Afternoon testimony
Jodi Arias direct examination day 3
--re: Deanna Reid. Jodi's understanding of who she was, was that she was an ex-girlfriend of Travis', that she was somebody Travis was once very serious with, both in love, they separated, all of the history she knows is through Travis.
--Travis warned Jodi that Deanna was emotionally unstable and she would freak out if he attempted to move on and tried to date somebody.
--First time she was Deanna Reid was December 2006. Travis told Jodi to steer clear of her.
--From the time she met Travis to the time she was in his home in Mesa in 2006, Jodi was asked out on a few dates and she went on a few. Travis was aware of her being asked.
--There was no sexual interaction that weekend, Travis seemed hypervigilant about not holding hands, hugging etc. Slept on the leather couches in the front room. After all the lights were out they were laying on the couch talking and Jodi touched his fingers and pulled away and sat up and looked around to see if anybody was awake.
--Jodi was left with the impression that Travis didn't want anybody to know he was involved with Jodi. Martinez objects, speculation, overruled.
--Nurmi asks if Jodi was hoping Travis would hold her on the bed and have sex with her. She says "no".
--There was one romantic gesture when she was leaving. Travis walked her out to the car, Chris Hughes was in his Lexus SUV on his phone, and her car was parked in the driveway, Travis saw that Chris wasn't looking so he told Jodi to "kiss him quick" as nobody was looking.
--Travis doesn't want anybody to know they had a relationship in December 2006 even though they already had had around six sexual encounters. Jodi wasn't mad about that. It bothered her a little bit.
--They talked about the status of their relationship the next day. To her understanding, after talking she was encouraged to date other people.
--Had the impression that Travis wasn't dating anybody else. Says she found out it was false.
--Says she went on dates. Travis learned about the dates. This would be January of 2007. She was still in her Palm Desert home. Dates took place in Pasedena, CA. She went on dates with two people.
--Went on a date with a guy she met at a super Saturday event on November 11, 2006. The guy asked her out that day but there was nothing concrete. She wouldn't have considered it inappropriate to go on a date with this guy even though she had started seeing Travis.
--Man's name is Abe Abdeladhi (spelling). Went on one date. Developed into a platonic situation.
--Other person is John Dixon, he invited her for lunch, they went for sushi and were friendly.
--Travis knew of the dates. How did he know? Jodi didn't answer her phone that night. Travis was inquisitive that she didn't answer the phone. She told Travis that she was with Dixon. She could tell Travis was upset because of his tone and his mood changed.
--re: date with Abe. Same situation. Both dates were on the same day in Pasedena.
--From the tone of Travis' date he seemed upset about the date with Abe.
--Abe and Dixon weren't church members and she says that Travis repremanded her.
--Travis wanted her to only date church members.
--Nurmi asks "why would you allow Travis to have any input on who you dated?" Travis explained the importance of dating within the church and she agreed with him.
--Travis hung up on her that evening. She felt guilty about dating other people and felt like she had cheated on him. She wrote him an email and Travis sent her a text message. This started them on the path to become more official.
--Travis and Jodi officially became a couple in February 2007. First weekend of February they were hanging out in the house, reading books, sitting in an oversized chair next to his bed. Doesn't remember the day but it was Feb 1, 2 or 3rd. She went to his house in February and surprised him with a visit. Prior to that Travis and Daniel Freeman stopped by her place a few months earlier.
--Now talking about the time Freeman and Travis came for a visit, they went to her bedroom and made out. No sex. Clothing stayed on.
--Back to her visit in early February. Arrived around 0230-0300 in the morning. She was living in Palm Desert at the time. As she approached the door she had doubts about what he was going to think. She walked back to her car then turned around and looked at the house and there was lights flashing from a TV so she went and rang the doorbell. Travis and his dog answered the door. The dog was barking very loudly.
--Travis looked very surprised and had a big grin on his face. He pulled her into the house and his roommate came downstairs. Travis yanked the hood off her head and said "this is Jodi", Roommate is Thomas ????. The three of them went upstairs and sat on the beanbag chairs.
--Jodi told him it was okay if she slept on the couch but Travis balked and said that she could sleep in his bedroom with him. There was sexual activity the two nights. She doesn't recall specifics of the sex. There was no penile/vaginal intercourse.
--The next day they hung out and looked at a museum online, they stayed at the house all day and hung out. They might have gone to grab a bit to eat but she doesn't think so.
--No sexual activity during the day but there was at night.
--Doesn't remember if the roommates were home. They stayed in the bedroom a lot. If they were downstairs around the roommates they were not affectionate.

I had to step away, but I thought she was talking about the murder night. And so far, after 2 days of testimony, I've yet to hear a single incident of abuse. I've seen women with broken bones, black eyes, internal injuries -- and this just isn't coming close.
I've been married for 15 years, and we've had many arguments. Should I call that abuse?
I personally think this line of questioning is high school ridiculous and sounds like what many teens talk about (besides the sex part) share with me. "oh, so and so was seen kissing behind so and so's back". And the twitter wars begin!

OK I just got home, I see JA is still on the stand, and her lawyer is still qustioning her, so I'm guessing it's more of the last two days ??
