I think the cup is two fold...once she realized she had been cut and was bleeding she used the cup to dilute the blood on the floor and hopefully eliminate any chance of her DNA being found. It is also at that point, that she realizes she needs to get Travis in the shower in order to make sure her blood isn't anywhere on him and the cup helped her to reach the places the shower didn't. jmo

the forensic evidence (part of cleanup) that was most perplexing to me was that of the bathmat and scale. The expert testified that there was blood on the bottom and top of both items (indicating they were moved)

I am doing a crude layout based on photos... the path it took. Shower, to sink, down that hall with recessed lighting where that other photo was taken. Before the hallway photo was taken, there was the one where he is down and you see his shoulder. He may have fallen on his back from the sink and she stabbed him in the chest and hands as he tried to hold them up. Then she follows him only down this hallway, at the end of the Hall, the tile meets his bedroom carpet and he did not get any farther. That walk-in closet is the length of the hall. (there is a little linen closet in his bathroom you see next to the sink I think that is where he showed the box of paper on the floor with the horrible water stains absorbed into the box and they are red from blood. But there was no blood anywhere else.. He did not get far.

I think you're doing a great job! The more ideas generated the more we can piece together.

Perhaps I am underestimating how stunned someone would be when they realized someone close to them was *actually* intent on killing them. I keep thinking that Travis had plenty of opportunity to get the best of her and disarm her if she had a knife - which makes more sense to me if she were holding him helpless at gunpoint. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he was so stunned by the initial
knife wounds that he just relented and didn't really fight back.

Before he had his psychotic break, my son that's schizophrenic was shot in a holdup in a pizza place where he was working. It was through the leg. The pain was excruciating and he screamed continuously, writhing on the ground until he was sedated. It was the same type of gun here and the entry wound was small but the exit wound was 2-1/2" in diameter.

I am sure Travis screamed for help and told JA, just as she recounted in her ninja story, that he couldn't feel his legs. He may still have been in the shower, we don't know. He may not even have realized she shot him--after all, he was asking her to go to the neighbors as he staggered to the sink. He would be in shock, which includes losing blood pressure, thus accounting for the lack of bleeding in the skull but the extensive bleeding lower down in the body where the pressure was better.

The blood from the bullet wound would have also blinded him in that eye. I honestly think this explains why he has all the defensive wounds. She freaked when he didn't die immediately and she was trying to shut him up for fear a roommate would come and find her in the act. You can be sure the dog was barking and the whole scene was pandemonium.

She drags him back to the shower for the throat slashing. Maybe.

Also, on the bathmat being used to move him around--the crime scene expert testified it had blood on both sides and had been moved from its original position.

She did not kill him while he slept for a reason. She wanted him to see her and to know that she was killing him.

Absolutely.. She did not just want him dead. She wanted him to know she wanted him dead and was going to make sure he was dead.

This is not a slighted gf. This is not an abused woman.

This is someone who set her sights in TA and he became HER victim.

I don't care what she looks like. She is the devil here on earth.

(1). I listened to the HLN clip of Nurmi and didn't hear "stick with it," (2) If he did say that, we don't know the context, he could have been saying, " stick with it, I know it's hard but you knew you would be confronted by the pictures at some point," or whatever, and (3) I think people are getting too cavalier about throwing around accusations of ethical violations by Nurmi. He is a public defender. He did not ask for this case but was assigned to it. Most public defenders are overloaded and underpaid but believe fiercely in the need for a defense to prevent individuals from being railroaded by the state.

I think the fact that he wasn't taking her to Cancun is what made her really mad ... so they had sex for a while, she assumed that was enough to convince him to take her to Cancun, then he told her in no uncertain terms - perhaps in the shower - that it wasn't going to happen, and then she was so angry that she carried through with murdering him. Had he changed his mind about Cancun, he might still be alive.

She needs some kind of visible evidence of prior DV - so she is using the injury to the left ring finger (probably a cut tendon) that occurred during the murder but she is attributing it to a kick from TA back in Jan. '08 that "broke" the finger.

IMO, that would be relatively easy to establish with an orthopedic hand specialist. It certainly appears she has a tendon injury, such as an untreated laceration, and not sequelae from any kind of fracture.

And with the finger injury coming from the murder, there wouldn't be much left to claim physical abuse.

I think the finger was an important lie. Perhaps JM is saving it for rebuttal case?

But maybe that is just a venture into the weeds, because I'm fairly certain that the Defense DV expert will focus on psychoemotional abuse, and not physical abuse in Jodi's case.

What seems really pertinent to me, as I reflect on the crossX, is that IMO Jodi did not establish that she experienced "I'm afraid of severe bodily harm or imminent death". There wasn't a single other incident she offered up as a priming experience where TA abused her such that she could reasonably be in fear of great bodily harm or death in her dropped camera story.

