I stand corrected. Unless there is more to it. I guess I just assume the guy is always the one who's sex drive is the highest. JMO

That''ll definitely be a good fairytale. JMO

LOL, there are a lot of females with very strong sex drives and behaving badly. :floorlaugh:

Makes me mad to hear Travis being presented as the cruel one. Say what? This woman cut him, cut him, cut him down. Why'd she keep coming 'round, huh?

Some ex-lovers turn into stalkers, and Jodi seems to fit the bill. I can very well understand how Travis said some cruel things to her after she kept persisting. She had her own agenda and it seems she was unwilling to respect him and what he was trying to tell her. (like he wasn't that into her)

bbm - I agree and it's infuriating to me. The misuse of the "blame the victim" defense really bothers me and I can only hope it backfires in as many cases as possible.

The brutality of the crime and everything she's said and done since show the depths of her depravity. I think she views this trial as a continuance of her power over Travis, her getting the last laugh- hence her mentality "no jury's ever going to convict me".

The deliberation should be short and sweet, for Travis.

Hi, JSR. Thank you. For me, you have made the stabbing first scenario seem more plausible. As I have written, I think of Jodi's attack as being well-planned and I had previously thought that a gunshot would have made more sense. An attack from behind seems plausible. Asking Travis to pose for a rear view picture would have made him less prepared for a knife attack.

That said, I'm still not entirely convinced from the bullet evidence that the gunshot didn't come first.

I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that the gunshot entered above his eyebrow. Based off the location of the entry wound and the location of the shell casing (near the shower) I think he was placed in the shower and then shot with him sitting in the shower and her pointing the gun downward. He would have to be down in some capacity for the entry wound to be that high on his body. She is far shorter than he was. And according to the evidence shown today the shell casing was not covered in blood. If the shot came first then the shell casing would have been covered in blood as well. It wasn't it was surrounded by blood which leads one to think the blood was already on the floor when she shot him.

while I personally am under no false impression of TA being an exemplary, top notch choir boy AT ALL..and in my own personal opinion I do believe in some of his photos there is the presence of unhappiness(which is hard to determine whether that is merely situational at the time of each pic..or something more regularly felt by himself about his life).. I find it reasonable to believe that he was quite likely extremely conflicted in the two sides that there appears to be in the life he lived...

in that his wanting to be a devout Mormon adhering to their principles in his everyday life...and in his seeming other side of the coin wilder side that he was living .. IMO I find it reasonable to believe that this conflicted life he was leading at that time led to an unhappiness that possibly is seen in his eyes in several of his photos leading up to his death.. that's no judgement on my part either way, but rather just an objective view from the outside looking in and what I see as a possibility of the conflicted life he was entagled within..

with all that said and my opinion being that he was not a saint by any means I do however still find it possible that the exchange of emails that were entered into evidence today where he blasted her with what he thought of her and felt for her... while I don't find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe he was capable of saying such.. I do however find it seemingly possible given what is known about her achieving full access to his social media accts and email accts..well.. could it be that she possibly sent them to herself?

doesn't at all sound far fetched to me especially in knowing she attempted the forged pedo letters also supposedly written and sent by TA.. so, might she have also been the actual author of the degrading, blasting emails about her character?

She easily could have written them via one of us email accts, sent them to her email acct and then with the click of a couple of keys have simply erased any traces of the emails having ever been sent so far as he could tell from looking at his email acct.. quite honestly there would have been no trace of their having been sent by just merely looking at his email acct..of course she could and imo would quickly bring forward these blasting emails to show how abusive he was and her email acct would CLEARLY CONFIRM HER CLAIM in showing they originated from TA's email acct..

Guess I'll have to find out a little more about the emails to determine whether this is really a viable possibility or not..but just saying that I'm not convinced that JA is NOT the author of the blasting emails sent to her from TA's email acct AT THIS TIME(which easily could change when I learn more specifics about the emails, dates they were sent, etc)...

again I'm not at all expressing that I believe TA was incapable of writing the blasting emails ..more so the issue is that I trust this defendant ZERO and believe anything said or introduced by her has great likelihood of being FALSE, UNTRUE, BS all for the sole purpose of self serving on her part.

