Next court date is in February 2023.

There was supposed to be a status hearing in September. I don't think that happened. I hope Feb. trial happens. Justice for this girl can't come soon enough.

I just stumbled across this thread and I'm sorry I did.
I normally can handle horrific cases, but not tonight. Thank you to those of you who will follow this case until Lacey's parents are held responsible. I'm going to stand back from this particular case as I have other ones on my emotional plate.

I'm so sorry for what happened to you Lacey. Rest in peace.

I believe they both posted bail and are free for the time being. I wonder where they are... surely the community must be as disgusted and horrified as we are. I can't imagine they are living peacefully in that same house.

Remember they managed to live for years in a house that was immaculate except for Lacey's couch right? But then again maybe blocking that out is different to blocking out a community? I dunno.

My best guess would be they are spending all their time alone together in that house. I mean, you just wouldn't go out and show your face and expose yourself to the things people would say, would you? Groceries delivered, take the bins in and out after dark. Possibly already in a different kind of prison.

My fear is that NO ONE is speaking for Lacey. The parents can try to rewrite "their" history but the pictures and the autopsy and the witnesses at the scene all tell a different story. They have to be held accountable. We need to know how this human being was failed by so many others when her parents did not do their job, much less respond like a normal human being to suffereing. Those that did not speak up or question anything when she was alive, must make sure this case does not disappear. These people did not "lose their daughter." They literally murdered her everyday by denying her basic care. It was actual torture for her. She had to be in tremendous pain for a long time - not just from starving to death but from the open sores and her flesh melting into where she sat. She had Covid for goodness sake! She did not die from a disease like cancer. She died because her parents decided she wasn't worth the trouble and since she could not communicate (at whatever point this started) they knew they could just put up a Christmas tree in another corner of the room and continue on.

But good news is the DA says he will not plea this out and wants to take it to court. There is a hearing February 22. I hope they have to appear.

Thanks for this info- unless they were paralyzed their medical excuse is ridiculous--further,
if they were physically unable to take care of her properly, they could have gotten someoneTo their
home to take physical care of her-- they are disgusting for their continuing failure to take
responsibility for what they did to her, and their massive horrifying neglect of her.

glad the DA isn't talking plea. These people need to face the music. All of it. They had more resources available to them than most and lived a very public life while hiding a very private horrible secret.

I can't imagine what medical condition would not only prevent me from caring for my disabled dependent child while ALSO preventing me from arranging for someone without those conditions to do it instead. So many resources that could have been sought and weren't. These are not uneducated poor the odds are stacked against them people. They are simply sick awful humans.

I for one will be checking for updates after the hearing in February.

Absolutely! They were “productive” members of society. They deserve to both spend the rest of their lives in prison IMO.
