Good question. It may be to avoid his wife finding out. I know Mormons tend to prefer doing business with other Mormons, but I don't think they'd keep someone out for not being Mormon. JMO

He wasn't married for 2 years after this happened. He was single at the time. Just FYI. I have no clue whether he is Mormon now or not but I don't see any reason he would lie.

Also, I haven't been following WS on this case too much. It's pretty gruesome! But hearing that TA didn't want v sex with her, I'm thinking so she didn't get pregnant? Has that been discussed? I know she is saying because he didn't see it as sinful as v sex, but ......

Who is Clancy?

Yeah, he doesn't know, but then mentions Clancy. And "flirtatious" is a well chosen word Ryan is using. I think a different word would be recognized by those who knew TA, but no one will say it. They're down-playing TAs rep. Ryan is a Mormon man; and I believe he is protecting his fraternal group.

And before you jump all over me, no, TA being a player or whatever you want to call it does NOT justify him being murdered.

I do not see slimy either but something is amiss, he does not seem to re-call many things, really if you changed the license plate/fixed it is something you would remember, I know I would if I did.

I don't see this as anything other than his embarrassment about the sexual things he's had to say in court for all to hear. It's been almost 5 years. I know a lot of people (I'm one of them) who have a very poor memory. It's not like they were intimately involved for a long period of time. It was just a very brief (less than a month I think I heard) that they even talked.

She claimed self defense.....defense has to try and show that he was capable of behavior that warrented her killing him. Thats what they do....its their job to show a different pic than what the state is showing. Sad and ugly business....but thats what they do.

Yes, I agree, unfortunately. I think that it is going to backfire in this instance, though. But really, the DT doesn't have much to work with here, so they have to try anything. I'm sure that they are less than thrilled with the uphill battle that they have been given by their jail-cell ingenue.

Simply stated, they were given crap, so I guess they are trying to make crap-ade.

It's odd that Burns does not remember who told him Ta was a flirt especially since he seemed very impressed by JA and showed in his testimony he wanted their relationship to go further. He gives me the feeling he would believe anything JA tells him, I could be wrong but something about his demeanor left me wondering.
