I'm rather pleased with her testimony today

I loved it. The convenient blackout of key events will do her in.

Now I know why Juan made issue with the multiple steps required to delete pictures from that camera. It was to demonstrate the clarity of mind needed to accomplish it. A blackout or foggy state is totally inconsistent with that.

Can someone please tell me who's paying for JA's attorneys?

Wouldn't a domestic violence victim feel profound RELIEF after killing her abuser? Relief that he couldn't abuse me anymore, or relief that unsuspecting children would be safe from him. I think relief and horror and remorse are all appropriate feelings for a TRUE domestic violence victim.

YES. They would. And it doesn't mean they would not feel totally traumatized because they were forced to kill the person they loved, and probably still do in that odd way. But they would typically not use words like "confessed" um...slip .. that is a slip ..

I'm thinking that what Jodi said about the jailor is serious enough to investigate immediately. Her attorneys would be foolish to let her go back to jail if this is what she claims is true. The jailor would be in deep, deep trouble, along with the superiors all the way up the line to the top. Judge wants some answers and wants them NOW. jmo

BBM:

They absolutely will investigate. The officer may not still be working there but they will try to get in touch with her if she isn't. Believe it or not, it could be Malfeasance on the officer's part. Jodi will be questioned about what she said in a very serious way. I expect she will also be evaluated by Medical tonight over the suicide statements. She needs to be kept in solitary (administrative segregation) until this trial is over and she is on her way to state prison.

(I was a Booking/Classification Lieutenant and also sat on the Disciplinary Board for both inmates and officers, but just a retired old granny now)

3:34 p.m. After days of testimony, Numri says he has no more questions for Arias.

Judge Stevens dismisses the jury from the courtroom, and dismisses Arias.

Stevens says she'll be handling an attorney matter for the rest of the afternoon, so that's it for today.

The jurors laughing was a joke in response to my question. Nurmi said he had no more questions and the judge called a recess and excused the jurors to their room. Then she said they had a matter to address in closed chambers and said court would resume tomorrow morning at 10:30. We're trying to figure out, or guess at least, about what the closed chambers could be about.

Thank you. HUGE RELIEF that jurors laughing was a joke!!! Saw that first and thought - Oh no!

What is it about the jailor that I keep reading? What was her testimony about him?

Thanks for catching me up. I tried to listen on my cell phone but couldn't get a good signal.

But she remembers putting the bloody knife in the dishwasher....
......and she remembers her VERY detailed thoughts and PRECISE statements by Travis up until the point where she stabbed him almost 3 dozen times and nearly decapitated him.

This disorder related to selectively repressing SPECIFIC memories, but not other memories that occurred in the same stressful time frame, has never been identified in Psychiatry. Therefore, this syndrome has never been given a specific name. We should give it a name on Websleuths. I propose that we call it
Selective Repressed Memories to Save my Sorry A$$ Syndrome.

I'm very emotionally invested in this case but I can't fault the jurors for reacting to something around them after having to sit through intense, horrific testimony and evidence about someone they didn't know.

I don't think the family would blame them for that either. They probably realize they're human, unlike Jodi, and require, or may even react with, levity after/to a pretty daunting task at hand. (Much as we require it here too.) There's an immense sense of relief now that direct's over for me...I wonder if the jury feels the same.

From all katiecoolady's and PASA's observations it would seem as though most of the courtroom realize the gravity of the situation and aren't flippant or facetious.

MOO

I'm not there today, but if they were laughing about something my guess is it's about ja. From what I saw yesterday they were very serious about the trial and paying attention to testimony (as boring as it was).

No, you're right about that...but remember, she still hasn't forgiven herself. IMO, a lot of her testimony today was tweeked for the penalty phase.

Can anyone direct me to the text of Travis' sociopath text to JA ? Or a screenshot ? I would love to read the whole thing.

Thanks

I'm wondering: Will Jodie have the "hair curtain DO" to hide behind when Juan goes after her tomorrow?

Probably - my guess is the "innocent-little-Jodi-side-pony" will be gone . . . I wonder if she will feign illness to avoid dealing with Juan?

Nurmi ended his direct - judge and lawyers are in chambers dealing with an unknown matter. No more testimony for today.

HTH :)
