Jailhouse snitch claims avery confessed

Can you please provide a source for that "pull within the prison system that the AAG has"?

If this alleged conversation and confession by SA to JE occurring in 2010 isn't going to be (or can't be) used by the state then (IMO) JE doesn't really have any leverage. IMO leverage would come from the usefulness and veracity of the information and the ability for the state to use that information as evidence to help convict.

Since appeals are based on the trial record and judicial rulings that might be considered reversible errors, and since this alleged confession was obtained 5 years after the murder and 3 years after SA's conviction, it might be an interesting but otherwise useless disclosure.

I'm always amazed when I read your posts. You have such a good understanding of the law! I always find your post enlightening. Just wondering, is that from following cases for a long time on WS or did you go to law school? IDK too, she seems to know quite a bit about appeals, judicial rulings etc. I have to admit, when it comes to that~~I am definitely NOT an expert.

I took a couple law classes as part of my degree, but I've not gone to law school and I'm certainly no expert. I have followed criminal cases for quite awhile and learned a ton along the way, plus I've studied criminal court procedures and trial strategy as those are areas of interest. I have some friends who are lawyers and I know a couple ADAs so I've been able to pick some brains too. If you're interested and curious and smart, you can learn anything you put your mind to.

The rings and necklace are an interesting thought. I have searched for every photo of Teresa that I could find and she isn't wearing any jewellery in the ones I found. Her family and friends would obviously know more. If she did, that is a new piece of information. If she didn't, then the story has been embellished. Either way, the letter has only achieved the creating of gossip. JMO

I personally think the letter/graphics are beyond disgusting, and i'm sure the Halbach family certainly don't need to read something like that.
It would of been enough to say she was raped and not go into all the horrible detail that murderer wrote in his essay. So to say he did it for Teresa's family is unconscionable to say the least, and i really hope they don't read it because what KK said about what happened was more than enough. Whoever printed that letter and placed it in the public domain should be ashamed of themselves IMO.
I don't think anyone will ever really know what happens unless the killer/s confesses.
There was absolutely no evidence of torture & rape, and it's bad enough the condition of the burned remains that were found that are supposedly of the victim.
I can't wait to see the results of the new evidence testing that Ms. Zellner has had done and what it will tell us.

BBM

6 years later mind you!!

Here is a little experiment for everyone. Think back to a conversation you may have had with someone around 2010-11. Now look at Evans letter and the vivid detail. Can you write 9 pages in vivid detail of the story you were told back then?

The detail is meant to make the story more believable, but it has the opposite effect on those of us who actually pay attention to detail. They shot themselves in the foot with this one. It backfired. Now lets wait and compare to the Kratz fairy tale book set to be released.

Going to reddit now to see what the sockpuppets are saying!

Well, they say a litmus test for someone who's lying is there being too many details in their story. When you over sell a story, it starts to sound like it's all made up. Even LE will often say (after the fact, of course) that they can tell when an alibi or suspect is being dishonest when a story goes into too many details. Most people don't remember every little fine detail of what they've done throughout a day or a period of days.

Not sure why you're addressing me but I agree, the letter is disturbing. To be honest, if KZ has known about this for some time, then it's possible the Halbachs also knew before the public. Given that BD's court date is very near, imo, whoever sent it to the media was hoping it would stir up more sympathy for BD. It didn't. I can't wait for this whole case to be finished with once and for all, then the Halbachs won't have to deal with the growing bs pile. JMO

Maybe i should of bolded the part i was addressing in your post. It was in reference to this: Either way, the letter has only achieved the creating of gossip.

Then in March of 2014, Steven Avery and I were both transfered on the same day from WSPF to Waupun Correctional Institution in Waupun, WI. We would talk to each other on occasions, but not like we use to. Steve had told me that his newly appointed attorney doesn't want him talking to anyone about his case, without her being there
Bolded by me.

Who was this newly appointed female attorney from March of 2014?

but the only DNA that SC had of TH's was from Pap smears, if that bullet ends up having cervical cells on it, I would absolutely be convinced that not only did they frame him, but they will go to any lengths to cover it up. JMO

Really interesting idea, but I have doubts about this working. Only some cervical cells look all that different from normal skin cells, and I think even those different ones look more or less like cells from elsewhere in the body. There would be very few cells on the bullet in the first place on top of the bullet being stored poorly for a long time probably makes identifying source of the cells nearly impossible. If all the DNA that was supposed to be on the bullet was used up, then I imagine any and all cells would be too. Cervical cells would be nucleated and thus available for further DNA testing.

