I read Karla changed her name, married and has children...running scared!

Yeah, she tried to change her name but they keep finding her. She married her lawyer's nephew or something IIRC. I feel deeply for her children. Talk about Mommy Dearest.

Another Anon poster on The State vs. Jodi Arias said her parents were extremely strict with her and she was always grounded and had to babysit her little brother and sister.

About to be storming here so may miss your answer and thanks for your info! My worry is since she is able to view the computer monitor when the photos are shown, and the jury of course sees the photos....so do the people who are in the courtroom able to see these as well? The folks directly behind the attorneys, etc.
I have been on a few juries but managed not to be on a murder trial...I was chosen but I knew the victim's family so managed to scoot out of that one.

There are multiple screens throughout the courtroom, including one that faces the gallery. I don't know if any of the photos are deemed too graphic or sensitive or whatever not to be put up on that screen. When I was there, the pics on the screen were bloody, but not graphic and all admitted exhibits were put on the screen if they were used in questioning once admitted. I have no reason to believe that certain photos would not be shown once they are admitted into evidence. They're part of the record and the record is public and no motion to seal certain evidence has been made afaik

Interesting comments over at The State vs. Jodi Arias.

TSvJA asked people for comments if they knew Jodi prior to being arrested.

someone posted Anon that Jodi's father does not support her at all and that he has stage 4 cancer and has not taken any of her calls nor flow out to see her.

Another Anon posted that Jodi would make her own alcohol in Jr. High and would drink frequently, even during school and would also smoke pot on campus near teachers and staff.

I read her grandfather had cancer.

I never made my own, but I certainly drank as a young teen and the first time I smoked pot was WITH a teacher!

I had also read somewhere that she was difficult to keep under control for her parents and took to running away.

Kudos to them for trying. They actually did pretty good as she doesn't have a record....yet:)

With a teacher? :what: I remember a party I went to in High School where a teacher (married) was sitting and doing that, and canoodling with a student. His name at school was Robert, but she kept calling him Laurie. I was so naive I didn't get it LoL. I actually asked him Monday morning if his name was Robert or Laurie. I think I failed that class...hmmm maybe now I know why :waitasec:

I'm sorry if my chosen words describing Travis' murder aren't sitting well universally. I'm not here to compare, contrast, and rank crimes. I was commenting specifically on the brutality of what was done to Travis by Jodi and somehow the wording became an issue to be critiqued.
I appreciate citing other crimes that are apparently more deserving of the description of "brutalized beyond imagination" but again, I was focused on this crime, this trial, this thread - which I personally think is horrific enough.

And I'd really like to agree to disagree and move on, thanks so much.

I actually like your phrase. It made me think of others that have over killed their loved ones. All murders are horrible, but there are some much more so than others.

Nana ( not sure how to quote on ipad sorry )

I think that everyone in the courtroom did see them only because that was the day Travis's sisters walked out ... However it could have been just hearing about what was done to Travis ... I don't know for sure ...I would have left either way ... I did get a idea of what was being shown to the Jury by what was said at the time . moo

Karla was sentenced to death February 3, 1998. She did marry the prison chaplain, but they didn't have children.

I just now realized you were talking about Karla Homolka, not Karla Faye Tucker.

OK. Back to JA Trial. Sorry, y'all!

It was the 80's lots of teachers canoodling with students, it was common knowledge.

Yes, a teacher. I only tried it because I was taught to respect teachers and trusted him. It was at a party. Teachers and students attended parties together all the time.

misskrissy - I meant Karla Homolka (a Canadian crime), not Karla Faye Tucker. We don't have the death penalty in Canada. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Maybe I have the wrong one. Is this the chick from Canada who along with her husband raped and murdered...including her own sister?

This is interesting as rumors go. If this is true I would have to say they aren't testifying because she doesn't mention it. jmo

Rhiannon Woodruff I don't want to give names because I respect the privacy of my friends. I can say that one of these men broke up with her because she was sleeping with other people and he caught her. The other two of her exes I knew both broke up with her because she was obsessive, jealous, and clingy. This was many years ago.

The State vs Jodi Arias ~ Travis Alexander murder trial I have posted a comment from Arias' aunt who claimed that NO-ONE in the family knew Travis was abusive. No-one knew. This is the same aunt who sits in court daily, her mother's twin sister. The post was forwarded to Mr Martinez by T's family in case any of these dimwits get on the stand and claim they saw bruises etc.
