Thanks Solace for your help. OMG - what a bombshell that statement is!! I wonder what Haney replied to that.
Rash, he let it go. Like it never was said. Here is what I think is going on in Patsy's mind. She is asked about the note and what she did after finding it. Patsy has two scenarios going on in her mind, the first when she wrote the note and I would not be surprised if she did call to John when she FINISHED writing it and he called back up to her
from the basement.
The second scenario is the "made up" one at 5:30 or so in the a.m. If you read the transcript, she appears to be talking faster than with her other answers and when you talk fast, your subconscious starts answering for you. She mixed up the two scenarios and substituted part of the first one into the second. So instead of saying John called back to me from the bedroom, she says "basement".
THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL SHE IS GOING TO SAY BASEMENT TWO YEARS AFTER THE FACT IF THE BASEMENT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SCENARIO. John was in the basement.
I have said it before and I will repeat it, that is as good as DNA for me. John is involved in the staging of this crime.
I cannot take credit for finding it though. It was Rocket and it was good.
HERE YOU GO:
Okay, and that's why
10 you were standing here?
11 PATSY RAMSEY: I am going this way
12 and I lean on and said John -- you know, the
13 landing is like here, is like this, then it
14 turns and like that. And I leaned over, I mean
15 my knees were like, you know, buckling. And oh,
16 God, and he came down and I said, "she's gone,
17 she's gone, there is a note, she's been
18 kidnapped."
19 TOM HANEY: So you're here at the
20 base of the stairs?
21 PATSY RAMSEY: Uh-hum.
22 TOM HANEY: You scream for John?
23 PATSY RAMSEY: (Nodding with no
24 audible response).
25 TOM HANEY: Do you remember exactly
0041
1 what words you used, was it more than just John
2 or--
3 PATSY RAMSEY:
I remember my voice
4 was just cracking. I mean it was like "John",
5 like that. I mean like, I can't even, you know,
6 I hear my scream and I hear his scream when he
7 came up from the basement, I mean it was just a
8 horrible thing. You know, it was just --
9 TOM HANEY: Where does John, and we
10 will use a red marker now for John, where does
11 he first appear in there, at least in this
12 diagram, if you can start there?
Rash, as with a lot of the bullsh*% going on in this case, the Ramseys could claim that she meant John's scream was the same as when he brought JB up from the basement. And yes, that is possible. And so a good lawyer could nullify it in a second. HOWEVER, HOWEVER, HOWEVER,
since I believe they did this crime and I believe hell was in session - I think that Patsy is confusing the happenings of the night when hell was in session and how John probably did scream for her when he came up from the basement and she was finished writing the note. Remember Burke said he heard creaking and noises. He heard his parents going insane.
Another thing, Patsy is going to stay away from the word basement at all costs. I don't think I ever heard her mention the basement except when she answers questions regarding wrapping presents down there, etc.- could be wrong - but she is going to stay away from that word most of the time and that is why I think for her to compare the screams to the time John found JonBenet is unlikely - they can use that excuse now - but I think she is remembering reality.
