Because something likely happened DUE to him being ill. If she said this, it would lead into "well, if he was sick, why didn't you take him to the doctor?" and then LE would know what happened, know what I mean? She's trying to remove herself from the situation completely so it can look like it's someone else's fault.

Yeah, something like he threw up one too many times and she lost it. Dealing with a sick kid is stressful, and it sounds like she confronts stress with aggression.

But I guess the neighbor was right. He said Lucas was standing back not playing, and they thought he was sick. He WAS sick. I wonder why she sent him outside when he was sick and obviously in no mood to play.

I also want to add, I live about 4 or 5 hours from Wichita and the flu was going around like crazy during that time. My own little boy was in the ER in the middle of January because of it. It was a REALLY rough one, and both of my kids ended up getting it. Luckily, we just happened to have tons of snow days then, or they would've missed over a week of school. So while the poisoning wouldn't shock me, I think he probably really did have a stomach bug.

Without going into details, we really need to have the land owners check their priorities if at all possible. There have been 2 articles about the request, but it needs to happen soon.

The family has had a very rough 24 hours. As you can imagine, in situations like this people reach a breaking point - especially with all of the negativity targeting the family.

We’re going to talk to the family again in the morning. It looks like I may be heading to Wichita soon.

From a sleuthing standpoint, I would focus on late Friday afternoon into the early morning hours of Saturday. Lucas would have been transported when it was dark outside.

Lucas had been sick for close to two weeks before he “went missing.” He had a stomach bug the first week and had been very sick. I would imagine his already fragile 45 pound body would have been in a much more compromised state.

Tim was correct when he compared EG to Casey Anthony. I’ve been thinking of Casey’s actions and patterns of behavior - I even watched a show about the case today.

I’ll check back in tomorrow. Thanks for your excellent posts!

Do you know if Emily and/or the baby had the stomach bug also? Whenever I hear stomach bug in a crime case I immediately think poisoning. Probably too much Forensic Files.

Editing to add: sorry, I see this idea was brought up earlier. I was catching up on the thread and didn't realize.

I still think this was simply so he would be seen. Honestly.

As frustrating as it seems that LE is not giving info. Maybe they learned from Caylee that sometimes too much info out. Hurts the case. IMO home is to the east . She grew up in the Wichita / Andover area. It is probably all comfortable to her. But I think close or back towards home

If in fact he was seen Fri. by someone it would sure be interesting to know if they noticed if he was wearing a t shirt with a bear on it.

With LE previously stressing the need for tips to solve this, it really boggles the mind why they wouldn't release more time line.

Unless they know what happened, but are working on evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Releasing the preponderance of evidence they already have would just let those involved manufacture a reasonable doubt, a la the Anthony Circus.

I didn't follow Caylee that closely, but I know George was the last person to see Casey & Caylee together. I believe his testimony about it was not particularly consistent or useful (to anyone but Casey and boy did she exploit his willingness to help her....imo)

It is so hard to be patient. Please, let this be solved quickly. Lucas and those who love him deserve a rest.

I live off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, so I’m very unfamiliar with the terrain of KS. In VA, I have a database where I can pull up land records. Forgive my ignorance, but how would someone find a database of property owners?

Our timeline is late Fri Feb 16 - Feb 17. NIGHT time

We need to know if rural area folk remember detecting headlights out by their roads.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 stated he had been sick for close to two weeks before he went missing. EG two sons were over on the 11th and Lucas was outside with the boys at that time. The 11th would be right in the middle of that two weeks. So he was well enough at that point to be up and about. Did he get sicker after the 11th and maybe she gave him some medication to help with his symptoms but gave him too much?

Maybe that's why he wasn't really joining in to play, and stood quietly, like the neighbor described. He was probably feeling sick.

Why would she let her boys come over when she knew Lucas had a stomach bug? There is such a dangerous flu going around.

Something is weird with that timing.

I don't think we're going to find this little guy. Makes me sad. There's just so much open territory out there he could be anywhere. Meanwhile is there any evidence he is deceased? Was anything found in the home, in the car? Without something, she's going to walk. She'll plea down the current charges and be scott free!

We don't have any evidence on anything, and I'm sure LE knows SOMETHING, but they are definitely keeping it quiet.

I swear... thank God I'm not in LE. <modsnip>

I noticed the ad with the U-Haul boxes awhile ago.
Does this mean she/they used a U-Haul truck to move?
If so, has that true been sniffed by the dogs, and gone over thoroughly for evidence?
I'm sure the U-Haul place would have a record of exactly which truck (and possibly moving dollies, etc.) that she used.

You’re back!

