They just got the news over the weekend. My impression is they are still stunned and in shock over the whole thing and have no idea what's going to happen next.. Beth said to me"it's the end of an era" and tears sprung straight to my eyes...hers too. And we hugged and I thanked her for all the great reporting and told her just how much I've appreciated her. This will be her last trial reporting on.

No idea if there is another plan in the works but no one I talked to is expecting some other network to pick it up

I want to start a letter writing campaign ...if anyone has any ideas of th best way to do this to send a message to CNN it would be great. Or Turner broadcasting...???

I think she should contact Oprah (OWN Network). More and more OWN is moving to crime shows like 48 hours Mystery, etc. Or ID Network. Beth would be great with her own show. Her agent needs to get busy.

She would be great in a talk show type setting for victims. Kind of like Beth Holloway's show.

I've been around dogs my entire life (40 yrs) and I cannot think of any dog barking once and running for hugs. My dogs either barked or whined and it wasn't ever just a "ruff". Strange.

Second, Napolean "always left the room when Travis was angry". Really? My dogs either didn't care or would actively and aggressively get between the two people arguing. If one was a family member and the other was not, the dog(s) would defend the owner/family member (no matter how friendly the dog was in the past with the other person). She mentioned Napolean leaving the room, like a child does when the parents argue.

------------------------------------------------------------

You bring up some great points about dog behavior. I've owned two, at different times in my life, and neither would EVER act as Jodi has described Napoleon in the wee hours.

First and foremost, dogs are FIERCELY protective of their owners. They don't cower when the owner is arguing with someone. They rev-up to attack whomever they feel is threatening their owner. Napoleon would likely have known something was fishy about Jodi standing their in silence, with Travis not aware she was there.

And secondly, dogs are alarmed by the slightest, FAR AWAY sounds. Mine routinely ran to look out our 2nd floor window and barked like crazy -- warning us when people were walking or chatting outside, several buildings away.

Most dogs are smart, and I'd expect no less from Napoleon. Every fiber of my being says the dog would have barked at Jodi's car pulling in at 4 a.m., if he was down in the office with Travis. I really doubt she parked at his house.

He also had to be barking at their ruckus and the gunshot, no matter where in the house he'd been stashed. Poor, poor baby...

That poor little dog! I was just reading some testimony on here from the room mates. the Byoch had put a gate on the stairs so Napolian couldn't get up stairs to his beloved master. I am in tears again. My dog barks when someone pulls up in the driveway next door! There is no way TA's dog "didn't know she was there" ARGGG

Didn't you see the picture of JA dragging Travis down the hallway by his arms?

No! Where is that one? I've never been able to find it!

I am curious to hear what she has to say about calling him afterwards and asking him about going to some play.

Hi Katie. I logged off right after the trial last night, but the first thing I did when I woke up this morning was stalk your posts to review your notes lol. Thank you so much for all you do! <3 Im very curious to hear why one of the male jurors worries you. TYIA! (:

I really don't want to post about that publicly with more details because I don't want to send any energy in to that concern. But I want to say I am watching this jury like a hawk, I have THE BEST seat in the courtroom to do this and i'm being as objective as I can. Just keepin it real. So with that, I believe this jury will convict and of ALL of them which is I think 16 right now, there's only one who concerns me and I think in the grand scheme that doesn't mean it sways me from my believe in 1000% this jury will convict her AND sentence her to death.

The whole part of laying out a long rope together, across an entire long room, for the sole purpose of cutting it in pieces to use it for sex play is just preposterous. SHe clearly concocted that story to get the knife in the bathroom. And who grabs a kitchen knife out of a block and brings it to their bedroom to use to cut something like that?

Juan will clear all of this up.

According to Detective Flores, none of the kitchen knives were missing and probably were tested for TA's blood. So JA takes the gun but not the knife ?
She makes Pinocchio look like George Washington ....

"i couldn't face that he was dead. the whole thing was like a bad dream. i guess i just thought if i acted like it hadn't happened and he was alive, then he WAS alive. i was in SHOCK!"

So any theories on what happened to that big long rope that he used for tying her up?

The rope story makes no sense.

First the kind of bed TA owned - “sleigh bed- is not amenable for rope tying. No posts. No wood slats.
Second the length of rope needed to circle the entire bed head stand would have been yards.
Third TA would need to get an entire large roll of rope, then measure out some 5-7 yards – cumbersome, cut the rope then string it behind the bed and then bring each end around in order to tie “nooses” around JA’s wrists.

