Yes, that's why I said difficult.
Israel has to eliminate Hamas and it's sad that the terrorists are using human shields.
Which is why their deaths are ultimately at the hands of Hamas.
Israel is targeting terrorist strongholds , even 'refugee camps' that are actually high rise buildings that could be the headquarters of many terrorists.

Israel gave them time to evacuate, they even dropped leaflets.
If Hamas isn't letting them leave --which it sounds like this might be happening -- then Hamas are the murderers, not Israel.
It's sad for the children who have no choice.
Omo.
They left.
They still got bombed by Israel. Bombs dropped from planes that turn buildings into rubble are from Israel.
Hamas does not have airplanes.

They were told to go south of Wadi Gaza. But then Israel started bombing southern Gaza.
It's very sad.

I think they're far more familiar with them than anyone on the outside looking in.
So in short, YES, they most certainly know.

jmo
They have to know. The rocket launchers are in residential neighbourhoods. If they hear the rocket launch, and see an explosion across town (e.g.: hospital), they know.

I'm curious to hear more about the family of the Al Jazeera journalist. It was reported earlier that his family home was exploded, as was another home in his neighbourhood. Would Hamas want to blow up the home of an Al Jazeera journalist? Was he reporting fairly, or Hamas biased? Could also be an Hamas rocket that fell out of the sky.

One-fifth of the rockets fired by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) have been misfired in the last day, landing inside Gaza and killing civilians, the IDF said in a briefing on Saturday.

IDF Spokesman Daniel Hagari said that amounts to more than 550 rockets.

“They are killing their own people,” he said.
That just sounds like more propaganda from Israel to defend their attacks on civilians.

The real issue is the fact that Israel is intentionally firing rockets at civilians without providing them any warning. Israel has claimed Hamas terrorists were in the area yet have not provided any proof. Allies know Amnesty International has gathered proof of war crimes by Israel and Hamas.

Which is why all of the Big 5 intelligence chiefs, US, Canada, Australia, UK and New Zealand made it clear on 60 Minutes that our focus is in protecting military installations and our citizens taken hostage.
JMO

As Israeli forces continue to intensify their cataclysmic assault on the occupied Gaza Strip, Amnesty International has documented unlawful Israeli attacks, including indiscriminate attacks, which caused mass civilian casualties and must be investigated as war crimes.

The organization spoke to survivors and eyewitnesses, analysed satellite imagery, and verified photos and videos to investigate air bombardments carried out by Israeli forces between 7 and 12 October, which caused horrific destruction, and in some cases wiped out entire families.

Here the organization presents an in-depth analysis of its findings in five of these unlawful attacks. In each of these cases, Israeli attacks violated international humanitarian law, including by failing to take feasible precautions to spare civilians, or by carrying out indiscriminate attacks that failed to distinguish between civilians and military objectives, or by carrying out attacks that may have been directed against civilian objects.

“In their stated intent to use all means to destroy Hamas, Israeli forces have shown a shocking disregard for civilian lives. They have pulverized street after street of residential buildings killing civilians on a mass scale and destroying essential infrastructure, while new restrictions mean Gaza is fast running out of water, medicine, fuel and electricity. Testimonies from eyewitness and survivors highlighted, again and again, how Israeli attacks decimated Palestinian families, causing such destruction that surviving relatives have little but rubble to remember their loved ones by,” said Agnès Callamard, Amnesty International’s Secretary General.

Recorded: Hamas Terrorist Calls Father With Murdered Woman's Phone to Celebrate The Oct. 7 Massacre

Oct 25, 2023
“Look how many I killed with my own hands! Your son killed Jews!”

Listen to a phone call of a Hamas terrorist calling home, bragging about how many people he massacred.

The whole world needs to hear this.

Israeli military aircraft dropped thousands of leaflets on the northern Gaza Strip Friday warning residents in that part of the Palestinian territory to evacuate to its southern half.

[...]

In response, Hamas called on Palestinians to stay put in their homes, according to The Associated Press.

On October 7, Israel gave warning. They said to the people in the North of Gaza "Get out!" They have dropped a forest worth of leaflets. They've said repeatedly, "Get out." It's absurd to accuse them of giving no warning. At a certain point in time, you have to assume that the people who are there aren't leaving, and the military actions must proceed. Those who support hamas are hamas, not Innocent civilians.

One of the past articles posted here mentioned Hamas standing guard and not allowing people towards the border. If anyone can link the article.

Exactly, because Israel cares more about the Palestinians than hamas ever has!

