Any injury to the head will probably cause the victim to be in shock so whether he was shot first or stabbed he would have been in shock which is the body's reaction to a severe injury. I don't think any of his injuries were superficial as most, if not all were deep. He also had an stabbing injury to his head where a piece of his skull is missing and that would have caused him to go into shock. I believe he may have told Jodi to go for help because he was in shock and did not know what was happening to him. I don't think Travis attacked her at all. I think she took him by surprise, maybe while he was drying his hair with a towel. When your body goes into shock you sometimes can't make sense of what is happening to you. jmo
The absolute awfulness of this crime, and the lack of remorse after four years, keeps me awake at night.
Could someone please point me in the direction where I might learn about the early years- pre Jodi- of Travis and his siblings? I have come to this late, (only during the trial, I'm Australian), and understand that Travis had a tough time of it early, which he managed to overcome. Someone wrote earlier that Travis is still making friends, and I really love that idea! Thank you.
Hi, just catching up and finally able to register today (thanks, WS mods!), but my digital camera purchased in 2007 doesn't make a click when a photo is snapped. My newer cameras and phone have the option to turn a sound on or off.
Love this forum, awesome community and way to support Travis' memory.
After wading through another 27 pages of speculation about which came first, the gunshot or the knife, I think the only thing that will help is for forum members to pitch in and pool their funds and hire whatever renowned pathologist you believe will give the correct answer. Obviously Dr. Horn is not believed by a significant percentage of folks and I haven't seen that anyone else with medical examiner qualifications has opined here, so to put this all to rest, it's time to commit some money to the cause.
This will also serve as a test of how important and committed forum members are to finding out which came first--put up some real $$$ to pay for a Dr. Baden or whoever to do a thorough independent and objective review of the autopsy, the xrays, the path reports, etc. and render his/her opinion.
What say you WS members? Committed enough to the cause? You'll have to fund this yourselves because the State of AZ already has an expert opinion. It won't be cheap--you're probably looking at $7K to $10K but you will get an answer.
Does anybody know off hand what day(s) the interview with Flores was played in court?

My understanding is that one needn't have ME qualifications in order to opine about the sequence of JA's attack. In fact I wasn't aware any qualifications were required in order to discuss ANY subject here. Perhaps I am wrong?:waitasec:
This is a discussion forum and we have been discussing. :seeya:
You, of course are welcome to have unquestioning faith in the testimony of any witness you chose, just as anyone else is welcome to have a differing opinion.![]()
There was evidence early on that they tip of the knife was broken off. Perhaps embeded in his skull or something? Its all vague but I remember something to that effect.
Also wouldn't the roommates notice a knife missing? I just assume she had some kind of hunting knife in her purse that she used to slash the tires as well.
shanked maybe you mean?

Tried to get a pic of my Bengal not being impressed by Jodi's testimony...unfortunately they switched to the judge just as I was taking the picture.
Wack-a-doodle...28 year-old woman writing about how she feels that she didn't get the appropriate "credit" for editing a guy's unpublished book:

They should have gone for "insane" instead of "self-defence". She sounds like an f'd up teenager to me.

Oh my eyes!!!! It's just something I wish I had never seen...I don't even want to pull it up to compare thighs :shudder: ewwwww.....
(remind me...did the jury see this pic...???? )TIA....

MINUS 4 -- Travis had challenges growing up..it seems like his siblings were/are very close, but the parents were into drugs (meth/crack I think) and money was always short...
I am 12+ pages behind...and I'm sure this has been said....but gun shot and stab wounds aside- his throat was slashed FGS. There are hardened, violent criminals out there who don't have the stomach for such a viscous act...that in itself is NOT a self defense wound. Period.
Moo....

Who are "they?" Did they view TA's body in person? Did they have access to all the reports, tests, investigator's notes, etc, etc? There isn't a question about which wound was the first fatal one--we already know it was the neck wound. The big debate is if TA was shot before that neck wound or after.
To me it doesn't matter because either way the case is 1st degree murder and eligible for the DP. To me it's a completely moot point simply because it doesn't change the outcome of the case, it doesn't change the charges, it doesn't change the potential sentence criteria, and TA is still dead regardless of which order the wounds occurred.
However, to many it apparently does matter very much--it appears to matter enough to debate it for thousands of posts, though no one can determine the correct answer from the numerous lay opinions expressed and for whatever reason the expert ME opinion (of Dr. Horn) is simply not trusted or believed (by some).
