How many civilians has Israel killed excluding Hamas soldier militants, 550 misfired missiles from Hamas into Gaza, and the Hamas misfire into the Gaza hospital?

I suspect that the number is low.
According to Netanyahu, that number includes thousands of terrorists. Yet, he won't give an accurate count himself. So, ask him!

"We have already killed thousands of terrorists and this is only the beginning," Netanyahu said.

7 hours ago:

Powerful, poignant, dignified, gracious, moving, hope-filled, and heartbreaking.

This is Hersh Goldberg-Polin, the son of the mother above. Anderson realized he had seen him in an unreleased video from a soldier and informed his parents:

—-

Horrifying footage shows Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin after Hamas terrorist blew off his arm and then bundled him into the back of a truck - as heartbroken dad says 'we have no proof of life'

  • The parents of the 23-year-old Israeli-American young man remain laser focused on getting their son back home
  • New footage from the morning of the Hamas attack shows Hersh, with his left arm blown off, being loaded into the bed of a pickup truck
  • They say they are fighting to maintain the hope that he is alive in Gaza, but struggle to keep negative thoughts at bay

The Gaza Strip’s biggest hospital, Al-Shifa, has only enough fuel to keep power on for three days, said Matthias Kannes, a Gaza-based official for Doctors Without Borders.

OCT 12, 2023
At al-Shifa Hospital, medical personnel estimated fuel supplies could last three to four days at most.

OCT 16, 2023
The Associated Press | October 16, 2023 at 4:19 a.m.
Hospitals in Gaza are expected to run out of generator fuel within two days...

... Hundreds of people with severe blast injuries have come to the hospital, where fuel is expected to run out by today, said Dr. Mohammed Qandeel, a consultant at the critical care complex.

OCT 18, 2023
Shifa Hospital, where victims of the al-Ahli Hospital blast were taken, will run out of fuel on Wednesday unless more supplies enter the Gaza Strip, the hospital’s general director says.

OCT 19, 2023
Gaza's only oncology hospital is suffering under the Israeli-imposed "total blockade," and is running out of fuel, water and medicines.

OCT 23, 2023
The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees said Sunday it has enough fuel to last three days to serve critical needs.

OCT 25, 2023
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) warned it would have to halt operations on Wednesday night due to dwindling fuel supplies.

OCT 25, 2023
Responding to the UNRWA’s post on X about low supplies, the IDF posted an aerial photo of what it said were fuel tanks in Gaza, and claimed they held more than 500,000 liters of fuel.
Oh dear, what will Arab leaders do to help their neighbours in Gaza? No fuel, but do Arab leaders believe it. Hamas is launching 19 days of endless rockets into Israel. That doesn't sound like a fuel shortage.

Hamas government militants in Gaza have fuel for rockets, cars, trucks, and underground tunnel oxygen supplies.

The Hamas government in Gaza is either unable, or unwilling, to transfer fuel designated for war to hospitals. Have militants in Gaza overtaken the Hamas Government in Gaza, or is the Hamas Government of Gaza stable, able and unwilling to re-allocate fuel from war to health?

Sounds like a standoff ... Hamas government in Gaza claims 6500 deaths and Israel claims thousands of terrorists. Equal; especially when you factor in 550 misfired rockets that landed in densely populated Gaza City.

Iran has a cozy relationship with hamas, and they have plenty of fuel.

Interesting. I wonder if there is a clear reason.

I know that they don't draft the only son in the family. But Netanyahu has two.

  • #847
That's an interesting pivot. We heard that the terrorists were promised an apartment and money for abducting civilians. Now the people of Gaza are promised money and relocation for revealing the location of hostages, and Hamas leaders. The assumption seems to be that they will do anything for money.

Maybe not for money, but for peace? It is one thing when local hoodlums escape in the direction of Israel, it is different when your neighborhood is bombed in return.

I couldn't help but notice this little nugget at the end:

Reuters reported on Monday that Washington advised Israel to hold off on a ground assault and is keeping Qatar - a broker with the Palestinian militants - apprised of those talks as its tries to free more hostages and prepare for a possible wider regional war.

I think Qatar knows the US and other western allies have no intention of participating in a wider regional war.

Most definitely unwilling. Militants or government doesn't matter. They are one and the same. MOO

Hamas (UK: /həˈmæs/ hə-MASS, US: /həˈmɑːs/ hə-MAHSS;[57] Arabic: حماس, romanized: Ḥamās, IPA: [ħaˈmaːs]),[58] officially the Islamic Resistance Movement (حركة المقاومة الإسلامية Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah), is a Sunni Islamist[59] political and military organization governing the Gaza Strip of the Palestinian territories.[60]

"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."[6]

Fortunately, Egypt, USA, several EU countries, Israel and others agree that supplying fuel to Gaza means prolonging the bombardment from Gaza against Israel. Supplying fuel will help the Hamas government militants more that it will help Gaza civilians and people in hospital. Hamas has fuel needed by hospitals.

