I messaged KWCH to see if they had any info on why the Bearcats were out today. I will let you guys know if I hear back.
Oops, I lied one more post. Is this photo local? I think I see Los Angeles on the side?
ETA I fogot to include the photo. sigh. The cool one posted upwards today.
Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I found Dad's statement that, "This is a serious thing and we want him home..." to be really unsettling.
This is a serious thing?! You think?? Maybe I'm just jaded, but that seems like something you might say if you were trying to figure out what your take on a situation SHOULD be because in your heart you know that is not what the situation is. Does that make sense?

Somebody asked earlier why a name would be withheld. In my experience the most common reason is to protect a minor(s).

Lucas Hernandez disappeared from his Wichita, Kansas, home around 3 p.m. on Saturday, police said. Lucas’ great-aunt Sally Rasmussen, who lives in New Mexico, told ABC News that she saw marks on the boy's arms and on his cheek in a photo she saw of him last May.
Rasmussen, who said she's worked at-risk youth before, said she is familiar with the possible signs of abuse and reported the marks to Kansas Child Protective Services.
Rasmussen said relatives grew more concerned when Lucas and his father, Johnathan Hernandez, visited New Mexico in November. She said they told her they saw more signs of abuse and reported them to authorities in New Mexico.
The Kansas Department for Children and Families, of which Child Protective Services is a part, said it couldn't share any information on its cases either but expressed worry for Lucas.
Yes, but there is a minor in your reply...I hope shes not a minor, shes got a 9 year old child[emoji15]

I think it was the guy from Kansas Now?Someone earlier said they saw a reporter post a picture of a bearcat at a park. And idea who that reporter was? Maybe we could reach out to them directly.

It would not be unusual to double up: if there was a training exercise scheduled, they mighg change their plan to assist with a search. The Air National Guard near us did that a while back to search for a missing hunter. It was really freaky with the big choppers swooping over our little patch of swamp and trees.
Also, those vehicles often contain specialized equipment like infrared and sonar scanners and communications technology. One of the reporters posted a photo of a Bearcat leaving Chisolm Park earlier.

I wouldn't call it "unsettling" more like curious. It almost sounds like he's addressing someone directly, telling them "this is serious, time to stop playing games, return my boy..."

It does make sense. I'm honestly fed up with hearing what he has to say already and he's only spoken out once. (Yes, I'm not doing well with this case). But it appears that his response to everything involving his poor little boy is lackluster.
He did refer to him in the past tense today
Sewer. Are they on sewer or septic at each home?
This is a remarkable comment. They must have found foot prints far enough apart to indicate the person was running. They didn't indicate size of footprint, or where they were found, although we could possibly assume one of the parks they listed at the top of the article (Dr. Glen Dey Park, Harrison Park, and Chisholm Creek Park). ALso, Lucas's footprints, or an adult? hmmmmmhttp://ksn.com/2018/02/20/police-plan-more-searches-in-case-of-missing-5-year-old-boy/ I've noticed in this article that LE is still asking the public to report if they saw someone running without shoes on. Would they continue to ask the public for this info. if they didn't think that Lucas got out of the house on his own? I would think this would make it alot harder to sort through tips if LE doesn't expect this to be the case. Also, I'm wondering if maybe they found evidence of someone searching parks on their cell phone or computer in recent days. All IMO.
Lucas has brown hair and eyes and weighs about 60 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt with a bear on it.
“If you saw someone running with no shoes on a couple day ago or saw something suspicious, saw something out of place that they think might be related to this case, please call us, the tip line again 383-4661, those tips are invaluable, those tips are helping us in our investigation,” said Davidson.