All jmo.

Yep, yep I agree. As far as the emails go.. if she sent them to herself it would have to be from his pc otherwise it will show from her IP and not his...and maybe it does, we will see.

BBM
Why would she have to do that?, he was already sitting in the shower from the last picture of him alive, simply shoot him then.

Wonder why she decided to use the gun after so much knife damage.

Couple things...

One about the order in which the injuries were sustained-the prosecutor explained this in his opening argument. Travis was stabbed first, in the heart, which would have been a fatal wound but not immediately fatal. This happened 44 seconds after that final picture was taken of him in the shower. She continued stabbing him, and at one point they ended up by the sink-he bent over the sink, probably to steady himself, and while he was doing that Jody was stabbing him repeatedly in the back. At some point he collapsed onto the floor, just outside the doorway leading from the bathroom to the bedroom, and Jody straddled him and slit his throat ear to ear, nearly decapitating him. This would be a rapidly fatal wound and he would have quickly lost consciousness. Jody then dragged him (accidentally snapping a picture while doing so, I'm not sure how that happened) back to the shower stall, and shot him at point blank range in his temple. This would have also been a rapid, if not immediately fatal wound, and he may have already been dead at that point.

Another thing I wanted to bring up, because I haven't seen it discussed much-whatever flaws Travis may have had as a human being, he had a terrible start in life. Both of his parents were meth addicts, he lived in poverty and squalor and was abused by both of them. He ended up moving in with his grandmother, and that is when he was introduced to the Mormon faith...it played a huge role in his life for that reason, IMO. Many abused children turn to the church to fill the empty parts of their lives where loving parents should be. I think he had a lot of conflict about his relationship with Jodi. I think that she was probably the sexual aggressor initially (she was certainly more experienced than him, it appears he was a virgin when he met her) His emails, while verbally abusive, also show someone who is hurt and angry, who feels like HE has been used and manipulated (treated like "a dildo with a heartbeat" by Jodi-his words, not mine) and that he has been violated by her. He shows a lot of anger. He does not show the typical behavior of a controlling, abusive partner though. I think people are just writing him off as some kind of dirtbag, and that's unfortunate IMO. He was neither choir boy angel or abusive monster but a complex human being, a young man just starting out his life, before it was snuffed out by Jodi. I think he deserves a lot more respect than what he is getting.

I don't know if it was JVM or NG (I have them taped and am watching right now), but one of the "guests" brought up the emotional abuse TA inflicted upon JA by using her for sex, etc. Seriously? Emotional abuse? It's being a cad. Simple. Unless there's more to it, that certainly isn't emotional abuse.

The way I see it is more of a young man with conflicting feelings of how he is supposed to act as a devout Mormon and of how he "wants" to act as a man in his sexual prime. And from what I see JA was more than a willing participant in all of this, so she knew what she was doing.

I do believe Travis knew his fate but I do not believe the attack had started yet

It would be interesting to have the actual photo but from what is shown here, his face does not show pain IMO that is why I think the attack came afterwards. I blew it up so you can see his expression better and his neck.

With the picture blown up like this, imo, he no longer looks surprised but very pissed off and annoyed.

If think the knife was slippery and perhaps slipping and cutting herself and he wasn't dead enough, so out came the gun. The noise probably shocked her and kept her from firing multiple shots. All just MOO.

VERY interesting post. I hadn't heard anything about the pedo letters though. Although I've been keeping up to date with this case, I may have missed some of this coming out. Do you have a link? TIA!

