Aw...just seeing the news Got a lump in my throat and could cry. I really thought she was going to pull through after seeing the news earlier that she was moved to a private room. RIP Joan. You were funny and made me laugh, pretty lady. RIP.

When I read the words stating she had been moved out of ICU and was being kept comfortable, I got cold chills because this is exactly what they said to me when they moved my mother. Within 7 hours she was gone. But it was a totally dignified passing. She just closed her eyes and stopped breathing. RIP Joan.

I wasn't on the internet or watching news on TV. DH called thinking that I had already heard about Joan Rivers' passing. I hadn't. :crying:

Sad news to hear today. Oh, I know she rubbed some people the wrong way by the things she said, sometimes...but when you're 81, I guess you've earned that right.

When I read the words stating she had been moved out of ICU and was being kept comfortable, I got cold chills because this is exactly what they said to me when they moved my mother. Within 7 hours she was gone. But it was a totally dignified passing. She just closed her eyes and stopped breathing. RIP Joan.

Yeah, I had to pull the plug on my dad after his elective surgery at 83.

Hard to do, but, They said he would never be able to return home.

One thing we can all say about Joan Rivers, even though sometimes her comedy could be so disrespectful she knew how to laugh at herself and make fun of herself. My heart goes out to her daughter and g-son. I saw her once in Vegas, many moons ago, when her husband was still alive. The room was packed, and she was very very funny. It was a great show!

Comedian Joan Rivers dead at 81

Joan Rivers, the raucous, acid-tongued comedian who crashed the male-dominated realm of late-night talk shows and turned Hollywood red carpets into danger zones for badly dressed celebrities, died Thursday. She was 81.

Rivers died at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, surrounded by family and close friends, daughter Melissa Rivers said. She was hospitalized Aug. 28 after going into cardiac arrest in a doctor's office following a routine procedure. The New York state health department is investigating the circumstances surrounding Rivers' cardiac arrest during an outpatient procedure.

"My mother's greatest joy in life was to make people laugh," Melissa Rivers said. "Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon." ...

For years, I've been a fan of Joan River's jewelry that was sold on QVC while I haven't ordered much lately...for a time it was an addiction........this week I've been wearing various favorite pieces....so in addition to her comedy....she will be remembered for her sense of style........some real treasures in the jewelry chest.
