And wasn't he on duty when Kathleen's body was found? I couldn't figure out why it became so urgent to return the children after he got to work, to the point of getting a locksmith. Unless of course, he knew she was dead.
Good point. He wasn't concerned when she was there at time to drop the kids off. He wasn't concerned all night, he wasn't concerned the next day before he went to work. He wasn't concerned until he was in uniform and at work.
Perhaps he wanted that means of showing official authority to a locksmith to get them to open the locks. I would love to know what story he gave the locksmith. It must have been a good one.
