This is a very thorough piece of investigative journalism. It's a two part podcast that was first published about 2 weeks ago

️ The Killing of Breonna Taylor, Part 1 - The Daily - Podcast

In their investigation and documentary for “The New York Times Presents,” Rukmini and Yoruba sifted through over 1,500 pages of police records; conducted interviews with friends, family members, neighbors and experts; and acquired critical recordings, including jailhouse calls, police statements and multiple 911 dispatches.

More violence definitely won't make the situation better. In reality, neither will anything else.

Certainly expecting ANY sort of changes going forward, or Justice in a case like this, is pointless. Protest or No Protest. Violence or No Violence. It's just going to continue.

People need to move past the Anger Stage, and into the Acceptance Stage.
I hear what you're saying, and I'll add " It is what it is" imo /s

I could not agree more, am I happy with this decision NO, but this is the system we have to work with. Getting in the face of LE, throwing things at them, burning property and being destructive will do nothing to bring Breonna back.

walking around with guns getting in the faces of the other side will also not bring Breonna back.

Reform is what is needed and hopefully with the settlement to the family last week that is going to happen.

taking no-knock warrants out of the picture will hopefully keep another innocent person and their family from going thru this again.

I dont know that anything will change with this case but it is time for all of the investigative reports to be released so there is true transparency in this case. Hiding it behind the blue line is also a reason that people are peacefully protesting on our streets in the country, if there are no arrests going to happen then let us see all the info they are hiding. IMO

I would agree with everything you said except the "info they are hiding". The AG & others have reasons for not releasing info. I don't know if the reasons are legit. I don't have the expertise to know if the reasons are legit and therefore would not characterize as "hiding". BTW you have stated on a couple of posts upthread that you have relevant info that hasn't come out. Has it?

I never understood how No Knock warrants were a good thing and this case absolutely proves why they aren't, IMO.

Not only did they get it wrong, the NKW "justifies" their actions and they won't be charged for her murder.
I agree. Police departments nationwide should do away with these.

We are supposed to be a nation of laws. The Grand Jury has reviewed the evidence and determined the appropriate action.

People who respect the law, will accept that the system fulfilled the process.

Because Grand jury determined officers were justified in returning fire.
Kentucky is a Stand Your Ground state. A person has the right to self defense, to shoot back at someone who is shooting at you. Do the officers were justified.

I had previously posted twice an article on the 2 career prosecutors that presented the case to the GJ. I have confidence before & after that the case was presented fairly. Not only do they have the duty to seek justice for a victim, but also not to suggrst charges against those they determined are not guilty of a crime. My guess is the AG didn't think there was evidence of a crime, but was under pressure to do something. I think the 2 prosecutors laid out the case without prejudice & let the GJ decide what to do. jmo

@TessaDuvall

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear calls on Attorney General Daniel Cameron to release all the facts and information he can about the Breonna Taylor case online. He says Kentuckians should be able to see the facts for themselves. Beshear was Kentucky's attorney general before he was governor.
Gov. Beshear says being fully informed can hopefully help people process, heal and move forward.

Governor reacts to Breonna Taylor grand jury: 'Systematic racism exists' in US, Kentucky

The governor noted that Cameron's announcement had referenced information and evidence that had not been made available to Beshear's office or the general public.

"I believe that the general public deserves this information," he said. "I previously made what I would call a suggestion to the attorney general, and now I'm posting a request" for the information to be made available online.

In the PC today, the AG said an independent witness testified that in this case, even though there was a NKW, he heard the officers knock and announce themselves.

They're not being charged with murder because they were shot at first and returned fire---making it self defense---according to the law in Kentucky, as explained by the AG.

But I agree---it's a terrible concept and should be abolished nationwide.

It is known information to some, it has not been released through MSM at this point and therefor I am unable to post it
here, I do think it will come out and I hope sooner rather than later.
The reason I said that "the info they are hiding" is because they Mayor is also asking for the documents to be released so the public will finally know the facts around this case, the fact that the documents are still being held so tightly makes me believe there are things within those documents they do not want the public to know, the independent info I have is also know by LMPD but again has not been reported by MSM I dont know if that is because they dont know the info yet, or if it is because they are still trying to out the pieces of that part of the puzzle together.
I am not saying I know things as a tease or not wanting to speak of it but the TOS here makes it impossible for me to be able to. I hope people understand that.
I do wish it had came out before the grand jury was empaneled.

