Like yesterday I am having issues with WS loading the pages. Uggg! I am really trying to be patient, it can just get so frustrating at times.

I don't feel it will take 9 hrs to reach a verdict. I also don't think these people want to spend the night.

Yes, it has been a nightmare for the last couple of days. Sometimes you can get on WS and sometimes you cant.:(

I hope it clears up.

Did you see him hide a smile when his dad was on the stand? It chilled me to the bone.

It was like he was thinking 'wow dad........good job.'

I missed that ocean. I hope the jury didn't.

This is a 6 men 6 women jury right? It will be interesting to hear their thoughts afterwards imo. If JY is really innocent and is found guilty, when he comes out of prison he his going to be a hardened criminal and scary as heck like his dad imo. Personally, I think he is guilty. I have seen little flashes of the not so young and innocent boy sitting at the defense table during breaks.

He's as guilty as homemade sin.... JY was raised in an environment that guaranteed an early loss of innocence. He was street smart and full of rage. This kid has lived a lifetime in his short years. :banghead:

Quoting myself... That should have started with "I agree with you"

I am watching the lady defense attorney on HLN and I can see her better now. Her hand movement is very distracting and means nothing in telling the story. She just called JY a poor little boy. wow

HLN going over closing statements.

Defense attorney tells jury to reject everything the jail birds said because of where they're coming from.

I don't agree with that logic. Just because a man cloaks himself as a man of God doesn't make him so likewise a man in prison should not be thought to be incapable of honesty.

Unfortunately millions of children each year go through abuse/neglect but fortunately for society most of them break the cycle of violence.

I think JY thought it would give him power and impress his dad at how tough he was.

I still say it ate at JY that he had to go home every night and stay at Cassie's when Gouker spent most of his time up at Amanda's with her, Trey and McKenzie. I think he seethed about it and resented it..including Trey the good son.

IMO

I totally agree with you... Having been a foster mother for going on 20 years now, I can honestly say that most will break the patterns. Right is right and wrong will always be wrong and JY chose to do wrong. He is guilty. Jealousy was a powerful motive for this "Young" man.

Jones Brown: "It's a big challenge. He is a juvenile." Could Young swing bat hard enough to do that damage? Yes.

I tend to think that if someone, anyone for that matter, swings a bat with all their strength, and smashes into the back of someone's head, the injured party is out for the count and can not put up any resistance to protect themselves from that point on. Once this injured person is laid out on the ground, they are defenseless and can be beaten to death easily by someone determined to do the deed.

Well, if the jury does what Defense tells them, to reject everything the jail birds said, then they would also have to reject what Josh Gouker said, right?

I don't understand why they didn't put on some kind of defense, they had that letter, they could have done something with it. I don't know if I could convict the kid because of the rest of the cast of characters, I still can't get over the court giving any kid to a guy like Gouker, nothing good was ever going to come from that decision.

I wish the guy attny would have done their closing, this chick does look interesting but I'd rather have him talking, he's a little smoother.

I wish we could have heard the questions the jurors had for the Child Services woman who help Gouker get Joshua back. The judge said that he could ask any of the questions.

I definitely think this murder was much more personal to JY than just done to impress daddy dearest.

Just think about it.

JY had to live a lie. He had to tell CPR that he lived as one big happy family. One dad, one mom, 2 sons and a little sister. Yet the stark reality was that was just a façade and he had to fake it once a week in front of the social worker. Josh Young during the entire time JG had him he was only 'allowed' to stay over at Amanda's two times. "Allowed' to really be a part of his pretend family.

I think Josh Young hated that he was tossed aside and left out of the real family unit. The other kids had their own bedrooms while JY had to go stay at Cassie's in a spare bedroom.

I think he resented the hell out of Trey because Trey was known as the good son who had a supportive father that loved him for him and did a lot of productive things with him. I even wonder if he was told by either JG or Amanda 'why don't you act like Trey?' because Trey was known as quiet, easygoing, and very family oriented.

I just think this was very personal with a lot of rage pent up inside of JY. He had wanted to be with his dad but yet most every night he was told to go stay elsewhere and couldn't be with his 'pretend' family he was suppose to have.

IMO

I like how the Prosecutor outlined the shortcomings of their case and addressed each one saying effectively that it isn't necessary for the jury to reach their verdict because of it.

I thought it was thorough and effective.

Is HLN done with the JY trial?

The best thing about HLN are those commercials for the recovering Aflac duck. 'The eye of the tiger' gets me every time. I want to send a 'get well' card to him. hahahaha

No I think they are just showing this Usher hearing thing on the custody of the children. I think it will be brief.

OT Usher and his ex wife really look like they could be brother and sister. I wonder if that means they really love themselves? and have egos the size of Rhode Island?
