I so agree with all this and never thought about her taking the pics of herself so that would be found by another woman but holy crap that would be something she would do IMO.

I believe he thought she was gone when she appeared in the bathroom with the camera. I feel she packed up, loaded her car, grabbed the gun from her car, a knife from the kitchen and went back upstairs to kill him and she wanted pics of the fear in his eyes once he realized ( in her mind ) that she won.

All the pictures were deleted from the camera, so I don't think they were "trophies." Nor intended for somene else to see. That whole issue confuses me.

I also think she had every intention of paying him back for the Gold-Digger blog and axe murderer comment and was going to kill him if she couldn't use sex to talk him into taking her to Cancun. How exactly the pics came into play, I have no idea.

Yes and she even offered him lunch. When Juan questioned her about going to lunch with TA after she caught him JA said it was to make him feel better. She said something about if it were her she would have wanted to jump off a cliff after getting caught doing that. And she is smirking and obviously enjoying taking another jab at TA.

Thank you!

Wow Jodi...busted, disgusted, never to be trusted!
If I can understand this then surely the jury can.

Also there was that journal entry saying nothing noteworthy happened.

Also, I hope the jury is picking up on her selective memory. "I don't remember every detail of my life" (um, your direct testimony begs to differ)

Ok, I have a question. Jodi claims she saw Travis looking at pictures of little boys in the afternoon. But Juan discredited her by pulling up those texts from Jodi and Travis talking about her getting off of work at 5pm and trading cars, etc. is that right? Or am I getting my days confused?

That's the day! Yep... You nailed it!

I think she packed a couple knives and the gun, premeditating his demise.
But yeah JA would totally use a ploy like planting naked pictures of herself and Travis on his 'new camera'. she knew darn well he'd be packing his camera for cancun later that week. Unfortunately for him I think he found the pictures and deleted them, thus causing a massive fight (most likely in his office as she was supposed to be on her way out).

She did mention pictures and the c.d fight in his office. A little truth to her massive lie.

Jodi has a lot more hatred for her mom and the wooden spoon then for her dad and getting flung across a door jam. Why is that? IMO the incident with dad isn't the truth. When Jodi talks about her mom and the wooden spoon she is angry and enraged. To this day she is enraged by it. The dad escapes this wraith because what happened is very different. I bet Jodi traipsed in home after a wild night out and I think she had too much to drink. She couldn't give her dad a satisfactory answer, she couldn't give her dad any answer, and her dad hit her. He asked the same question, she is still intoxicated and he goes to hit her and she recoils and falls back against whatever is behind her. Jodi looks down on people who drink. Jodi must be in control and she understood drinking is detrimental to her maintaining control.

Jodi's dad hit her while she was not herself but her mom hit her while she was herself. IMO dad is forgiven.

I wonder if she was Daddy's little girl and could do no wrong, but her mom new differently.

Great Post. I agree, but I do think when he finally catches her like the magazine catch. He needs to stop and really hammer it home what was just proved. Let jury know what was just proved. Then go on to next wave of attack. He lost a lot of people when he immediately jumped to next point he was trying to make.

ITA with your post. It concerns me a bit that his point may be lost with all the defense tactics (JA's selective memory, JA's constant verbal gymnastics, JA's inability to read at a first grader's pace (same goes for the defense attorneys)).

IMO

me too! I am just so tired of the "tactics" to keep someone off death row, or to find an error in a case so you go free.

HOW about the truth? doesn't that matter anymore!

To me it has become a game, a circus. Not the truth.
Because no need for much of anything other than the actual killing.
Was she in so much danger it was kill or be killed NO.
Then no self defense, but we as a society have done this. We have allowed these things and people are no longer held accountable for their actions. JMO

Don't know about everyone else, but I chose to follow this trial because I'm fascinated by psychopaths. It's been far more interesting for me because she actually took the stand.

For those that had doubts she was a psychopath / sociopath, do you still feel the same? Any doubt now?

IMO what everyone is seeing & commenting on watching Jodi is typical text book psychopathy.

It's really interesting if you hit mute and watch her knowing why she's there... Also fascinating to not look at her and listen to the word salad answers designed for wiggle room.

No doubt whatsoever.