Then again, I am not an expert on harvesting cervical cells from bullets, this is just my take on the idea.

And if someone was feeding this snitch information, they might not have had any idea cell identification would be hard/impossible so the Evan's story might have included some CYA material.

But a good idea, nonetheless. Really creative problem solving. Sounds kinda like a discovery made in an especially grim episode of Matlock.

But then again AGAIN....
I'll just put these two quotes here for no reason at all.

In the technique known as liquid-based cytology, these collected cells are released into a vial of liquid preservative that is then used in the cytology lab to produce a slide for microscopic evaluation of the cells. The older, traditional Pap technique involves direct transfer of the cervical cells to a microscope slide for evaluation.
-From a description of the pap smear process

The following items were recovered at the scene:
o Item #1, Property Tag #1409, two glass slides originating from Item #8658, collected at
1139 hours on 04/10/06

BBM, I think that lawyer would of been Kathleen Zellner.

Zellner started working the case in 2016.

Well Saul i stand corrected. For some reason i thought she was on it for quite a while. My bad :)
The only female lawyer i'm aware of representing SA is KZ.

No i don't have a source. I am using my common sense that the AG's office and the prosecuting attorney have that type of power.

I think what you are missing here is that the "usefulness and veracity" of the information being used to help convict may not be the motivation. Although I suppose it could be used if a new trial were granted.
IMO the motivation is to protect reputations and to save face and to keep the steady stream of disinfo flowing to the public.
Your last paragraph, yep😉.

Another interesting thing to note is that the handwritten portion of the letter does not specify or even allude to what was confessed. All he says is he wants to help BD. What follows afterwards (in the typed portion) really could have gone either way.

Does anyone have a reasonable explanation for why this letter was divided into written and typed parts? The different signature to each part really baffles me as well.
" reasonable explanation " lol
CoolJ, you DO know we are in the MAM thread, right?😀

Exactly - gossip is the thread running through the whole history of the police versus Steven Avery.

In this latest kerfuffle, many people will simply read the headline and never realize the contents of the letter are at variance with the facts.

This is part 1 of an interview with the author of the article that made the letter public. My own thoughts on this is this man clearly has not researched the actual case any because he makes many numerous claims that are completely wrong in this interview. At the very start he claims SA did 22 years for a rape he didn't commit. The true facts are that SA did 18 years, (12 of which were wrongly convicted for the rape, the first 6 were for the incident with his cousin), for a rape he didn't commit. The untrue facts continue in the rest of the interview.

The second link is Part 2 of the interview which the author did after receiving a negative backlash from social media about his article and the inconsistencies contained in the letter. I will say that I read the mentioned forum in this video quite frequently, and have not seen anyone make statements about "shooting himself". There were many posts about the article being "garbage" and "click-bait" and some saying he needs to be fired for not investigating the so-called "facts" contained in the article before he published it. While I do not agree with derogatory or inflammatory comments made to people online in these forums in any way (if anything, these type of comments only make it harder for those who are in these forums for the sole purpose of finding the truth and getting justice for the victims in this case), I do agree that this author would have done himself better justice if he had researched and verified the information and facts for himself about this case, before publishing this letter in the way in which he did. All JMO, of course.

Edit: Spelling and wording corrections.

As far I can determine, that journalist lacks any credibility. The journalist even says, "I don't know" when attempting to discuss the Steven Avery Bill, which he fumbled to try to discuss.

Thanks Jaddie!

IMHO, If I was him, I would have to be asking myself why the letter was sent to a Rockford IL newspaper and not to a WI newspaper or news outlet. I would also have to ask myself why none of the WI news outlets were picking it up. That should at least make you stop and ponder before publishing.

Did anyone catch where he said he received the letter from. Sounded like VAA???

What the heck is a VAA outlet? It's in the first minute of the first clip, I wasn't going to watch but wanted to know what you were talking about LOL