Red bolding mine.
Thanks for the link. ^^^

I've been wondering about this.
About 100 % certain Israel wouldn't fire on a refugee camp that may not have Hamas ?
I think Hamas did this to their residents.
Brutal and savage. :(
Omo.
It's complicated by the fact that Hamas are also Palestinian refugees. It has to do with the definition of "Palestinian Refugee", which is a unique designation. If you are the descendant of a forcefully removed Palestinian in what is now Israel, you are considered a Palestinian refugee. This program was set up in 1948. I'm sure many Hamas members fit this designation. The overwhelming number of Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank area refugees. If a Palestinian obtains Israeli citizenship or citizenship of another country, they are no longer refugees.

So much suffering could have been prevented if the UN would have forced a mandatory two state solution when they partitioned Palestine into Israel and Palestine. However, it was "recommended" and it wasn't mandatory. I hear the Palestinians didn't want it. And may have fired the first shot in the war 1958 war. But I also hear the Israelis (not sure who to believe) Either way, it allowed a war to break out with no real way to stop the war. The Palestinians lost.

If the UN had teeth, the war could have been stopped and there would have been a two-state solution in 1948. Palestinians were forced to abandoned their land and were placed in Gaza and the West Bank. They were given refugee status.

Emphasis mine.
There are ... reasons.
Most likely it's been tried and the results were not good ?
Omo.
I'm not blaming them or saying that they should receive them. I was merely pointing out that it would seem the most logical solution. But my guess is that you are right, and that it's been tried and/or for some reason that the groups can't seem to co-exist.

I saw it earlier. It was in one of those CNN rolling news feeds. It may have been me who posted it????

Hamas militants have stopped people from approaching Rafah border crossing at times, US State Department says

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller told CNN that the sporadic presence of Hamas at the Rafah border crossing has made the situation "extremely difficult," but Egyptians are ready to take in US citizens and foreign nationals who make it to their side of the border.

"At times, Hamas has had no one there manning the border station," Miller said about the crossing, where many remain stranded in Gaza. "At other times, we have seen Hamas militants actively there with guns preventing people from approaching the crossing."

@Gypsy Road

Clearly your “po-dunk Southern city” has produced a person of compassion, and I truly appreciate the support!

There’s been a police car in front of my synagogue for a few years now, right here in NYC where there are so many Jews. I figured there were threats from somewhere, but obviously not on a panic level.

Now the hatred is out in the open and violent attacks are ricocheting around the city. Worse than before.

What was insidious is now invidious. From sneaky harmful, to overtly harmful.

IMO
Didn't know if this was already posted ?
This is not o.k..
Thankful no one was hurt.

That story was proven false.

Are these Palestinian students, American? If not, they don't need to be and shouldn't be here. Send them packing.

Has Hamas attacked Israel in other instances prior to 2023?

“Since it seized power in Gaza in 2007, Hamas has provoked multiple major confrontations with Israel, including a 22-day war in 2008-2009; an eight-day war in 2012; a 50-day war in 2014; a series of coordinated attacks in 2018 and 2019; and an 11-day war in May 2021.”

“The Palestinian Authority (PA) ruled Gaza for two years, until 2007, when Hamas waged a brief but violent war against the PA. Since then, Hamas and other terrorist groups have launched thousands of rockets and mortars toward Israel, used Palestinian civilians as human shields to protect their personnel and facilities, and terrorized the Israeli communities near Gaza.”

Agreed, and yes I understand.

There are times a few radicals will make it hard for the more peaceful elements ?
There are varying levels of radicals, though.
Some are far worse than others.
Some will march with signs, shout through a megaphone, or block highways.
Others will paraglide into a neighbor who had done them no wrong and slaughter innocents, sparing no one-- neither the elderly nor the unborn.

MARGARET BRENNAN: We'll stay tuned. In terms of what's happening in Gaza. I know there are an estimated 500-600 Americans there. There are only two ways out. One is through the Rafah gate to Egypt. It does not appear any Americans have made it out that way. There's also another Erez Crossing into Israel. Is there any chance Israel lets some of those Americans out or Egypt allows some of those Americans in?

SECRETARY BLINKEN: We have- you're exactly right. We have several hundred Americans and other nationalities, other civilians from- from other countries who want to leave Gaza. We've had people come to Rafah, the crossing with Egypt. And to date, at least, Hamas has blocked them from leaving, showing once again, its total disregard for civilians of any kind who are- who are stuck in Gaza. ...