Awkward and hardly amenable to “sexy time” .

Then the entire wad of rope disappears from the scene.

So this man who habitually abused her stopped the first "bondage" experience because she said the rope was scratchy, and then he went out and obtained a silky rope so the binding would be comfortable.

That's what batterers do, they're known to be considerate of their partners and trying to please them and make sex pleasurable for them.

Keep talking, honey.

Right! Why not use a couple of ties - I KNOW Travis had ties....

No fuss and get to the action faster.

As Judge Judy says, "If it doesn't make sense it is probably not true".

Acter reading KatieCoolady's victim impact statement, I'm wondering why everyone is still hoping cor the DP. With a death sentence, JA will have tons of resources, lawyers, meetings, support, etc, even fans and well wisheds from anti-DP activists. She will have a good chance of having that sentence changed. With LWOP, they will lock her up and throw away the key. No chance for appeal, right? She will be alone (for the most part) and forgotten. Am I missing something important here? It just seems like the DP has a really good chance of ending up something else. Someone may try and prove she is "retarded".

Even with everything I've been through over these last two decades with the DP appellate process, I am 100% behind this murderer receiving the DP for one reason and that's all I need: it's what this family wants.

Also with LWOP she will be in general population vs. isolation in her cell 23 hours per day.

Nothing to do with the sex part but, I think it is a man thing. If I was going to cut rope, I would just look at it and cut it where I think it would work. My dh would not. He would look at it and measure it twice and then cut it. I can see the measuring and the cutting. There are things in her yammerings that make sense on a natural level. Once in a while she will say something and I think " that is true" Then she opens are mouth again and it feels like acting and lying.

If I were on the jury, Even before her story about Him being killed she would be guilty to me. Why?
Because she is trying so hard to be heard about HER. She wants people to listen to her voice. She is coming off to me as narcissistic and self centered. Not at all a victim.

i just can't see him telling her here you hold this end, while i back all the way into the bathroom..she clearly needed a reason for the knife to be in the bathroom..her yammerings about this rope are just self serving lies to make the evidence (knife access in bathroom) seem plausible. The premeditation before the act sinked her ship before her testimony. i've listened to as much as i can and it all looks like BS to me.

Maybe Travis DID attack her. He thought Jodi was gone....got into the shower....she returned (unbeknown to him) and started taking pictures of him in the shower.

Why wouldn't Travis lash out at an INTRUDER in his shower?

Good point! Also, he very well could have attacked her after that first stab wound. I am sure he tried to get the knife from her. JA is claiming that TA attacked her and said he was going to kill her, conveniently omitting the fact that he did this after she first stabbed him in the chest. They say there is a bit of truth in all lies! :what:

I'm still curious about him sitting in the shower. I'm thinking "if" he was posing in the shower-why would he want one "sitting" in the shower.

Another question is...the fact it is quite cramped in that shower, its only standing room, I cant see how anyone would willingly sit in an awkward postion just to get a photo taken. Why not stand up, it had the same effect of looking through the shower screen.

THe pictures do not look posed, they look self concious and really awkward. This IMO was JA's idea.

She had to think about what they did with the rope afterwards. First, I think she said it was beside the bed and then she changed it to on the floor over near the bureau. She shouldn't have to hesitate if it's from memory. Not something she would forget. Also Nurmi asks her if Travis knew she was coming and she looks up to her right and waits a couple of seconds and then looks at him and said yes. He had already asked her this question before so she knew the answer. No need to recall it from a distant memory. He also asked her something about Travis' house and she did the same looking up to her right as if searching for a memory when the answer should have been immediate. She knows to look up to the right (body language) but she does it when the answer is obvious to her but she acts as if she is trying to visualize it. Very telling. jmo

I'm watching the 'rope' testimony on IS. Jodi keeps saying "WE" when describing the measuring. cutting and knotting of the rope. Then corrects herself and hays "HE".

The thing is that I have seen my dh do that. Of course not for sex.. ;) but because that is the way he thinks. It needs to be exact when he cuts. So that one part of her story for me makes sense.. She loses me on needing that same knife to kill him. But I know my dh does not use scissors. He uses a knife every time. This is the only part of this scenario that makes sense.. Of course until she picks it up and slashes his throat open.

Exactly to be honest bordom would set in, a good book would be in my lap and sexy time would be a distant memory :floorlaugh:
