I think Juan was doing a couple things yesterday. I think he was setting boundaries with her and also letting her know he is in control.

One thing I noticed (and it scared me to see) was her acclimatizing to Juan. And at some point I think she will mimic him too.

Its fascinating and creepy to see a true sociopath at work.

I bit the bullet and watched Nancy Grace Thursday evening. One of her callers brought up something that I hope Juan expounds on. Someone (Juan???) had asked Jodi why she didn't call 911 and report what happened, since it was self-defense, and Jodi said she was too embarrassed or ashamed to tell 911 what she had done. The point being…how could she be embarrassed or ashamed if she had no memory of what she did?

Sorry if this has already been hashed over. I'm trying to catch up on the threads.

Especially when she supposedly wasn't even sure if Travis was dead or not.

She supposedly loved him but can't be bothered to call 911 to get him medical help since he was shot in the face. Her lies are so crazy.

I asked that same question, including to their former colleague the defense attorney we happy houred with. Got the same answer "yeah they've known about this all along". It's discovery. The pretending to be just seeing it and having to leaf through it like ladies getting a pedicure reading Star magazine was all theatre.

So what was the point of acting like they had never seen it before and were shocked by it? Were they just stalling or did they want the jury to think that the prosecution hadn't followed proper procedure or something?

The defeated sounding little "objection....." from her attorney made me laugh probably more than is appropriate.

??????

3/4 of the day was spent with Arias forgetting what she said and having to read it over. It fits with her ability to lie but her inability to remember the details when they are out of linear order.

It looked bad.:twocents: (esp after her word soup... lie litanies for the past 8 days)

A lot of people criticized Juan for being somewhat disorganized in his line of questioning. It struck me as such last night as well.

But your comment revealed something to me. I think this non-linear line of questioning is very intentional. That seems evident in the severe way he tripped her up yesterday.

I think Juan knows that Jodi is an exceptional and gifted liar who (unlike Casey) can construct very intelligent an well thought out lies *very* quickly on her toes *IF* and only if she can see where the *ultimate* accusation is heading. Otherwise, you can see she stumbles over her answer when she knows she's not sure what the ultimate point is and she's very hesitant to *commit* herself to an answer - which is a telling sign that her answer is purely conditional and NOT based on the truth.

We saw yesterday her frustrated look of confusion as she would stall on an answer because she knew Juan had an agenda she couldn't see past and she was very leery of the answer she was committing to.

The reason why she can't see past his agenda is because she has her LIE memorized as a chronological story. She had her script with Nurmi memorized as a chronology - it may have appeared to flow out of order to give the appearances of having validity but in reality she knew what day every question would be asked and had already memorized the flow of answers. We saw this when she would pause and wait on Nurmi. So her direct examination was still based on her memory of chronology.

**Why is this important? Because its the way the brain works when we are lying. Lying is very complicated so we need chronology to help us keep the details straight as we play the story out in our heads and fill in the blanks with fabricated details. Essentially lying requires one to "comport the facts to the evidence" as Jodi herself testified. On the flip side when you are telling the TRUTH you do not need the aid of chronology because the facts ate the facts are the facts, whether you tell them forward, backwards, or out of order. The answer would always be the same at any singled out point in time.

Juan knows this. So he is stripping the advantage of chronology from Jodi's toolbox and his "disorganized" attack is throwing her off his trail. She can't predict where he's headed so she's screwing up her answers and displaying her lack of confidence in her own account of things.

Jmo, but I truly think Juan is being very intentional about this approach.

I think I want to have his love child. (j/k)

What was she laughing at? It doesn't show it in this. I was watching but it was moving so quick.

She is laughing at the prosecutor questioning her about her selective memory lapses.

When questioned, she claimed that she has memory issues/problems.

I'm paraphrasing, but Juan Martinez asks Jodi Arias what factors induce her "memory problem"; e.g., decibels, etc.

She explains that it's "decibel, tone, content..." and when men like Juan Martinez and Travis Alexander scream at her.

She said "It scrambles my brain."

She apparently thought that blaming her convenient and selective memory lapses on the deceased and on the prosecutor was quite a clever and humorous ploy, as she seems to be stifling a giggle/titter/snicker.

I couldn't agree more. I have feeling the defense would like her to be a little more frail but she is not capable. I am learning there are so many things JA is not capable of doing and feeling like a normal person. It is mind boggeling to watch her. She is more worried about beating Juan and not letting him get to her then her own defense story. She is one twisted person that lacks so many normal emotions.

And it was present clear back to when she was disciplined by her mom and dad. When asked what she felt after her mom swatted her with the wooden spoon she replied' betrayed'. I can imagine that is spot on. Betrayed but not heart broken. Betrayed and enraged.

IMO Jodi's 'nature' is unable to bend or adept. She was on a singular course to get the best life she could by attaching herself to a person already enjoying it. Unfortunately, Travis Alexander, was the richest Jodi had run into and Jodi was determined to be married, soon.

I wonder abut the phone call Jodi says she made telling her Father about seeing Travis making out with another girl. "Dad, I was stalking/peeping Tom into his windows....." I don't think so.

Jodi's comment that "sex with Travis wasn't stressful" was the highlight of yesterday's testimony for me - and she said it outright without being prompted by a question :D

She said that in anticipation of Juan using her diary entries to contradict the lies she told during direct about their sex life.

I wonder how many of them were actually cheating or if it was all in her head. I'm going with the latter. I think she was insecure and any female that spoke to one of her boyfriends immediately became a threat in her mind.

I believe they "thought" they had broken up with her. She proves she never lets go of a relationship that can serve her in some way. I think they are all afraid of her whether they realize it or not. Jodi stockpiles dirt on others, likes to start trouble and then acts inoccent as she walks away.

Anyone else catch that after the Bianca incident that Matt was no longer with Bianca but headed down state to join up with Jodi? She talked him into joining her and then took up with Darryl. I also don't think she slept on the floor the night she visited Matt and his roommate. She claims she had no anal sex with Travis that day and some people believe she had it with someone recently. I do hope Matt takes the stand. He has to realize he is toast. jmo

She was sure holding her head high and proud yesterday discussing their sexual escapades.

IMO she wants everyone to believe that their on-again-off again relationship was back on again and he was "in love" with her. The problem is that her narcissistic needs are is in direct conflict with the image her lawyers have tried to paint of her. I think we will see more of this come out before she gets off the stand.

I have to disagree. Jodi was very much into sex with Travis and judging from the tape and her comments on the stand yesterday, I don't think she saw anything degrading in it at all, for herself or TA. Her claims of she only did it to "please him" are pure bull! If she was only "acting" on that sex tape, then she needs an Academy Award for Best Actress EVER in the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 business. She was freaking totally INTO it. She was jealous and flipped when TA started to reject her for other women in his life.
I'm not sure there was any sex that day...at least consensual. Do we have any proof other than what Jodi has said? We have no idea what he did or she did that day. jmo

she might have done phone sex for a living. just thinking out loud, maybe travis knew things about her that she didn't want to come out. did she ever see ryan burns a 2nd time, or was he just an alibi?

I don't recall him ever getting into how he or who got the magazines and saw the writings. Did they ever even make it to A :waitasec:

I got the impression are TWO separate checkpoints, and her magazines failed the second one. For example...

Maybe first they inspect what an inmate wants to hand-off to a visitor. This part of JA's scheme may have happened smoothly. The guards in the visitor's room caught nothing wrong with Jodi's little magazines; they allowed her to go ahead and give them to Ann.

But later, whenever Ann leaves the visitor's room, she walks all the way to exit the entire facility. However, there may be a separate inspection before she can actually step outdoors.

Maybe here is where JA's friend Ann innocently hands over the magazine for inspection. And surprise, this particular guard discovered the handwriting on the wall. I mean "in the magazine." :floorlaugh:

According to Juan yesterday at trial he did finally - toward the end- reveal they had in fact been delivered to A. He did not say how they came into the hands of the prosecution or if Matt actually ever received the message.

No, Juan stated they *did* make it to Ann. She did receive the mags. That much was clearly stated.

Well she seems to be learning prison ways well, given her attempts with smuggling info/contraband.

That also is telling she did not have that conversation with her mother. Seems more of an indication she has very little connection with other females. Could be wrong. But I am reminded of how she claimed her mother beat her more than her father...if that is even true at all