I expected Nurmi to elicit a lot of "I didn't want to have to kill him" comments from Jodi on direct, along with comments about comments to show remorse and conflict over killing him. And it never happened! I was stunned over that. "I had no choice, I was backed into a corner" etc. "I couldn't calm him down this time" etc. this was the worst justification for self defense I've ever heard! Complete failure of imagination on the defense part.

But for the sake of justice, I rejoice that the DT left such huge holes and doubt about self defense. And I really hope the jury noticed.

What real man would want to marry a chick who would perform oral sex on a porch and ask for an ejaculated face? Sane and decent men dont wife women like that.

I take personal offense to that.

this is amazing thanks!

also proves that she got changed and cleaned up before she even left the end of the hallway leading to the bed. no blood after those big stains on the carpet?

Rebuttal is one of the few vehicles whereby a party may introduce surprise evidence or witnesses. The basic process is as follows: Both sides of a controversy are obliged to declare in advance of trial what witnesses they plan to call, and what each witness is expected to testify to. When either a plaintiff (or prosecutor) or defendant brings direct evidence or testimony which was not anticipated, the other side may be granted a specific opportunity to rebut it. In rebuttal, the rebutting party may generally bring witnesses and evidence which were never declared before, so long as they serve to rebut the prior evidence.

But I understand defense does to get a rebuttal. Only the prosecution does. Am I confused?

How did I miss nurmi saying "stick with that"......did anybody see that on hln? I'm behind in posts....

I saw it on hln a little while ago. At the time they were live, I can't say I paid attention because they were breaking for lunch. Hoping that wasn't dubbed!

Absolutely possible and it's also possible that she altered the date / time on Travis' camera. Was it really 5:30 PM when the shower pics were taken ? The timestamps on the pics are only as good as the date/time on the camera.

Actually I believe someone knew that the factory sets the time on those cameras, as well as the user being able to set the time.

I'm confused about something (don't hit me!) :truce:

I'm confused about how (and if) all the things JA did after the murder, and they are numerous, in her effort to avoid arrest/detection/leave evidence she was there... everything AFTER the actual crime - is part of premeditation. (?)

I absolutely believe she planned the whole thing in advance, so I'm not disputing that at ALL. And I understand that an innocent person who killed someone in self-defense isn't likely tp act as she has (if there's even been a single case of it - ever), but I'm not quite understanding how (or if) these post-murder actions are considered premeditation... and if not - what is it? Just plain ol' damning beyond belief? I can live with that...

I'm not even sure my question makes sense - but you guys never cease to amaze, so I'm going to hope someone knows what I'm asking... :)

It is exactly what he said. I put my headphones on and closed my eyes so I could not see his lips. He said STICK WITH IT. Plain as day.

I am not throwing around accusations or trying to make things up..

OK, I am listening to yesterday's testimony because I AM going to find where he asked her about getting Travis in the shower.
But, as I am listening, Marcia Clark's talk on the judge keeps popping in my head. She said when Nurmi yells objection, the judge should either overrule or sustain it. Instead she CONTINUIOUSLY says "rephrase".
I am really noticing it now. And it's really bugging me.

I just rewatched all of part 2 + 3 and didn't hear him discuss it .. he went from Travis in the hallway, the camera, and the glass of water, right to the fact she had to have taken the bloody socks off to her cover up after the crime and texting calling people on the highway.

The gal that is writing the book 'Picture Perfect' posted about the 'letter hearing' on her FB (sorry, don't recall her name but someone posted the link here the other day). She had all the details of that hearing, but don't ask me how 'cos I can't imagine she would be allowed to attend it. Anyway, she quoted Juan speaking to MM, who had testified. He apparently told MM that 'if he testifed about those letters, he (Juan) would have him up on perjury charges before his feet hit the ground.'

Perhaps the OP will post that link again.

it was me. give me a sec, if this hasnt already been answered.

Here's one thing that is REALLY bothering me. I found this post in the media thread.

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8705382&postcount=39

This is a picture of a portion of a police report. It says..

"I found twenty (20) previously deleted images of Travis Alexander taking a shower."

I can't get past the fact that I only count 15 that we've seen. Where are the other 5? What are they of? I counted 12 shower + 1 ceiling +1 dragging + 1 hallway. Am I missing some? The report specifies that they are of him taking a shower, starting at 5:xx whatever pm. Meaning, the statement didn't include the nudie pics portion of photos.

Someone posted previously (I'd give credit but I bookmarked it awhile back and have no idea who it was!) this collage of shower pictures with a few I'd never seen:

http://s1309.beta.photobucket.com/user/wasthinking/media/collage_zps00e64932.jpg.html

I'd really like to see 5:27:28, 5:28:54, and 5:29:12 larger, has anyone seen these full size? I feel like they'd give a better idea of what's going through his head in the "famous" one that comes right after that.

(BTW this is my first post, hi! :seeya:)
