I wish they were able to say she left “x” street and was walking to “y” street. It would make it a little more clear. From the finding Andrea page, it looks like they’re needing volunteers to put up fliers in the Lexington area. I didn’t see anything definitive when people asked if tips were leading them out there, just a comment that she had friends and family in the area. If she’s in Lexington, it’s safe to say she probably didn’t walk that far.
I think they know what street she was walking to, they don't know what route she took. There are a couple of different ways she could have gone.

That’s the issue though. Since nothing has officially been said, it’s all speculation. I found 2 or 3 addresses back there that she could’ve been walking to or from but it’s all just guesswork at this point.

I just wish she was spotted on more CCTV which would show her route.
I just can't imagine her being with family or friends in Lexington. Has anyone found a reward fund yet?
I do hope they can get a warrant for her cell ph. If it's still going to voicemail would her ph be powered off? Battery dead? Cell ph can provide when it went off grid. Warrant of course. I do believe they are doing everything they can to find her.
Is the fair still there? Did they get missing fliers out to fairgrounds?
Was she wearing shoes?
Jewelry?

The fair ended last weekend. I didn’t see any fliers when I was down there. I prob wouldn’t have been able to see them if they were put up on Preston anyways bc I was driving. I haven’t seen anything about a reward yet.

It is not near the river. It's a ditch with a bridge over it.
I’m talking about the Big Four Bridge over the Ohio River. Pics from the FB page

because she could take a shortcut through there to get to her parents.
We are talking about the search pics at the Ohio River, not Audubon Park

I just can’t believe no cameras anywhere caught anything. She just went poof.
I want to believe a missing persons advocate would know better than to get into a car with a stranger.
If she was calling people for rides, I don’t think she staged her own disappearance.

Unfortunately, she probably was not thinking clearly at all if she left pretty upset and wound up.

They did say she was upset when she left. Her sister had made some comments about how important it was to let Andrea know that she was loved and that made me sad to read. That’s such an awful feeling when you feel like you’re all alone. I’ve been seeing posts on my newsfeed’s about her for at least a wk now, and she has a lot of people who definitely care about her and want her back home.

Andrea Michelle Knabel, 36, was last seen around 1 a.m. on August 13 in Audubon Park area. Knabel is 5′7″, weighs approximately 190-200 pounds and has light brown hair. When last seen, Knabel was wearing a wedding tank top and white shorts.

Help wanted to find missing Louisville woman

Does no one know where she was last seen and where she was going?

Does no one know where she was last seen and where she was going?

They said she was last seen on the sidewalk in the 4000 block of Fincastle, walking towards poplar level. They mentioned that she was on the same side as the office for the apartments, which I’m pretty sure would be the left side of the street. They’ve not officially verified what street she was leaving and what street her destination was.

Late here ... who reported her missing and where was that? What does that person say about where she was going and why?

She was last seen on a sidewalk. What is the "popular level?"

Who said that she was on the same side as the apartment office?

One of her sisters reported her missing. There was some type of argument or something the night of, and Andrea left upset that night. They haven’t said what road the house was on. Some of the articles state that she was walking to another relatives house about a half mile away in the same neighborhood. They haven’t stated which road that was on either.

They have a PI helping and on the family’s Finding Andrea page, someone asked where she was last seen and his response was “walking in the 4000 block of Fincastle, towards poplar level, on the same side as the Fincastle office.” Poplar level is a busy road that borders the neighborhood. It’s a main road, with a lot of businesses and a couple hospitals. The area she went missing in, Audubon park/Camp Taylor is a large residential community. Poplar level runs north and south, so she was seen walking east towards poplar level, towards the front part of Audubon park, even though I’m pretty sure the street she was coming from and the one she was walking to were most likely west of Fincastle.

I thought she phoned various people askimg for a ride. Would she have done that if she was just walking half a mile to another relative's house?

She did call for a ride that’s another reason I’m confused bc I don’t know why she’d need a ride unless she was going somewhere outside of the Audubon park/camp Taylor area. I don’t know if maybe some of the articles online are getting things wrong or what’s going on. There’s really not enough information out right now.

I hope LE is looking into it. I know people on SM were having an issue with them bringing PI’s in but honestly, it’s not a bad idea. LMPD is more than capable of handling it but the missing persons unit handles thousands of cases per year. I’d want to hire someone outside too if it were my family member who was missing. Keeping her in the media definitely puts pressure on LMPD to take andrea’s case seriously.

Absolutely. Having a PI who is dedicated to the case and focused can make a huge difference. As long as they are a GOOD PI that is!

Wow that's her father right. No wonder LMPD is quite. Even her dad said she knew how to disappear. I hope she did just that and is somewhere watching all of this. However if she is, she pretty much cried wolf. Then he stated she could of got in a strangers car. SMH
I guess we are all clueless. I noticed he never mentioned self harm.

I think many of us on Websleuths know how to disappear or make someone else disappear. It doesn't mean that we will ever do it. In fact I think it makes it more likely that we will not.

I feel like with her work with MIA, she would know to not do this voluntarily and would know the heartache it would cause to just hide out and not tell anyone with how worried everyone is.

Yes and even if she believes no one cares about her personally, she'd know there would be a search. That people would be risking and sacrificing to search for her. That would prevent me from taking off.

Unless you’re so fed up with all of the people around you/your life. I’m not saying that’s my theory but at this stage I think her hitting a breaking point and disappearing on her own for awhile would at least have a better outcome than her meeting with foul play that night..

They have fliers on the finding Andrea page that they’re requesting people to print and put up. I think they mentioned putting them up in the new circle area. They aren’t doing any public searches right now so that’s probably the best way to help them out right now.

I agree. Even though it would be messed up, her just laying low for a little while is probably the happiest ending when you weigh the other options.

This case is very confusing:

1) We know that Andrea left her sister's house ~1am on 08/13/19. She was upset and started calling people looking for a ride. We don't know if she was asking to be taken to a specific place. She most likely wasn't asking to be taken to where she was staying or her mother's house, as it has been stated here on WS that both were within walking distance (1/2 mile and 1 mile).

2) The MIA group conducted a search near the Ohio river. It does not appear that the river is within walking distance from Audubon Park. Are they looking for her body?

3) Now the Finding Andrea group is asking for fliers to be distributed in Lexington, which is ~80 miles away. The reason is that Andrea has some relatives in Lexington and they might have picked her up.

4) No word on any banking activity that I have been able to find.