Here's a snipped quote and link, but there are many other sources as well regarding the forged pedo letters by JA ..but this will atleast give you an idea of what letters I am speaking of AND the fact that she actually attempted to enter them into evidence ..this IMO is one reason I find it possible that she, too "could be" the author of the emails entered into evidence today..but again not claiming that he didn't write them, as IMO he very well could have..
.HTH:)
Arias is also claiming that Alexander admitted in the letters that he was a pedophile. But, according to Cobb, the prosecutor's office was able to show the letters were not all they were alleged to be.
"They did a scientific examination of the letters and concluded they had been forged,"

This is very interesting. I was curious about his family dynamics as it didn't appear to be Ozzie and Harriet but I hadn't read anything. Thanks for this info, it does shed some light on it.

I do not see him as a bad person at all. He seems like he was a kid who had a lot going on for him and would have led a pretty productive life.

Thanks for bringing that into the equation, he did have a very troubled childhood, I guess that is why I do not see any of the attacks on his personality, I believe he overcame many obstacles and really was an example for many to try to achieve the same level. He really had a great attitude and it showed in his writings. BTW he had a blog in which he wrote quite a bit before this happened. I remember reading it back in 2008, I am sure his writings have been preserved somewhere because his friends really wanted to get them published back then.

Sorry but I am not hearing that, Travis imo enjoyed her company, there is no way she would have been around that long if he did not want her to be there. She showed up at three am, stayed way over twelve hours to when it happened. If her presence was annoying, she would have been gone or it would have happened much earlier. They spent time together, taking photos of each other. Travis's emails mean little or nothing if one believes he sent them, so he referred to her as a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, how many men see prostitutes and are able to separate this from their wives? I think he did see her as a 🤬🤬🤬🤬, but one who gave it up for free. Travis was not interested in Jodi and had interests elsewhere but sometimes a good bootie call is just that.

Hi, Manzana. I think that some of the degrading terms allegedly used by Travis were things that Jodi told the detective he said, not documented otherwise as far as we know.

And she was making the surprise visit and booty call. As she had previously made travel plans for them far from the prying and disapproving eyes of his Mormon friends.

As for him rejecting her that last day/night, I doubt that Jodi wanted conversations raised above the erotic level until the final, fatal surprise.

If this is the wrong place to ask this question I apologize, but I continually have to keep logging in. Literally every few minutes. Can any of the mods help me with this? It's a bit frustrating. Thanks in advance folks. Websleuths rocks! :rocker:

I believe the camera falling stuff. I haven't seen the photos, but I'm sure they reflect an explanation as to why the police feel this way.

Well I have seen the photos, finally, and I'm not sure the police today still feel the way they did in 2008. The ceiling looks very close, like she held the camera over her head and took a picture of the ceiling intentionally. I bet she turned off the lights, bounced the flash off the ceiling to light the room, and ran to Travis and started stabbing.

  • #818
What was Travis seeing at that moment? That pic captures him caught unaware while he's taking a shower, IMO, and yet it seems to catch the exact moment Jodi got his attention big time. I haven't decided what to call that look on his face.

I totally agree with your sentiments above regarding his childhood, the life he lived in his short time here on earth, and that he very well could have been expressing in those emails his VERY REAL and imo valid anger, hurt, and disgust with the entire situation that he'd so very unfortunately found himself within due to the happenstance of having crossed paths with this psychopath..

I also wanted to clarify my posts about his being conflicted.. they do not come from a place of judgement, but rather just what I see as a very honest possibility of what he struggled with and was IMO conflicted about ... all of us are guilty of having made poor or reckless choices and decisions, especially in our younger years of life.. IMO TA is no different and in my honest opinion was a remarkable young man ESPECIALLY IN LIGHT OF HIS CHILDHOOD.. and that unfortunately Jodi stole from him the rest of his life to be able to have the chance to work through any conflicts that he may have been facing during this phase of his life..

for me that does not at all take away from the successful young man who was absolutely striving to find that personal balance of how he wanted to live his life.. that was taken from him by JA.. moo is that the possible conflict he may or may NOT have been struggling with in no way whatsoever takes away from any of the good of TA..it just makes him all the more human..
