Here's a question for JM to ask today ...

"Ma'm, can you explain to the jury why it took you 2 years after your arrest to change your defense strategy to one of "self-defense" ?

Ever watch the movie Double Jeapardy (one of my favs) with Ashley Judd? She learns the ropes how to beat the system while in jail - from none other than a convicted murdering lawyer.

Although Jodi will never testify to it, I think the reality is she leaned the ropes of "what works" while in the system. She learned from fellow inmates what works or what doesn't - and she likely learned from them how to sneak messages out to accomplices (cough...Matt) who could help her forge letters. Especially when those accomplices are self-proclaimed media specialists (ie., digital arts media...photoshopping, etc).

If/when asked, Jodi will likely give some BS that she received counseling while in jail and discovered she had an undiagnosed battered women syndrome and started piecing things together.

I can't imagine that it would be easy to instruct JA on what to do/say on the witness stand.

What would JA's attorneys have firmly instructed her NOT to do while on the witness stand? TIA

Example:

- DON'T raise your voice
- DON'T head spin like LindaB in the Exorcist
- DON'T vomit green stuff

[Note: I was going to include a picture of LindaB in the Exorcist but they are just too, nightmare inducingly, creepy!]

:floorlaugh:

Didn't it just fall right off her lips with such fluidity?

(seriously I wrote that sentence innocently not intending any pun situation)

She seems much more comfortable with 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 type terms than scientific terms.

I almost lost it when she said she was modest!!??????

Another crazy irony involving Jodi Arias is that she worked for and had purchased the Pre-Paid Legal product, but had to find her own lawyer to handle the BMW/U-Haul debacle.

Correct...and from what I know of the Company, you rarely if ever are allowed to meet with any Attorney face-to-face. You fax them info, they fax you something back. They won't handle any Criminal Cases.

They will help you make a will or write a letter to a landlord about bad plumbing. Conclusion, you can do all that free and not pay $40 to $1100 a month for Legal Insurance that writes you a letter you can do free on your own.

Juan has been planning this scene for 4+ years too, and watching every word she said, and how she said it, through 8 days of direct. I'm sure he is ready to twist and turn in the wind with her when they reach this point, but he will never lose focus of where he is heading, and what he wants the jury to hear. He will extract what he needs, one way or the other. IMO :great:

He is definitely quick on his feet and shows he can move to where she goes while maintaining his precise thinking. He's pretty amazing.

But I do hate this game she's playing. I was thinking last night, can't the judge tell her to knock it off. Can't they call it obstructing justice or something? Rhetorical question, I know she has her "rights." This defendant has no respect for the prosecutor and that ticks me off.

At this point it seems to be ego driven pay back for a little man. Time to move on.
i think it shows her many faces tho. she is a different person in every situation. she is like an actress playing the part. i doubt she has any real feelings for people, everything is an act to get her needs met. she is acting on the stand. i think sending the grandmother flowers and a letter and writing beautiful words in his memeorial book was what an innocent person would do, so she copied that role. she is dangerous and i hope she's gets prison, she would do it again.

I may have missed this as I can't watch the live stream trial, but dvr on tv. I have seen him point out there is no other evidence of his physical abuse of her other than her word, however has Juan challenged Jodi on the fact there was absolutely no evidence of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 on TA's computer and the search of his home?
I believe Arias originally mentioned TA was looking at child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the computer, but changed her story to paper pictures after the DT got hold of the Melendez report. I'm sure Juan will either call Melendez again on rebuttal or emphasize this point in closing.

Excellent point, I think the same thing again...and even wondered how one goes from non-killer to vicious murderer in one fell swoop? And don't worry about anyone disagreeing with your views, that's what this forum is all about, different views....we all learn from each other.

JM has laid the foundation for that.

JA has a history going back to at least 17 years old where she has demonstrated stalking behavior and confrontational behavior. This behavior continued through to her relationship with Matt and then with Travis (not sure if DB gets a break or he hasn't come forward with the information).

With Travis it escalated and she took it further by physical confrontation.

She didn't become a vicious murderer in one fell swoop. It's been brewing inside of her for her entire life.

he needs to find her button...and push it every chance he gets...other girls, poor judgement, her intelligence, she doesn't care about being a ho....she hates being called a stalker...she hates exposure of her real intentions... that is why juan is doing what he's doing...

lets get the letters out..

Hmmm, I admit it's been awhile but I don't recall the "don't look at fat people" part. I think the concept is correct and right...focus on what you want, think positively and good things will happen. There can be exaggeration in anything, but the power of positive thinking is real. IMO

I haven't read the book so I should't really comment on it at all, but the criticism I heard about it was that it tells you that if you just think "I will be wealthy" you'll get that wealth without working for it. I could be wrong about what the book actually says.

I've read "Power of Positive Thinking" and I agree with you there. But that book didn't claim anything magical would happen to you. Just that you would not be held back by your own negative thoughts. JMO

Yeah, funny that. It's not like plastic surgeons don't take before and after pics for one's medical file. Unless, maybe, a surgeon who only charges $300 for the operation, then you may have to take your own photos.

:floorlaugh: and be prepared to reinflate those puppies whenever the gauge shows they're running low or your shirt sags down to your knees.

Did Travis ever travel to visit Jodi?

Even if JA had said 'yes, I murdered Travis in cold blood and deserve the DP', she still would have had officially plea 'not guilty'; found guilty by a jury of her 'peers' to be sentenced to execution.

There are some here who have basically called me stupid and implied other things about my IQ, but even though I'm not an attorney, I know what I'm talking about here from personal experience.

After the execution, the loss of my murdered loved one was still no less painful. There was no 'closure'. The only ones I could see affected were the Family and loved ones of the criminal.

I firmly believe if Jodi is EVER released from prison, she will kill again.

TartLemon, I am so sorry!

She had asked Matt for a gun, " to kill herself " but he did not give her one.

Too bad!

Besides, if I am planning to kill myself I am not going to ask someone for a gun to do it. Like they would say "Sure, here you go!"

When thinking about her lunch issues and finally reading the article about the lawyer complaining that his client was out of it in court due to not eating and Arpaio making the statement that if you want to eat when you want then you shouldn't be in jail or something of that nature.
Wouldn't it make sense to have a separate section within the jails for those awaiting trials and sentencing? According to our justice system you are innocent until proven guilty so why not have a bit more leeway to those in that position? Also this would be stop anyone claiming they were so hungry/low blood sugar their court appearances were hampered.

That's not how we do it in the wild wild west ;)

Shame we couldn't stick her in Tent City shackled to a pole say April thru October :floorlaugh:
