That's what I wondered, they did look puzzled, they went through each page of it. My thought is they knew about them but really never looked at them, maybe didn't realize what was in them until yesterday. I would have looked and acted casual about it because I think they drew more attention to them by taking so long to look them over...

Maybe they didn't figure out the number code. :floorlaugh:

I'm in South Carolina but worked with some guys from Mesa who contracted for us during August one year. They told me AZ was hot but our humidity made our summers worse than theirs.

OT: I lived in Bullhead City, AZ for many years. It has the distinction of being one of the hottest places in AZ. There is a place in Death Valley, CA called Hell. I remember a headline in the Arizona Republic that said, "Bullhead City Hotter than Hell!" It was 128 degrees. (Patio thermometers peg out at 120 degrees.) But your right, the low humidity makes it more bearable. A popular T-shirt for tourists showed two skeletons sweating in the sun and said, "But it's a dry heat!"

My hubby, who was a contractor, would leave for work at 4 a.m. and it would be 104. We retired to cool Oregon.

Yep, it's a dry heat, yada yada. August is GD hot here. I don't care who you are.

What happened in August again? I can't focus with JVM screaming at me. But of course I can't turn it off.

Is it all women who scream at you make you lose your focus?

Well, once Jane hears your complaint, she'll talk more softly for you, Dear.

I had a friend that lived there and said it's not only hot but you can't get rid of the layer of dust on everything. She said she could dust 10 times a day and still have dust from the sand.

I keep seeing the smile/smirk on JA's face during this Magazine testimony and Wham it hit me...
Could JA be expecting to claim that her 'former' cell mate Kimberly Ross (on DT witness list) is the one who was the writer in the mags?
I just can't understand Why a DT would call a cell mate anyway, it's just too easy to discredit them IMO :waitasec:

Does anyone remember the dates on the mags?
iirc the Star (JA pointed out) was delivered in Feb 2012?
if not will try to screen shot them from video TIA ;)

HEY, I thought someone (Anita?) said only WATER was allowed in the court room!! That pic of Nurmi's drink looks like SODA to me.
Can one of the attorneys please draw up a sanction, or what ever it's called. lol

Now, aside from the photos that might actually be "Steely" LOL ok not funny... The magazine writing...my thought is if they really knew it was written in there they would be ready to bring on some hand writing analysis expert to say anyone could have written it.. Especially if the chain of custody was broken and they did go to the lady that visited Jodi.

Unless they never got that far and the Deputy stopped them and the jail discovered it?

I would think if they left Jodi's hands, then got handed off to a member of the public there would be some seed of doubt that she was even the one that wrote in them (unless the info is just too tied into what she was doing)

I think they were ruled out, but during JA's defense testimony she made a comment about TA being tired of her antics or something like that. I think that means the JM can ask her what those antics were. I don't know if he can ask her specifically if she slashed TA's tires or not.

AZ would know for sure.

If it's documented in the Arias journals, I would think JM can ask ...

Here's my understanding of what has happened.

In January, after Flores testified, the Defense filed a motion to dismiss the death penalty as an option because of the conflicting testimony about the aggravating factor. The trial judge denied their motion, and the trial continued.

The defense then filed a special action to review the judge's ruling on the motion to dismiss the death penalty. This was filed with the Court of Appeals in January, and at the same time they filed a "motion to stay", which is a request that the trial be stayed or postponed until after a ruling on the special action. The Court of Appeals denied both the special action and the motion to stay.

Today, the Defense then field the same special action and another motion to stay with the AZ Supreme Court (kind of like an appeal of the Court of Appeals ruling denying the special action). The AZ Supreme Court has denied the Motion to Stay, so the trial will continue - and I'm not sure whether the court has ruled on the special action requesting that the death penalty be dismissed.

Minor4th, thank you. You make all the legal issues so easy to understand.

I find it so odd that she uses the term "courting".

Yes, "courting" is an odd term for Jodi Arias to use, IMO.
She uses the term "hanging out" to decribe everything from - going out on a date, to having sex.
COURTING does not appear to be a term JA would use to describe: A man pursing her as a woman to have a relationship with in a dating situation.

From Jodi Arias' testimony: She never really "dated men." She met a guy, and almost instantly began a sexual relationship with him...and then quickly started "shacking up with him.
"
Travis Alexander didn't appear to "fit the Jodi mold" -- He didn't allow Jodi to move into his home....to shack-up-with-him!

I know I'm bad for saying this but... I kind of enjoyed seeing the frantic look on Willmott and Nurmi's faces when those messages in the magazine were revealed in open court.

It was that last defeated objection from Nurmi when the messages were put in order and the exhibit was being put into evidence and then the judge overuled and refused to let them approach that was interesting to me.

MOO

I heard someone on DD last night say something about these magazines....this is what I heard...JA tried to sneak these out to her former atty A. Campbell, to get them to Matt. Had to do with some letters that got tossed out of evidence because of forgery. They said that the jail intercepted the magazines....Wonder if the penis pics were from Matt? was A. Campbell the former atty?

Yesterday when Juan brought up Ryan and the fact she was messing around with him the day after Travis was killed, she said, "I was single."

Who else finds this answer totally weird and disturbing?

I find this answer totally cold and unfeeling. Psychopathic.

oooh good call. I have a feeling the 3rd person in the room will not only attest to her hair being blonde, but to the fact she had sex with the ex.~snorts~

JA is soooooo toast!:great:

I thought she may have had a three-some with them.

I'm thinking "courting" may be a Mormon term.

Are you picking on me? Please stop. It makes my brain scramble when people pick on me. I just might forget what I did yesterday.

i'm thinking that "courting" is territorial jodi-speak for "having sex with"
