because an interest group whined loud enough about it and Walmart pandered to their demands and lost customers. They are more dependent on seasonal profit this year. Its about the bottem line. Whats best for Walmart
Thanks, Tybee, now I see what you are saying. The part I bolded is what I consider pandering, but I see your point.

I don't see why you are only jumping on Narla, and not the person who said Buddha is a make-shift God.

Why is one ok, and not the other?
I guess you're talking to me so I'll answer. First, I didn't see the comment about Buddha. Second, I'm not a Buddhist so I don't think it's my place to set anyone straight on a religion I know nothing about. Fair enough?

I was talking to you, yes, sorry- I should have quoted.

It's right on the first page, and I guess because it jumped out at me, I assumed it did for all...

I'm not Buddhist, either. I guess I feel like I don't have to belong to a "group" in order to defend their rights.

Yep, it's Chri$$$mas time for big profits for the retailers. They make a huge percentage of their profits for the whole year out of this one holiday. If saying, "All bless Satan, our unholy ruler" got them more money, they'd say that.

You made me laugh, but I'm afraid what you are saying is true

Exactly, and the complaining has started again. :(

It certainly has. What the heck is wrong with Christians anyway? Whiniest crowd on the planet, with the possible exception of Muslims.

One would think Christians were still being fed to the lions, not just being asked to acknowledge that this is a diverse country with many different traditions and beliefs.

Absolutely - any time it's threatened - which is definitely not now.

You'll be hard pressed to find a post of mine ANYWHERE that doesn't defend any person's right to celebrate their religious holidays!

Honestly, I don't like Walmart. Period. Don't like their marketing manuevers and don't like their ploys on increasing profits at some mom and pop store's expense. It has nothing to do with religion but a profit return. I have seen too many "lost leaders" to expect a modicum of respectability. Meaning that they will lose a million dollars to shake loose a market. I think they are disgusting.

I can't see where Wind said she found it offensive, I found her above post to be quite diplomatic.

As much as I dislike Christmas, I don't mind people saying Merry Christmas to me....or hearing crappy Christmas music whilst shopping.
It just is.
I just get in, do what I have to do and pray for it all to be over lol

Christmas is one big commercial nightmare.
Hey there Ms Cat......are you going to jump to the ceiling when you open the box I have ready for ya'......the outside has.......Santa......and ....a Tree.....and
Holiday Wishes..... Ah.......but there is Spirit in the Box and I know you will
be happy. The message of Christmas is to bring out "happiness" and "memories" and I hope everyones holidays do that for them too. Whatever they might be........any and all of celebrated holidays.
Oh My......I had to add this......I have the giggles about it......
I want to visit you at Christmas time, and do that humming and singing I do in the stores.....because you called the music crappy LOLOLOL.(would we be laughing or what).. So funny, because hubby and I love to go where the music is blasting, and the carolers are singing with bugles behind them....Lehigh Mall is great for that.......come on over!!!!
we just talked about this with friends recently.

Thank you, though I was only half kidding. When I was being raised in a Christian church, we were taught our strength comes from our relationship with the Lord. Not that our faith depended on some greeter at a superstore.

Thank you.

At work, there are two of us who do not celebrate Christmas per se. I say per se because it is overwhelming offered everywhere at this time. It can hardly be avoided.

The other person who does not celebrate Christmas is a Christian. She feels it is a pagan holiday and she is mortified each year when the whole thing feels forced on her.

I don't have hugely strong feelings against Christmas. I am not a Christian. But even in my spiritual community we celebrate it "culturally". We have a party and feast. We play a "gift game". It's lighthearted. Some of our community were raised Jewish and we also acknowledge Hanukah.

I am sorry it angers Christians that they feel they need to acknowledge their fellow community who do not relate to their holiday in the same way with all this talk of "political correctness".

What is wrong with having some cultural sensitivity? We are not all alike.

I surrender to the Christmas season. For those who it makes happy, I enjoy and delight in your happiness. Merry Christmas to all of you. May Christmas bring out your best qualities.

For those, who do not have perfect families or money for presents and who feel sad at this time, I remember and can relate. Some of us have lost relatives or never had them in the first place and feel sad. May whatever brings you comfort be available in this season.

And for those of us who do not celebrate Christmas I am in your family. May we have big minds and hearts toward the majority while we honor our own truth and traditions.
May all benefit.
I actually do celebrate Christmas- with my husband's family. I married a Christian, the Christmas tree is more for me than him.;) No Nativity scenes though...

Good luck on that viewpoint Lina--

You're gonna get run over by Santa's sled if you're not careful. It's Christmas for petes sake. Celebrate it or else!