I agree with your description of the area. I would add that the police are on patrol because this is a high crime/low income area.

Good morning. I am very familiar with south Wichita, including that square mile mentioned. Please let me know what questions you have. They are heavily trafficked areas during the day. Late at night, especially on a weekend, you will still have a spattering of vehicles. Houses are close together. Most commercial areas are gated. It is pretty common to see police on routine patrol.

Good to see you back, kansasjason!

Thanks so much to both of you for the info. That area only came to mind based on ideas of who EG could have been with that Friday evening. I saw a couple of bodies of water on a map, but I have no clue as to what they are. But given your information/description of the area, it seems unlikely to be a place of interest for searching.

Going back to some of the inferences given by our VI’s, the routes to Andover seem to be a better focus area. With just the vast amount of land, I wonder if there’s no county/state LE helicopters that could scan the area? Or maybe any news helicopters would be willing to assist? I know those wouldn’t be equipped with the same tools as those of LE, but I’d imagine that even just a visual search from above could perhaps prove helpful?

Not that it helps with the narrowed view of Friday the 16th into Saturday the 17th, but...

This article says Dad and Mom both attended a vigil on March 3rd. (I was looking for more info on Dad's MSM presence). It also has an interesting timeline. (Hoping this is not too much to bring over. Is there an easy way to determine how much is too much of an article? Is that a hard and fast rule?).

Timeline of Events

February of 2016, police were called to an apartment on South Webb Road for a disturbance between Emily Glass, Lucas' father, and another man.

Less than two weeks later, police responded to a report of domestic violence.

In April of 2016, Emily Glass was arrested for disorderly conduct over an incident in that same apartment.

There's no sign Lucas was involved in any of these calls.

Sally Rasmussen, a relative of Lucas's in New Mexico, says another family member made a report to New Mexico Child Protective Services in November 2017 when Lucas and his family were on a visit.

In December of 2017, a disturbance was reported at Beech Elementary school between Glass and Lucas' biological mother, Jamie Orr.

Emily Glass, stepmom of Lucas Hernandez, reports seeing two unknown individuals outside her home on February 11, 2018; this was shortly after the family moved into their new home. In an exclusive interview with Fact Finder 12, Glass says she confronted the people and later took a photo of them and sent it to Jonathan Hernandez, Lucas's biological father.

That same day a neighbor reported seeing Lucas outside playing.

Five-year-old Lucas Hernandez was reported missing Saturday, February 17 in the afternoon from a home in the 600 block of South Edgemoor. Glass reported the child missing around 6:00 p.m. when she says she woke up from a nap and could not find him. She says the last time she saw him was around 3:00 p.m. that day.

On Wednesday, February 21, the 26-year-old stepmother of Lucas Hernandez was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on two counts of child endangerment.

Wait. Have they really not searched any landfills? Do we know that for sure? I would think that would have been one of the first places LE would check. Sometimes even in so-called "runaway" cases we hear about landfill searches, just to make sure.

I have thought about the container idea. But I don't know how much weight EG could lift or how much she'd be willing to lift. I was thinking about the blue plastic barrels from the Stacy Peterson case, but those are quite large.

Without going into details, we really need to have the land owners check their priorities if at all possible. There have been 2 articles about the request, but it needs to happen soon.

I don't know where all LE/FBI have searched. But this is somewhat interesting:
http://www.kwch.com/content/news/Si...ez-search-drawn-to-prior-cases-475896263.html
snippet--
"The Texas EquuSearch founder, Tim Miller, says he can't say where they are searching because of the Wichita Police investigation."
Unfortunately he also said this:
"We don't sugarcoat anything, if Lucas is found he certainly is not going to be found the way we want him to be found, and I think the most we can hope for right now is to one day very soon go to a funeral," says Miller."
I know he knows what he's talking about all too well but :tears:.
jmho

I feel so useless, 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, but I'm here to help. Tell me what I can do for you and for the family.
Whose car was he in? Have cameras literally been checked thoroughly? They would have so much to go through but I'd pick out the most likely intersection cameras, business and homeowner cameras facing the street and work around there. A vehicle leaving her house had to have been caught on at least one camera, probably more depending on how far he was driven. I still don't think she drove him if she did, he's close.
She let that baby lay in his own waste and due of sepsis, didn't she? She was too busy getting high to care or too afraid to take him to the ER cuz he had bruises.
Where the hell did that b**ch put him?
We can figure this out. Oh, I wish I was there. I'm about to try to get a little sleep but you tell me who you're trying to locate it what property and I'll find everything I can here in a couple of hours.
Everyone, try to rest. Including and especially you, PB. All you physically searching and those of you I've seen on here constantly sleuthing, Tricia, LilTex....sleep without bad dreams. Take a breather.
Hugs all around

I think we need to contact local co ops and have them display a flyer asking the farmers to check their property.

