You're not wrong. He looks different in most photos. Changed a lot in appearance this year. He buzzed his hair off at the start of this summer so that pic is floating around too. I'd say the most accurate is the photo of him standing in the kitchen.Has anyone else seen three radically different photos for this young man? I am perplexed. I'm going with the photo the police put out.
The initial article said he was camping with a friend when he left the campsite at 10 pm, leaving his belongings behind. I'm wondering if it was just a "nature call" and he expected to return in a few minutes, but got disoriented. At that age, camping, I wouldn't rule out a little recreational alcohol or marijuana use, not at all uncommon at that age but also more likely to result in a physical mishap in the dark. It's very concerning that all of his personal belongings were left behind.
Sawyer Creek is described as a 'primitive camping area', with no formal facilities. You have to hike in about 5 miles from where you park.
Here is a link to a good page describing the camping area and photos of the area:
Sawyer Park Primitive Campsites | Georgetown, Texas
It is hunting season, but no hunting is allowed after dark and that is when Kenley disappeared, so it isn't likely a hunting accident.
I agree that this is a very good possibility. The initial article said he was camping with a friend when he left the campsite at 10 pm, leaving his belongings behind. looking at the map, the two camping areas they mention (sawyer park and cedar hollow) are not that big. maybe 1 mile by 2 miles, bounded by a river and developed areas. if he is somewhere in there, it should not take long to find him. also, if he had simply gotten lost, it should not be hard for him to get unlost. the area is wooded, but with regular clearings, and varying topography that should give him views of the area.Mom's interview is cryptic. She said the friends searching don't know anything they don't want them to know. And she also said that We didn't know it was gonna be like this. We thought he was lost but it's a little more than that apparently.
Is there a suggestion of harming himself out there in the interwebs? My heart is breaking for Kenley's mother. Such raw emotion at a traumatic time and experience.
I wish I was closer to help search.
True most of the time, indeed, but the last two recorded fatal attacks in the US (since 2018) were both men. Here is the article on the last one - Family of men attacked by mountain lion release updates on what happened, fundraising - South Tahoe Now. I don't feel like this event was wildlife related however, cougars usually hunt at dawn and at dusk, not in the middle of the night.mountain lion attacks are rare, and when they happen, it's usually on children or small adults. at 5'7", 125 lbs, Kenley isn't enormous, but i'd say at least an average adult size.
I had a friend from work who was killed by a mountain lion. She was on a run. RIP Barbaramountain lion attacks are rare, and when they happen, it's usually on children or small adults. at 5'7", 125 lbs, Kenley isn't enormous, but i'd say at least an average adult size.
