I want to make sure everyone is sitting down -- and if you're taking any heart medication, you might want to just scroll and roll past this message. It may be rather shocking to many of you here:
"RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal that Josh, 27, has not shown up to the rehabs mandatory meetings and church services.
On Friday, August 28, eyewitnesses spotted Reformers Unanimous students pulling up to the facilitys affiliate, North Love Baptist Church, in a van for a local chapter meeting of the group, which promotes recovery from addiction through Bible studies.
However, Josh was absent from the large party."

Big surprise, I know. But to be fair to Josh, the therapeutic value of the treatment at that facility is probably about the same as watching an episode of '19 and Cringing'.
Yeah--I don't necessarily see it as a bad thing that Josh has left the RU treatment--if that's what happened (another possibility is that they are keeping him out of sight of cameras by having him go to services elsewhere, or in some other way).
If he left on his own it says that he is willing to stand up to his dad and the other fundies surrounding him. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean he's going into any treatment or therapy elsewhere. Who knows what his personal "bottom" looks like. Frankly, there are lots and lots of cheaters walking around living perfectly normal-looking lives. What makes his transgressions front page news is the combination of his notoriety and his association with right-wing fundamentalist beliefs that claim sexual purity. Some publications have already pointed out that for many in similar straits, "treatment" is not really about mental health, but rather a means of medicalizing wrong-doing and saving face.
If anyone here seriously believes that Josh's present difficulties are related to an addiction, please raise your hand.
I don't think he has been making healthy good choices (paying random folks for unprotected sex while married and with a pregnant wife--not good). And I do think he could benefit tremendously from a therapeutic sorting out of what he's running from and why he repeatedly does things he claims to believe are sinful.
But, running away from that (non) treatment center--well, that might just be his first step towards getting better.