The Egypt border is closed to people with dual passports to prevent terrorists with dual passports from leaving Gaza. The border is closed to fuel trucks because Gaza government wants fuel to run generators that supply oxygen to their tunnels. They will steal fuel if it is in Gaza.

There's a reason that Egypt is providing humanitarian need, but not tools of war. The problem is easily understood by neighbouring countries, but not by river to sea protesters. It's like apples and peaches - Jewish children are trapped in a NYC library with an antisemitic gang banging on the locked doors.

In preparation for the next stages of combat, the IDF operated in northern Gaza.

IDF tanks & infantry struck numerous terrorist cells, infrastructure and anti-tank missile launch posts.

The soldiers have since exited the area and returned to Israeli territory.

Footage has been released showing the Armored Assault last night by the Israeli Defense Force into the Northern Gaza Strip involving a number of Merkava Mark lV Main Battle Tanks, Caterpillar D9 Armored-Bulldozers, and Puma Armored-Engineering Vehicles; during the Assault the Bulldozers can be seen Clearing Dirt Piles near the Border Fence as well as Constructing several Paths which will likely be used during the upcoming Invasion.

Initial Reports of Anti-Air Fire being directed at Israeli Helicopters operating near the City of Khan Yunis in the Southern Gaza Strip.

The Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas are claiming to have Targeted and Struck an Israeli Helicopter operating to the East of the Al-Buriej Camp in Southern Gaza with a 9K32 “Strela-2” Man-Portable Air Defense System; so far there has been No Statement from the IDF on any such Incident.

Pure propaganda. Jewish students weren't trapped. Planned pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel protests. Approved by the college. Police were present.

Peaceful college protests are allowed in the U.S.

Police say there were no injuries, arrests or property damage, and that this was a planned demonstration. The NYPD is reviewing surveillance video. The NYPD says three community affairs officers were at the school for the planned demonstration.

Photos from hours earlier show pro-Israel students holding up enlarged signs of kidnapped Israelis, and across the way, pro-Palestinian students holding signs demanding the institution support Palestinian causes.

Off camera, several pro-Palestinian students told CBS New York they planned to protest throughout the entire school and did not target or threaten the Jewish students in the library.

Students representing the pro-Palestinian rally sent CBS New York a statement that read in part:

"We, students of Cooper Union, planned a peaceful protest to demand our institutions acknowledgement of the Israeli apartheid. This was in response to the school's one-sided stance and participation in the occupation of Palestine. We planned to peacefully protest outside the building before walking in and continuing our protest outside the president's office. We concluded our protest by calling out our demands through the hallways of the entire foundation building. When we reached the library, we were told that it was closed so we continued chanting outside the glass window of the library. Many different students of all backgrounds were in the library at the time. We would like to make it clear that our protest was not targeting any individual students or faculty, but the institution itself. We would like to reiterate that we DO NOT under any circumstance condone antisemitism and many members of the protest were Jewish."

I would like to know who organized these pro-Palestinian rallies. The police should have made videos of the participants, IMHO.

First time I have heard Rachel Polin speak... her speech is one of the most powerful and eloquent I have ever heard. I am blown away. Then speaking with Anderson Cooper afterwards it's unbelievable to me, her fortitude, courage and dignity under such horrifying circumstances.

The rallies were organized by students. Some of them Jewish. The police do have videos. I posted a link upthread.

Evidently, apartheid is a'ok with the Israeli government. Everybody else are "terrorists." Please note, Israel refuses to belong to the International Criminal Court and is now rejecting the UN. This bothers me greatly. More importantly to me, it bothers our Jewish and Muslim friends. All of them are highly educated immigrants who hold respected professional positions, especially those who hold professional degrees in the practice of medicine. I am shocked Israel isn't a party to the International Criminal Court.
JMO

In recent years, human rights organizations and legal experts have increasingly described Israel’s policies toward Palestinians as apartheid, adding to a longstanding debate about whether this is an accurate way to categorize the country’s practices.

Apartheid, a term originating from the South African government’s systematic oppression of Black residents, is a crime against humanity under international law. At its core, it refers to policies intended to elevate one racial group over another, with the goal of maintaining the dominant group’s hegemony.

In 1998, the International Criminal Court (to which Israel is not a party) defined it as “inhumane acts ... committed in the context of an institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over any other racial group ... and committed with the intention of maintaining that regime.”

Rest assured, local police recorded the videos.

[According to the Hamas constitution, peace] initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."[6]
Interestling, back in September Israel's foreign minister said something very similar "Israel will not submit to external dictates on the issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,”

"Hamas doesn't want any state ... [or] any agreements with Israel, and is not ready to recognize the Oslo agreement.

"Does the Israeli government want that?

"The current government? No."

So I guess they agree on something.
