Since Jodi's parents allegedly abused her, I wonder if CPS ever visited the home, or if Jodi's teachers reported that the girl was being abused. I think not, but maybe we'll learn more about this as her testimony continues.

Would the prosecutor be able to call Jodi's parents during rebuttal?

It is not difficult to believe JA was beaten as a child, but to truly know if she in fact was abused and to what extent, I think one would have to hear from her mother, father, siblings, teachers, friends, ex boyfriends, etc and/or any legitimate source that would give credence to her claim/stories in order for anyone to have an ounce of empathy on her behalf.

Anything JA says cannot be believed even if it is the truth, because she is a pathological liar, hence there may be bits of truths in her stories, which I believe she twists and spins with ease for her convenience imo, so how do we know which ones are true or are not unless they are corroborated.

PS. I don’t want to hear what experts have to say either, unless the abuse has been established and corroborated. :moo:
To a point I agree. I believe Jodi perceives her treatment as abuse but the term abuse can be subjective to many. Certainly it wouldn't rise to the legal standards of abuse. (For that matter I lived in domestic abuse for 10 years and much of my abuse wouldn't meet legal standards either so I am sympathetic to real victims of psychological abuse as a rule. I don't consider Jodi to be a victim in any capacity.)

I think though, like you, that whatever has happened to Jodi is turned and twisted in a way that benefits only herself. For me, even with corroboration there simply is no mitigation for what she did to Travis, his friends, and his family. Prior to his death, through his death, and following his murder. The only explanation imo for continuing to hurt those already harmed through losing him is sadism, pure and simple.

Hi everyone  it's hard for me to follow testimony at work, so i might have to be mia and watch it later thanks to the kindness of some folks who post it on the interwebssss, but i trust y'all to behave and take care of biz.

I use the ustream app on my iphone and watch the AZFamily feed with an earbud...if I'm trying to be subtle.

I'm confident that if the prosecutor remains cool, detached and methodical during cross, JA's mask will crack.

She is compelled to affect people. When she doesn't affect people, she acts out, in my opinion.

Thank you for putting it this way. Trying to figure out what her deal is and saying that she's "compelled to affect people" is the perfect phrase. Whether sympathy, anger, frustration - as long as she sees that she's having an impact on the situation then she's satisfied. I hope JM can get her to crack that mask. He's amazing and knows what he needs to do. I have faith.

It's great to feel so welcome by this sarcastic comment and many others "liking" the sarcastic attack on my original comment. I must have missed that portion of her testimony yesterday, since that was the entire scope of my original comment. I didn't hear JA make any references to any of those things in her testimony yesterday. Guess I will go back to not commenting on a site that clearly isn't as receptive as I thought to different perspectives. Good luck.

I apologize if I offended you. I really was asking you for your thoughts on how you could find a person believable after hearing the different versions of what happened during the crime.

If you just heard JA's testimony yesterday and nothing else what did you think happened? Do you know how the victim died?

But it was a buffet!

:laughcry:

How will she explain the 29 stab wounds in his back in defense? :waitasec:

"Travis came running at me backwards and I just held the knife out. Then he kept trying to run me over by running backward another 28 times." :waitasec:

If you freeze slices of pizza that you had delivered, when you microwave them the two ends will get very hot and the center stays cold. :banghead:

I'm eating both ends and then I'll reheat if!

Please...in the future pop that leftover pizza in the toaster oven!

I can't decide if mom not being there is a good thing for the defense (see, her mom disses her and neglects her, it's true she's been abused...) OR bad thing for the defense (see, mom knows she's lying about wooden spoon, so must know she's not above lying about self-defense and is sickened by it).

They're reporting JA's mom isn't at the courtroom?

Could the pros have sup her to be a witness?

curious,
fran

ETA, or nevermind. I see she's there now!

I agree. No one should believe her simply because she says the words. She's a liar. Everyone knows that.

I read somewhere that her parents told police JA was a difficult child and teenager. She used to run away. It doesn't surprise me that her parents disciplined her.

I was never beaten and rarely spanked as a child, but I'm sure some jury members were... wooden spoons have nothing to do with murder.
