian supplies have already been depleted. Vulnerable people are at greatest risk and children are dying at an alarming rate and being denied their right to protection, food, water and health care.

[…]

“We call for a humanitarian ceasefire, along with immediate, unrestricted humanitarian access throughout Gaza to allow humanitarian actors to reach civilians in need, save lives and prevent further human suffering. Flows of humanitarian aid must be at scale and sustained, and allow all Gazans to preserve their dignity.

“We call for safe and sustained access to water, food, health […]

“We call for the protection of all civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza, including healthcare facilities.

“We call for the protection of humanitarian workers in Gaza who are risking their lives for the service of others.

“And we call for the utmost respect of international humanitarian law by all parties.

“Gaza was a desperate humanitarian situation before the most recent hostilities. It is now catastrophic. The world must do more.”

Although I note that, "I was just following orders" is not a legal defence for war crimes.

What took place in the Kibbutz Be'eri can only be described as a massacre, with shocking stories of families caught up in unimaginable horror. Sky's Anna Botting speaks to the soldiers and first responders who share what they witnessed.

Hours after Hamas released an American woman and her daughter who were taken captive during the brutal attack on Israel on Oct. 7, humanitarian aid has begun to enter Gaza. The territory has been under a blockade since those attacks, with no food, water, medicine or fuel entering. Over a million people have been displaced. Christina Ruffini has more.

Israeli tanks are lined up at the country's southern border as many anticipate a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Israel warned citizens in Jordan and Egypt to leave the countries immediately because of concerns that they could be targeted. Roxana Saberi has more.
Reposting the first video here as it is now unavailable at the link above. Some horrific stories told by the responders and scenes of the homes in Kibbutz Be'eri. I just can't imagine... :(

Israeli Arabs arrested over Gaza social media posts

By Sara Monetta
BBC News, Jerusalem

Dozens of Arab citizens of Israel have been arrested in connection with social media posts about the war in Gaza.

Among them is a well-known singer and influencer from Nazareth, Dalal Abu Amneh, who was held in police custody for two days before being released on Wednesday on bail. She's now under house arrest until Monday.

According to her lawyer, Abeer Baker, she was accused of "disruptive behaviour" by police officers, who said her posts could incite violence among her followers.
The post that attracted police attention was an image of the Palestinian flag with the Arabic motto: "There is no victor but God."

Ms Baker says the singer, who is well known across the Arab world for her songs about Palestinian heritage, was expressing a religious sentiment. Israeli authorities interpreted the singer's post as a call to arms for Palestinians.

Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, police in Israel have adopted what they call a "zero tolerance policy" towards social media activity deemed to express support for Hamas, an Islamist group which is committed to the destruction of Israel and designated as a terrorist group by Israel, as well as the US, UK, and many other countries.

[…]

Many others have been suspended or sacked from their jobs or face disciplinary action from their universities.

[…]

"Anyone inciting against the State of Israel, its government symbols, elected officials, military personnel and police, should be aware that the Israel Police will respond firmly and without leniency," said Israel's Police Commissioner, Yaakov Shabtai, at a meeting with senior leaders this week.

[…]

Human rights activists worry this spike in detentions is due to the police adopting a wider interpretation of what constitutes incitement to violence.

IDF hits Hezbollah posts in south Lebanon, says soldier seriously hurt in missile attack

The Israel Defense Forces says it struck a Hezbollah position in southern Lebanon from which an anti-aircraft missile was launched at an Israeli drone.

The IDF says the missile was intercepted by air defenses, and the military drone was not damaged.

Separately the IDF says fighter jets struck a series of Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon in response to several missile attacks on the border today, claimed by the terror group.

The IDF also releases for publication that an Israeli soldier was seriously wounded and two others were lightly hurt in one of the missile attacks today, near the northern community of Bar’am.

It’s such a conundrum.

Of course Israel and the families want every hostage released unharmed.

If it were my own family, I would pay heaven and earth to bring them home safely.

But the bigger picture is dreadful.

We all know about Gilad Shalit. It was so vital to Israel to have him returned from captivity. They believe in saving life. It took five years and the release of 1,000 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails to effect his release.

I would want to do that too if it were my family member, I know it, but what was the consequence?

Those terrorist prisoners slithered back to Gaza and became the leaders and perpetrators of these heinous attacks.

Sinwar, for example, now leading Hamas in luxury in Qatar, was one of them. Ultimately, what happens?

We’ve seen what happens. Now there are 1400 dead Israelis, mostly civilians, and 200+ hostages. So, IMO, even though it was vital to free Shalit, the math here is very, very deadly.

(If only Sinwar could look at what his name signifies in English. Sin. War. War is a sin).

IMO

Israel's foreign ministry: "Unfortunate" some at Cairo summit "had difficulty condemning terrorism"

Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is "unfortunate" that some of those attending the Cairo peace summit Saturday "had difficulty condemning terrorism or acknowledging the danger."

"It is unfortunate that even when faced with those horrific atrocities, there were some who had difficulty condemning terrorism or acknowledging the danger," the ministry said in a statement posted by its spokesperson on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Israel will do what it has to do and expects the international community to recognize the righteous battle."

A final joint statement was not issued after the summit ended, due to "differences" between the delegations on the wording, an official and a diplomat with knowledge on the matter confirmed to CNN on Saturday.

The Hamas attacks on October 7 were "a wakeup call to the world to fight terrorism together," the Israeli foreign ministry said. "The Islamist terror threat does not only endanger Israel, it endangers the states of the region and the whole world."