My husband does this as well. Doesnt strike me as weird at all. He has since the day we met. Also, he stretches in the shower (ie, places his hands above his head on the wall and kinda stretches out his back - he's tall and his torso is longer than normal, extra vertibre) So TA doing that in the pictures doesnt strike me as odd.

Also, I disagree with PP about the pictures and him sitting/kneeling the whole time. The pictures are from HER kneeling and taking pics from below him, not above. You can tell by the shot of him facing the back wall (opposite the shower head). You can see the shower head is not that far from his head and above the tile line on the wall.

Take a look at the pictures again. Jodi and Travis were about the same height, so if they were both standing, the camera relative to his body would stay the same.

This is not the case. In some pictures, the camera is clearly above his head. This could not happen unless he was sitting or kneeling because Jodi is not taller than he is.

In some cases, the camera is quite a bit below his head. Again this would only happen if Jodi was squatting way down closer to the floor, whether he is sitting or standing.

Take a closer look from the point of view of the orientation of the camera relative to his body.

This would be a great way, btw, to set him up for the first knife blow which would be possibly not only unexpected but unseen, if she forces him to close his eyes, look up, look down, face the wall, etc.--waiting for the right moment to strike.

What I LOVE is that Juan has had this opportunity to cross her and we see "the other side" (IMO, the "real side") of Jodie right before the DT will bring on their DV expert. Now the jury has seen that Jodie is not a withering, meek person...she can handle her own, and a little more. The jury is going to have a much more difficult time really buying into the poor little victim Jodie that the DV expert is going to try to explain. The timing is great!!!!

Just after one day of cross examination, she has really muddied the Jodie is a victim act.

JMO

I am wondering if JM can actually bring up this point when the DV expert is on the stand. Can he say "she complained about my yelling at her but she didn't seem distressed, most of the time she was smiling. Can you explain?"

her money issues/non issues are becoming clear to me. I am watching TruTV In session replay of her testimony. She has never paid mortgage or rent in her life. Not with Travis, not with Rachel. And when she bought the house with her bf, it was his money not hers, she just moved in with him.

So her waitress money (which can be significant if you include tips and don't really pay taxes on most of that) she could have made about $3000 a month just to spend on what she wanted.

Mostly with her, it would be spent on gasoline.

they knew about the magazines. nothing being introduced is a shock to them. they're stalling, slowing things down and screwing with JM's cross any way they can. and they've told JA to do the same if given something to read. my opinion, but i'd say it's very obvious.

I'm wondering why they didn't bring it up on Nurmi's direct examination. Jodi would have been sure to cook up some story. That's the only thing that, to me, argues they may not have been aware of the message in the magazines.

I know you were not the first to call it a PEACE sign but it was not a peace sign

It was a TWO finger salute which is basically a *uck you but more emphatic than just giving someone the finger

The 2 finger sign can mean a gun.

I don't believe ANYTHING about the spoon! Nothing.

Plus who cares. A spanking with a spoon is not beating. We still have corporal punishment in the state of TX, and no one murders and blames it on the paddle. Horrible excuse for battered woman's syndrome. Don't believe the story about her dad, either.

I won't believe a word that comes out of her mouth up until the day the needle goes in.

I wish the jury could watch reruns of yesterdays testimony. I am watching IS and am seeing so much more that I missed yesterday when watching. This cross is really painful. JM has caught her in so many lies and her demeanor is disgusting. She is stumbling and bumbling all over the place. I just hope they saw this. jmo

Imagine what Jodi could have accomplished if she had used her intellect for good instead of evil.

I'm going to go with not much 'cause she's not very smart. I'm basing this on the poorly planned and executed murder, her insistence on talking to the cops, the preposterous (as opposed to plausible) lies...

  • #1,439
I think Juan was doing a couple things yesterday. I think he was setting boundaries with her and also letting her know he is in control.

One thing I noticed (and it scared me to see) was her acclimatizing to Juan. And at some point I think she will mimic him too.

Its fascinating and creepy to see a true sociopath at work.

geez....she certainly is a "specimen"

Jodi Arias is such a vile creature. I hope the prosecutor permanently wipes the smirks off Jodi, her mom and her aunt Monday.

I have the same view as you, I think the mother & aunt behave terribly and seem to think if they laugh about the trial everyone will "realize" it's a joke.

But katiecoolday and Anita Rich have a totally different view. Maybe they can tell us what they're seeing up close and personal.
