It appears #JodiArias judge may have heard concerns about Travis' family reacting in court. After judge called recess they were taken aside

(bet it was a motion for mistrial based on that ^^^ and further bet it was one of Jodi's family that complained)

What horrible people if that's what Jodi's family did. What does her family expect of them???

So, nothing to do except shove paper off my desk and see if it sails around in a chaotic pattern like paper so often does....

:rocker:

I still think the tape (in it's entirety) could show that Travs thought her fake O sounded funny/silly and sad she sounded lie a 12 y o. He then realizes that was probably not the wisest thing to say, thus tried to make up for it by saying, "It's so hot".

Being that it's audio, there is no way to read expressions, complicating things further is if the participants are playacting.

Maybe JA had tried to request an empty courtroom, testifying only in front of the judge and jury and it was denied?

JA's compartmentalized what she did. Filed it away to forget. All the 'confessions' except the real one have been broadcast. Now, JA has to face the World with the details. Because of the crime scene evidence and photos, it's evident what happened. She's going to be questioned on every single teeny detail.

Hard enough for JA to relive it with her own defense team. She knows the Prosecutor will pull no punches. The Jodi Show is about to close.

My prediction is LWOP. JA needs to live a very long life in a cage remembering daily what she's done.

Ya know what would be FUN? If Juan M said he needed to get a quick x-ray on that finger to see if it is broken or just has a severed tendon....

AZ in da house!! :blowkiss:

They gasped and ran out of the courtroom when the horrendous autopsy picture was shown. There was a motion for mistrial arguing that the jury could be improperly swayed by emotion because if the family's reactions.

ahh thanks! I knew it happened, but couldn't remember the circumstances.

I think we need to remember that we are seeing the lawyers/Jodi what? 95% of the time? we aren't seeing everything all the time. And during the sidebars, we are muted, so we don't hear anything either. I wonder if the media camera's record from all angles all the time, I would think so.

So maybe she wanted a plea deal and Juan Martinez said no ????

This is what I was thinking. I was thinking she realizes that her time being direct examined is coming to a close, she knows what she is in for with Juan on cross, and decided to ask to do another deal. She thought for sure Juan would go for it and when he didn't she got upset.

Anything is possible, I suppose.

What am I missing? People keep talking about LWOP. As far as I have understood this is NOT something that JM is going to give in to. Why do people keep saying this. She cannot "cop" to a plea now because a plea is not on the table once the trial has started...is it? Very confusing because I don't see JM as letting this one go.

A plea deal can be entered at any time during a trial. But, I agree that JM is unlikely to accept any deal. However, it is possible that her attorneys were discussing making an offer to the state with her.

Yes she was none too happy.

Personally I felt this tape should have never been allowed in because she taped it in California. He did not give her permission we all can count on that.

IMO

The case is not being tried in CA so CA law would not control.

I think the judge just admonished her again and maybe defined purjury for her. I think poor little Jodi got in trouble and needs time to get it together.

The judge knows she is lying through her teeth and it is highly unlikely she would be discussing perjury with her.

She looks like a pouty little kid that got their toys taken away from them.

She sure does. I can imagine what a tyrant she was as a child to her family. This is what her parents had to deal with.

Speaking of, maybe she doesn't want to testify today with her family there?

I agree. She has lost control and her defense knows it. Myself, I think Juan may have confronted her with the lies and wants her to be truthful instead of telling more lies. I think if she confessed to the truth, the State may be willing to take the DP off the table. I know if I were on the jury and Jodi told the truth about why she killed him I would not go for the death penalty. LWOP would do it for me but only because she admitted she killed him out of spite and everything negative she testified to about him was false. jmo

I can't see JM, or any attorney really, confronting her in chambers or anywhere but on the stand.

IMO quite the contrary. Until the bitter end of a conviction she will have herself completely convinced that she'd pulled the wool over their eyes. Psychopaths can't accept an incapability of manipulating others...or any other character flaw.

Once a guilty verdict comes back it will be the jury who got it wrong. Then she will work on convincing herself she'll be freed through the appellate process because she will believe she can manipulate and coerce the course of justice somehow.

It is an interesting issue. Psychopaths do feel superior, but they also have an uncanny ability to "read" what other people want - that is why they are SO successful. I could see someone like JA feeling superior in a short testimony where they got to shine, but, over the days, I could also see someone like her becoming VERY frustrated when she is not getting the non verbal feedback from the jury she wants to see. How painful to see that they are not all with you, adoring you, and still be forced to continue. Especially if she is seeing them look to TAs family with any type of sympathy.

I don't think they are always right, but I think narcissistic personalities are very adept at telling if their stories are being heard. Typically, they can change their behavior to accommodate the listener's particular needs, but, in a case such as this, there is no real opportunity to do so because of lack of feedback.

He threw her on the floor and she emitted an unexpected yelp. Unbelievable, entirely.

At this point, I don't think that anyone in the world, including Nurmi, Wilmott, and Arias believe a single word that she says.

**could someone bump up the link to the 2010 document about 2nd degree**?

(the defense tells the PA that if they do not settle a plea for second degree they will throw travis and all his friends and family under the bus)

the PA rejected that and anything short of the family asking for it.. well I do not see as that is what is going on right now imhoo.

I missed this, and would love to read it. Does anyone have the link? TIA

did the tapes get played yet?

Dear HLN I know you have nothing else to talk about, but this is a classic premeditated murder, and murder 1 .. all the way. Felony murder is so not what she did unless the first felony was murder 1 because she flat out murdered him, like 3 times!

JA could have said.....the ninja broke her finger and if she told anybody they would break another. :floorlaugh:

Just find it hard to believe it's a plea. Think she will take it all the way, but what do I know.

Sorry if this has already been stated, the posts are flying.

Feel bad for TA's family...how do you not react. Prayers for the family.

Thank you! I can't see JM accepting it either. I think she is probably upset with something even more basic that affects her own little self. Perhaps the tape in its entirety, like someone mentioned above. But, she sure looked defiant, whatever it was.
