Sorry to hear about your struggles, hipmamma-that type of story is the icing on the cake to this kind of selfishness. As to hiding the pregnancy, I have seen athletic girls with apple shaped bodies do an amazing job of hiding their pregnancy, especially if it is their first and they are young. My sister in law was 8 months pregnant at her Senior prom and none were the wiser. If they do not gain much weight and they have good muscles, it is amazing! My brother adopted the child when they got married (he wasn't the bio father, although we consider that a mistake of nature only!!!.)

I want this girl to do hard time-but something tells me if she has a family that will bail her out, there will be all kinds of filings around mental health, postpartum depression yada, yada. And don't get me wrong, PPD is very real, but not in this case.

The problem is that we have made it so UNFORTUNATE to be pregnant and have babies in this country. The successful just don't do that.

I think a better lesson (other than abortion, I believe it's a choice but a bad one) is for us to teach what the "right thing" would be and imo it's going through the pregnancy and giving the baby up for adoption. This kicks a girl's head into reality instead of the quick fix solution. We live in that immediate gratification society and it's how we're teaching our children to deal with their problems too. That's jmo. I had two friends in high school who had to go through that. Yes, it was traumatic but also helped them re-build their self esteem knowing they did the right thing for the baby and made a couple very happy. It brought about the very REAL consequence of pregnancy and unprotected sex. After that, they worked much harder to NOT get pregnant again. It wouldn't work for everyone, but why are we having so many girls just not care about human life? Because we are raising self absorbed twits?

I have known several women (my aunt being one of them) who never "showed" and these were thin women. It is possible to hide it if you want to. But that's besides the point.

I have many strong opinions about this case and cases like this as I am a staunch pro-lifer. I agree this girl should pay dearly and never see the light of day. I will leave it at that.

And even though I am as pro life as it gets, she could have made the decision to have an abortion as well. She did NOT have to drown her baby in the toliet. At least then this poor baby wouldnt know her mommy killed her!

I want to know why no one taught this girl to be responsible for her body,there are many types of birth control on the market with and without hormones. There is no excuse for it to even get this far pro life or not. I told my daughters not to have sex but since I can't stop it I taught them to be responsible about it and on the pill they went. I told them it's not a permission slip to have sex but if they are use birth control and condoms. sex isn't worth dying for and it's not worth bringing a life into this world you can't take care of. I think abortion is a personal choice and not up for debate,what might be right for one person isn't always right for another.This girl has no regards for any life but her own. I for the life of me can not grasp how a person can carry to term or almost term and kill the child and that is far worse then an abortion. My opinion sorry if it offends. I hope she is never free so she can never do this again.

Well sadly in this country an infants life (even one in utero) is not as valuable as that of an adult regardelss if it's infacide or abortion.

1998 Amy Grossberg & Brian Peterson murder their newborn son. Amy received 2 1/2 years and Brian just 2 years.

Same year Prom Mom, Melissa Drexler delivers her baby while at her school prom and throws her son in the trash to die. She is sentenced to no more than 15 years in prison.

I'm not a violent person, but just something about these cases really stirs a lot of rage in me. The kind that would like to hold "Katie" McCoy's head in the toilet so she can see what her own childs first and last moments of life were like.

I seriously hope she rots, but chances are she'll be back on the golf course before she's 25. Oh well I can always hope she gets struck my lightening.

i'm staunchly pro-choice and also pro-common sense. but indy gal, i don't see how a newborn can 'know her mommy killed her'... but, regardless of that,, it's still wrong. the girl was in some seriously delusional denial. and to hear that she asked for a trash bag after being in the bathroom for an hour.. then put the body in a dumpster.... did she not think her roomies would think something strange was going on?? how stupid or psychotic is this girl?? i definitely WOULD like to hear what her parents have to say.. what kind of home creates a person who would do something like this? and i agree... she should have chosen abortion, adoption, the morning after pill, or better yet, birth control or just not having sex with some EQUALLY IRRESPONSIBLE GUY in the first place.

Watched NG Friday night on this horrible crime. I was SHOCKED to hear that the FBI stat's were that at least 5 babies under the age of one week die EACH WEEK, got the impression that although he said die it really means murdered or left to die, which to me is the same. I had NO IDEA, thought it was bad enough the 10 that had gotten national attention in the media, then to hear those stat's, those are the ones that are KNOWN.

There is a chance that these type of young women pray that the pregnancy will not go on to full term by not eating properly, irresponsibly exercising, other methods of self aborting basically, but they don't think of it as abortion & when that fails they murder their own offspring as they never admitted that a real child would result.

It's horendous & there are many hypocrites that walk amongst us & we have no idea, they all say the right things. All to keep that perfect image & succeed.

That is the thing she will be aloud to have another baby when she get out of jail. This should never be able to happen a second time. They should lock her up and through away the key!!! She dosent deserve a second chance but she will get it when she could have gave a loving mother a second chance to love and care for her baby!!! We need to make are laws more strict!!!