I may not like it but I do agree with you. I cant say I like the system when it works the way I want but don't like it when it doesn't turn out in my favor. Again I don't like today decision but this is the system we have and that needs to be respected no matter how disappointed I am.

exactly what I was speaking of about the statement make by officer Mattingly to 1000 LMPD officers throwing gas on a fire that has been smoldering for months..there no good going to come out of all the craziness that this community is going through. I pray the officer injured will be Ok for him and his family.
I am mot trying to blame Officer Mattingly for this officer being shot, but it was poor timing as well as some poor content and then 1 day later the decision to not indict that has some fuming mad in Lou.

Fannie Lou Hamer talked about being sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Moving to acceptance is a thing that is easier said than done when some people feel like the line just keeps getting moved. The most important thing the AG said today was in reference to the task force he is convening. I think people will be able to move from anger if it feels like real change in policing practices and laws are made. If defending your castle is a part of the law of a state then their is no place for NKW--it is dangerous for citizens and police. If bad cops are kept on the force and can wield their power to harm/kill, then you can't have change because the people in the community won't trust you.

If we take this from a different perspective, people with mental disturbances die on a regular basis in confrontations with police--the police don't have the training, the people with mental disturbances don't have rational thinking happening---yet, we have made little to no change in how these situations are approached. The families of these people have no recourse but to call the police and keep their fingers crossed. Daniel Prude's family had taken him to the hospital once that evening and he was released to his family. He got out of control, left, and wound up dead.

We have large issues that are systemic and shuffled to an agency that can't do the task. We have a system that easily is corrupted and not well supervised. The police need more resources to address their communities, to address the bad cops, to address the complex needs that they face. The people need resources and a sense that their live matter.

RIP Breonna and George and Kathryn and....and...and..... there are just too many to name.

I have to agree with you, because I don't like the not so thinly veiled digs at the grand jury, that they are part of some huge systemic conspiracy.

It undermines our system, which may not be perfect, but is much better than many others.

I don’t agree with the no knock search warrants for anything non violent. Maybe if for someone who has a bomb, or holding kidnapped victims hostage, or holding a gun to someone’s head.... of course! Ykwim, and Etc......
But I also don’t agree with our police officers being crucified for doing the job they were sent out to do.
They were doing their job, someone fired shots at them, they returned fire.
It is still a tragedy what happened to this apparently innocent lady. I think the law being changed is the best solution. From what I gather though, the officers were firing in self defense. We can’t have our LE out there to defend and protect us, if they can’t even protect themselves. Jmo

I also completely agree with this post, where I think my main problem is the NKW was given with bad information so that is the first piece of this whole problem. the officer who applied for the warrant lied, he claimed he spoke to a postal inspector and drugs were being routed thru Breonna's house, the postal inspector has publicly stated that conversation never happened, he did tell LE that packages had been sent to Glover at Taylors address in Jan 2020 but there was no suspicion of drugs being involved at that point there should have never been an application for a NKW and even the when a warrant is applied for it is to be with up to date 48-72 hours before the raid not 2 months old.
This has been a sticking point in this whole process and the Officer who lied to get the warrant is still working for LMPD and has not been charged with even lying on the application.. So the officers who were sent on that raid were also with the original officer that applied for the warrant, they did terrible surveillance and thought she was home alone. There were so many mistakes made that we already know about
What may be being held back in documents that we have yet to see? and the AG admitted that the Grand Jury was not given the info that the warrant application had falsehoods in it, how can you expect a Grand Jury to make an informed decision without all of the facts?
This is where a lot of the anger not only in this community but nationwide is coming from.
And the Governor even admitted today that the AG said things in his presser that the Mayor as well as the Governor were not made aware of. So this whole case stinks to high heaven and I do NOT blame the Grand Jury they did what they did with the information supplied to them.
The Judge signed off on the NKW based on information provided to her it just was not truthful information.
