Was on Namus and this UID stood out to me:

NamUs #UP80867

On January 19th, 2021 a logger found the remains of an unknown person along with clothing and jewelry in the wooded area off of Edwin Williams Road.

At the moment the gender, race, PMI, height, weight, and approximate age range are not known and/or listed.

The person's physical features such as hair and eye color are not available as well.

There were a number of items found with the remains:

Clothing
a female sweatshirt Hollister brand with the inscription on the left front: “H CO SURF CO” with a seagull logo; on the left outer arm: “Hollister”, a small pair of decorative leggings with metal buttons and rhinestone studs on the pockets, embroidered and weaved back pockets with a symbol of a butterfly, and on the waistband “Almost Famous”, and a short sleeved T-shirt.
(On the Body)

Other
pair of women's sunglasses, a pink and red NFL blanket with "Tourney Team Advocate", a pill bottle containing multiple coins including American and Canadian pennies and Maruhan Pachinko Tower Shibuya tokens, a piece of wire frame glasses with blue ear piece, two watches, a yellow metal heart shaped pendant with a central red stone, a Bible, a white plastic bag with "Close to Home", dark colored zippered fly pants
(Near the Body)

Pictures of one of the coins, sunglasses, clothing, and blanket are all listed in Namus.

Also, based on the articles of clothing/items I believe that this was most likely a female, transgender female, or a male who dressed like a female.

I wonder about the "Close To Home" item found in the plastic bag?

There's a Cincy band by that name, also a comic, a tv show, and also there's a disability and support services organization by that name in Lexington, Ky. As well as a Close to Home Primary Care Ctr in Columbus OH.

And, Edwin Williams Road sure seems "out of the way" except for locals.

Yeah, I feel like the person was super vulnerable and maybe was homeless due to the blanket and Bible being found.

Information regarding lettering on the "Tourney Team Advocate" NFL Blanket seems to be incorrect. I believe they mistook "Journey" for "Tourney".
Here is a picture of the blanket found with the remains and the blanket I believe it to be:

If this is the same blanket, I have found reviews of the item on Walmart dating back to December of 2015.

Edit: the blanket with the remains isn't registering to this post but the picture of it is found on Namus.

Sorry for spamming the thread so much but I have a possible match:
Cassie Yeary
DOLC: June 19, 2015
Age at time of disappearance: 39
She was last seen at The New Life homeless shelter in Lexington, KY. This shelter is a "Faith" based non-profit so it would possibly explain the "Close to Home" bag if she was using their services and the Bible found with the remains.

From the items the person wore and carried, id also say female.
If she was homeless, she certainly was not for long. She wore good, brand name fashionable clothing (though more like early 2000s, Almost Famous was a very popular teenage music movie and I think they also made merchandise and clothing after). She wore no multiple sets of clothing and there is no indication of bad oral health.
I find the tokens most interesting, they are tokens to operate slot machines in one of the largest casino in Japan. She probably once traveled there and kept them as a souvenir. She may also have been a Japan lover and someone she knows may have brought them for her from Japan.
Only hint she may have been homeless is the blanket (but she could have been wrapped in a blanket by a murderer or she could have sat on it while she died naturally). Maybe also the bible, but plenty of people carry bibles not only homeless.
So if she was homeless, then only short term.

I know pill bottles are waterproof, maybe they were using one to keep their valuables dry/safe. The clothes definitely make me think 'young woman who went missing around the late 2000s/early 2010s'

Regarding the clothing, she might've thrifted them as well. Hollister has never been over $7 at Savers and Goodwill. And at Salvation Army, jackets are no more than $10, regardless of the brand.

Of course thrifting or second hand clothing via church charities or homeless shelters is always possible.
But at this point I really cannot tell whether she was homeless or not. No real hint that she was on the streets.
I wish there would be more information released. Was there a skull? Teeth?

I guess it is a work in progress and LE will put more info into NamUS later.

a pill bottle containing multiple coins including American and Canadian pennies and Maruhan Pachinko Tower Shibuya tokens

This part is absolutely bizarre to me. Per online searching, the Maruhan Pachinko Tower, in Shibuya, is a gambling parlor for pachinko - not even a hotel. To play pachinko, you exchange your money for a bunch of steel balls to put in the machines. You can exchange the balls for prizes or food (strictly speaking, it is illegal to exchange the balls for cash, but you can easily do so, due to links to organized crime). I'm not even sure what this place uses tokens for - the articles I have read only talk about the balls and exchanging for prizes.

Perils and Profits of Pachinko Passion - L.A Times, 1996 article
As Japan Struggles, Pachinko Evolves (Published 2003) - NY Times, 2003 article

IMO - why would this UID have this incredibly specific item on her? Initially I thought the place was a hotel or something. Still extremely specific, but it would make some sense, like it being the equivalent of a hotel key card or something (which I used to keep).

Also, Canadian coinage? Why would she have Canadian coinage on her? Would that indicate a higher likelihood of being closer to the northern border, possibly traveling to and from Canada?

Just speculative/opinion only. not sure what to make of this. I hope I'm not barking up the wrong tree.

The coins threw me completely off aswell. Maybe she was a traveler and collected coins as memories of those places she visited.

My dad, back when he still traveled internationally, would do that, so I'd say that's a definite possibility.

That could also be it. Maybe it was a close relatives who had passed it down to her. Also, my great grandpa used to work at several donut shops and he would collect different types of coins customers gave him. I have seen many Canadian coins and some other random ones. Maybe she collected those from work and considered them valuable?
