I totally get it, but please keep in mind that some of us (me included) aren't up to date with the correct terminology and it's hard to break old habits. I called it CP knowing it is not "" but fell back into the out-dated term
Using and repeating the right terms helps the rest of us get into the right habits. It's not an intentional downplaying of what the material is, at least not in all cases. Public education is worthwhile, but does take time, even for those of us open to change.

My post was definitely not meant to be a knock at anyone here. Even the law in many (if not most) states still says CP. NCMEC just launched a campaign to try to change the terms we use to better describe the awful thing we're discussing. The first time I saw someone use CSAM was only last year and believe it or not it was a defense attorney.
I just think the media can play a big role in changing how we all talk about it - the articles I just read were detailed enough to say JD had media that portrayed the abuse of toddlers but they still called it CP instead of CSAM. That's what sparked my post, not other posts here.
