That is what I think is so sad....the defense has been busy muddying the waters and throwing out all this supposed salacious sex stuff. The media has a field day with all that...and yet here is the defense trying to make the jury forget that this young man was horribly and brutally killed...rather...OVERkilled. In all her lies and backtracking and graphic useless sexual testimony and overly detailed testimony (overly detailed where it doesn't matter!) and Nurmi's draaaaaaaaaagging this all out...somehow the real crime seems to have been forgotten. For some odd reason I get the feeling she is dictating her memoirs rather than testifying in a trial literally for her life. I hope that in some way Juan can bring the crime back into this and remind the jury what they are there for.I was reading some of the posts here and got to thinking about the time Jodi has spent on the stand. I asked myself... "What has stood out the most in her testimony?" I drew a blank because nothing she has talked about the past... ? days has really stood out or made an impact.
I was so nervous about the 'sex tape' I was worried that Travis was going to be mean and really abusive and he wasn't... at all. He was actually pretty nice. He told her she was 'photogenic' and 'pretty' and 'amazing' he even went so far as to call her a 'superwoman' So, he did call her some names... but I just dont see it in the negative/abusive way she tries to portrait him. Everyone has heard the phrase: "A man wants a lady in public and ain the bedroom" and Travis in a twisted kind of way was telling her that he had found his '
in the bedroom' Sure, he talked about his fantasies (not knowing that he was being recorded) He was a man. Jodi baited him!! Jodi is the deviant, not Travis.
I got to thinking about how she said he would call her and be mean to her. I think she baited him there too! We havent seen the texts she sent to him but I'm willing to bet that she provoked him... because Jodi DEMANDS attention, even if it's negative attention. She knew in her mind that if she were to leave Travis completely alone he would move on and forget her. She couldnt handle it and she wouldnt let him forget her. As far as the sex... she *knew* that she was his first and she used it to her advantage. She was willing to do anything and everything he wanted, no matter how degrading it might be. What a witchy woman Jodi is!
The defense had done a good job of muddying the waters with sex and filth and lies. What I hope the jury remembers and keeps in mind is that this trial is NOT about a dysfunctional sexual relationship. It's about a young man who was brutally murdered not once... not twice.. but THREE times. I have faith that when Juan gets up there... their memories will be jogged and locked in on the real reason they are there.