Reading this seriously broke my heart into a million pieces. My nephew is 5 years old (turns 6 in July) and I could not even imagine him being sick and not doing anything what so ever to help him. So cruel. :(

I kind of feel like we now know everything we need to know from the public's standpoint.

My first reaction was a tremendous amount of sorrow for Lucas' dad. He is bearing the weight of this since Lucas was under his care.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, thank you for being a voice for precious little Lucas. We're going to find him. I just know it.

I’m just wondering if anyone else in the household had the ‘stomach bug’ or just Lucas? This line of thinking would lead to a premeditated situation wherein someone was being slowly poisoned before death occurred. In which case the perpetrator would definitely need to dispose of the body and stretching that line of thinking even further the disposal would be planned out in advance. I’m just letting my mind wander here so it’s not really even an opinion that this is a possibility. Thoughts?

What is the fathers position? Does he have an opinion about what happen to Lucas?

03/05/18 -- Texas EquuSearch will be TEMPORARILY suspending its search for Lucas Hernandez, but we will be returning in the VERY near future. We have been given some credible information on one of our other cases, and we need to act on this to try and bring another family closure. Again, we will be returning to continue our search for Lucas in the VERY near future. Please keep Lucas, his family and loved ones in your prayers.

I was just coming here to post this. God bless these searchers! I hate that they are leaving, but I love that they are that passionate about what they are doing.

I hate to ask this but does EG know anyone with a pig farm, or know anyone who knows someone with a pig farm? West coast girl here, I'm assuming there are pig farms in Kansas.
I know it's a macabre thought, but If you know about Robert Pickton ( Serial Killer) Pig Farmer Canada. You can understand my asking.
As I mentioned in an earlier thread. I think she had help from someone, who knows how to disappear somebody in unconventional ways. Ie not burying them, or dumping them somewhere Ie in the woods, or a body of water.
It curdles my blood.

The risk factors for child abuse listed in this link are extremely familiar to Lucas. It literally breaks my heart.

Examples of risk factors:

Disabilities or mental retardation in children that may increase caregiver burden
Social isolation of families
Parents' lack of understanding of children's needs and child development
Parents' history of domestic abuse
Poverty and other socioeconomic disadvantages, such as unemployment
Family disorganization, dissolution, and violence, including intimate partner violence
Lack of family cohesion
Substance abuse in the family
Young, single nonbiological parents
Poor parent-child relationships and negative interactions
Parental thoughts and emotions supporting maltreatment behaviors
Parental stress and distress, including depression or other mental health conditions
Community violence

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread about NEAR a body of water - not in it, but just on the perimeter.

That area would typically soak up a bit of the water, so it'd be pretty moist and easy to mess with. People on boats wouldn't likely notice anything "weird" because the area could be freshly muddy without causing alarm to anyone. People on the bank that might be fishing or walking wouldn't likely notice anything, because again... grass doesn't typically grow well right on the edge of the water, so it wouldn't likely be noticed. She could also be carrying a box, a big bin, or anything else without drawing alarm because it might be "fishing gear" if anyone saw her.

So... I'm gonna sleuth a bit and find the bodies of water within a few mile radius, and see if I can't find some good areas to search. You guys will have to let me know if Henry already has them in his list, or if they have already been searched because I'm not local.

And for anyone following along, I didn't get the time off I requested (too short notice), so I can't come up there. :( I cried when I found out, but it is what it is. Not gonna stop me, just gonna have to do what I can from here.

Ok, so here is my most recent thought process:

Regardless of how it happened, she had to hide him & well.
She has a one year old she also has to take care of.
Her clearing out a flower bed in the middle of February has to be relevant somehow. Wish we knew what types of plants she pulled out(shrubs, roses, weeds, etc.).
Murdered children are most likely going to be concealed. Either buried or covered with branches/debris/rugs/etc. Maybe she used what she pulled from the flower bed to cover him. I hope searchers have been paying close attention to disturbed ground and looking under things. Odds are he isn’t out in the open.

Also, statistics show that he is most likely between 1.5 & 12 miles from the house.

I haven’t seen that info. LE said the last credible sighting was on the 11th by a neighbor. Also Kansas.com.

Weather update--it is EXTREMELY windy today. Red flag warnings. Winds sustained 30-40 mph with gusts to 50 mph. There are already 2 wildfires going north of Wichita. Be safe out there.
